I really don't want any snow.

In honor of the Vernal Equinox, I planted spinach seeds today. I don't like spinach, but it's a cold weather crop that can be planted now and I'm going to give it to my elderly neighbor that so faithfully saved her newspapers for me for the new garden plot~she loves it. ;)

Just got back from the local garden center with more seeds and some broccoli and cauliflower plants. Plan to start some cool season crops this year as well as the usual things. Also got some of those purple fleshed seed potatoes-And, got a couple tomato plants that are supposed to be cold tolerant, so am putting them in big pots for indoors for now and will put them outside on nice days.

okay, Carol just left and we had the BEST time! She is so cool! As usual with kids, they had to show off and be the center of attention, but we still did get to talk! I think she may come back to visit, but I am not sure! haha!! Olivia decided to sneak up on my sewing desk and dump 1/2 a bottle of white paint on her feet and the desk while Carol was here! We are going to meet up in Bullhead City for lunch soon so we can actually talk without kids!

I really wish you could have all been here!

Monica .....Yes, off course I'll be back if you'll have me! I had a blast regardless of the white paint still under my fingernails! LOL I loved our photo shoot although we couldn't stop laughing long enough to get our glamor shots!

After the first few minutes I felt like we'd known each other forever....

I'll post a blog alert on Monday on MJ's so everyone can be a part of our visit.

Definitely spring here, lots of sap buckets on the maple trees , that is always a good sign. It is pretty cold here this evening... The temperature keeps seizing in one direction or the other and my sinuses are just filled with cement. Did not sleep much last night, but I expect to tip over early tonight.

If you go to the Nifty Thrifty thread Terri posted a picture of the cat market bag I made her. I have some ready to go, but just not enough energy to actually construct anything. Terri sent me two reaoly cute chickenfood bags. I can see now I'm going to start begging for bags from everyone. Let's see, do they make Lemur Chow and does it come in huge recyclable sizes? Maybe Flemish Giant Bunny Chow?

Yesterday I drove to Camden, a town on the coast near us, so Zan could get some art supplies. She came rushing back and said you have to see this! In the window of a pet supply store, selling all sorts of foofy animal toys, etc. was a huge bunny, gray, stretched out in the window display. What a lovely looking animal, but so huge! I made Zan draw a picture of him for me, because i may need to do another bunny something some day. He was in a very big enclosure and had his own Dogloo, no cage for this behemoth. What fun.

There is a place near us that raises all sorts of old breeds of farm animals. They used to be open to the public. It was such fun to visit and draw pictures of all the livestock. One year there was a renaissance fair, I made costumes for the whole family and we had a lovely time. I'll have to call them and see if they ever let anyone in their fabulous farm anymore...

Spinach, lovely stuff and you are smart to plant it early. We still have plenty of snow in our yard, though I can spot a little brown grass in the back field.

Monica, how nice that you and Carol got to visit. We'll be looking for photos of paint covered feet..

Time for me to go see if I can get a little sewing done ......

Monica can't wait to see photos of your fun day-glad you had a great time you deserve that.

Karin very cool bag when you get a chance post a pic of chicken one on blog I am curious. Very smart thinking on both your parts.

Bonne I do not like cooked spinach but as a salad or dip it is yummy and chocked full of vitamins.

Karin, your bag is so cute! After you mentioning the cat food bags I have noticed them..they do look like tyvek or some such material with a life expectancy of eternity..very good for those shopping bags. I would like to have seen the giant bunny.

Monica, woohoo again! surprises..how nice. :0)

Carol and Monica~it sounds like you both had a wonderful time. Seems like lots of fun.

Karin~I would love to have seen that bunny. The bag you made is great. I love it. Hoping your sinuses clear up soon.

Steph~ooh! suprises coming your way. What fun. Don't forget to share pics with us.

Not much planned here for today. It is sunny but only in the 30's so far. I think we are going to watch some movies and just hang out today. I will probably do alot of crocheting while we watch movies.
That's about it.

Hope you all have a great day!!

Well it is some old cold here this morning and my sinuses are shrieking, but I've just taken my meds so I'm hoping relief is on the way. I finished my big nine patch top and now I'm making smaller ones for more strippy quilts. aI like to get on automatic pilot and sew up a whole bunch of blocks at once so I have little piles of things to pick from.

Yiikes, I better get dressed and get moving...hope everyone has a lovely day...

Bonne~I received your wonderful package today. Thanks so much. I think I will be ordering more for my mom for mother's day. It will be such a nice gift and I think a handbag made by a farmgirl or maybe even me. I think she'll love that. I guess I should get busy looking for a pattern and try to make that bag so if I mess up I could just buy one instead. I think that's a great idea.

We are working on building an enclosure for our garden. The squirrels here are terrible so hubby came up with a pvc and chicken wire enclosure that will keep squirrels, rabbits and even our dog from ruining the garden. I will show you all pics when it's done. Hubby just ran to the store to pick up a few more things to get the frame finished today.

Karin, Sap buckets on the trees - I thought that happened in Feb. I've always been interested in that. I was looking around here for someone who did it so I could see how they do it. It's just so cool!

It is really cold here today - I think I need to build a fire...

71 here. Next week it supposed to be colder though. I planted snow peas, lettuce and sweet onions today~they won't be bothered by the cold.
