Hey girls- it's been quiet here lately. Everybody must be enjoying spring already,eh?

It's warm here now- no more cool weather for us! We had a big rain last night-I guess about 3 in. the garden needed it already!

Not much sewing going on here- working on a slip dress-applique on the "FOREVER" quilt- that's about it.

By the way Ronna- our bread baking workshop went so well! All the girls want a bit of starter and are now hooked on the English Muffins!!!

Tomorrow we are having a fiber workshop- spinning, crochet, knitting & tatting- just brief demos then one on one instruction-
I hope to get some specifics on spinning my wool that Bonne sent me.

What are the rest of you working on?

Blessings,
Autumn

shoveling, more than likely before the day is done. Major blizzard moving in today expecting up to a foot of snow. Then back to 50's by Sat. Now, this is spring!
Found a lady to buy fresh eggs from & picked up 2 dozen yesterday. ;)

Great! Now you get fresh eggs!!!
I lost one of my hens several days ago- she just died on the nest!!! Weird huh? No clue what happened to her. Everybody else seems fine- but then she did too the day before she died!!!

Autumn~sorry to hear about your chicken.

Bonne~snow~how will your gardens do with the snow? I guess they may be ok because it will be warm again soon. Did you get my check? I am loving the soap. So great!!

I have all my seeds planted. Need to run to the post office and buy a spray bottle.
My son is a little under the weather. Had a temp this morning so we did not go to our Thursday classes.
Check in later.

Well gals the people from the movie studio are in town. They took over the streets. The neighbors have to park on our street because they can not park in front of their houses. The air wreaks of exhaust fumes, but maybe that will subside after a while. I was sitting at our kitchen table eating breakfast, and there was a bright light that shined in my face. Thank goodness they lowered the light. I am glad that I do not live on the next street over. I thought that it would be interesting, but I have other things to do. I am trying to figure how I am going to keep our dog quiet today.

Sharon, if your dog interrupts filming, they will pay you to take him/her away for the day or however long they'll be there. I was married into a stunt family and have been on quite a few shoots, both at the studios and on location.

Welcome Jess~we've missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Autumn~I love Bonne's soaps, too. They are so awesome. I haven't tried the mint one yet. I'll have to try that next. The almond sounds nice, too. I love the Shea butter she sent. I have to keep telling my daughter to stay away from it.

Jess, nice idea for the dog, I'll have to try that for mine this summer. Snow day today, but not sticking yet. Just a quick storm from the Gulf of Alaska; Larry does not get it that I don't want any more snow this year..isn't it nice of him to share? Not.

It's supposed to rain here tonight. I'm glad it's rain and not snow. I can't wait to get all our plants in the ground but it's too early here.

I have some things to finish crocheting and send out by next Wednesday. I'm going to work on those this afternoon since we didn't have to go to our classes. It's been nice not to have to run out. I will also be making some chocolate covered oreos. YUM!!

Sharon~good luck with your dog. Maybe the film crew can pay for a dog day of pampering. LOL

Jess's idea sounds like it would work. I know mine would be busy for awhile.

Ok~April 1st is next Wednesday. It's been so quiet here that I don't think we will be making it to 1000 posts by then. Do you think we can do 79 pages by then?!

Jess, I was going to tell you, but thought that I would surprise you instead.

My husband said the same thing to me this morning about them paying to keep the dog quiet. The street sweeper comes by on Thursdays. I told one of the drivers this morning. I told her that he would take one look and turn around. No vehicles could get on the street above us or next to us. All of the larger vehicles-catering trucks are on the street above us. Although it is neat that a movie is being made in our area, I don't think that the neighbors could put up with it on a regular basis.

Autumn, Oatmeal, milk and honey has an almond scent to it, don't you think Ruthie? I don't have any "almond" Frag. Oil and don't plan to buy any more either, just using what FO's I already bought which is vast. I don't plan to produce to sell anyway, just thinning what I already have made and anything in the future will be just for personal use. It's too expensive to keep up with anymore ~I've gone through the craft fairs, trying to sell online and local and have thrown in the towel from lack of interest and don't plan to invest any more $$ into it than I've already squandered.

I went to Joannes this morning. One of the long time employees told me that another long time worker was laid off so her last day is next week. These women make shopping for at Joannes fun. They are so funny and crack jokes all the time. They enjoy their job and are always so helpful. Now, fabric shopping is fun, but when the workers are downers, I really don't shop at that store. There is one of the local stores, where the workers seem like they don't really want to be at work. I was told by one employee who worked at this store that she was being too helpful, and eventually either she quit or they let her go. What a shame.

I forgot to tell you all, that Carol and I got together for lunch yesterday! It was so much fun! We went to this little restaurant and I have to say it was so nice to not have any kids going MOM! MOM! MOM! for a few hours!! We went to the thrift store before lunch and I found a bunch of skirts for the summer including one that I am going to use to make an apron!

That's fabulous you could thrift shop together. If Ronna and I ever went thrifting together we'd be sabatoging one another, you know, like tripping the other at the door or pointing at something while grabbing something else with the other hand. ROFL!

Monica~how fun~it sounds like it was great. Can't wait to see the skirt you make into the apron.

Sharon~how sad to lose a good worker like that.

Ruth, the woman was the best. Always has a cheerful smile on her face, and loved her job and the customers.

It looks like the filming crew is finished. YIPEE!
At least there are trucks leaving.
The smell of the diesel fuel this morning really made me sick to my stomach.
