Carrie, that's cute...

Karin, oh good, I can't wait to see the catfood bags.

There must have been a major happening with our internet today..it went off early evening and it just came back on.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Hello! ladies~

You are all night owls. I like to sleep. Watched some tv last night and went to sleep at 11. When the alarm rang this morning I did not want to get up. If I stayed up later I would be miserable. My mom always said that when it was time for me to go to sleep it didn't matter where I was~I could even sleep on a rock. I think after working night shift for ten years with two little ones I am now making up for lost sleep.

What is everyone up to today?

Carol~I love the pictures on your blogs. They're awesome.

Karin~I can't wait to see those bags.

Carrie~I love the tea cozy. It is so adorable. Did you use a pattern or just come up with it yourself?

Nice chicken tea cozy, Carrie! I love it, sometime I'm going to get my teapots out on a shelf in the kitchen and then maybe I'll make a tea cozy....

Those murals are really a hoot, it takes me back to my youth, as roadside graffiti goes, not bad!

I woke up with the sinus headache from hell, but I'm going to get out today anyway, have to go pick up a belt for my treadle, we've only got about a foot more of snow to melt before I'll be able to get that little baby in the house. My daughter needs some red-violet temporary hair dye, this necessitates a trip to far off places that have more than a corner store and a gas station.

Teresa, glad to hear people are feeling better at your house, it is always an exhausting business when the little ones are sick.

My new neighbors have horses, a tack shop, some goats and some goofy dogs. They seem very nice. I'm going to go over and beg a bucket of horse manure for my rhubarb when the weather hots up a bit. I love their horses, tow of them are big work horses, with big fluffy hoof covers, and they have a pony too...

Ah well, pain meds are starting to work, I better get off this site and get moving...

In honor of St.Patricks Day, I'll drive the green car today, the Corvette. In the photos of bunnies on my blog (http://ronnastreasure.blogspot.com/) there's a picture you can almost see of it in the bookcase to the left. First day photo, almost 14 years ago. Hey, any excuse is better than none at all and Larry's been saying I don't drive it enough. As opposed to driving it too much when it was new. sheeshhh.
Beautiful day here, hope the snow melts for everyone else very soon. 45 below before wind chill factor in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
Looks like my quilters kit for a Viking will go on eBay, some have read but no response. I'll give it a day or two more, since it would be a great deal for anyone who can use it.

Ok~ladies~I posted some pictures on my blog of some wonderful sewing room/craft spaces. This is what I am hoping that my craft space downstairs will look like when I am finally finished with it.

Carrie~I need to go over and blog visit. It's been busy here.

I'll be leaving to go to my son's art class soon. Let me know what you think of my dream spaces.

Bonne~I never heard of planting peas on St. Patrick's Day.

Ok, now what do you see in those pics Ruthie? Bright light. That's going to be key for you when making a basement "crafter friendly". Lots of good bright lighting will make it into an area you WANT to be in.

Bonne~my basement is dark. I will have to put some good lighting in that room. I have paneling on the walls and I am going to paint it~something that will look like the wallpapers Steph had on her blog.

Ruth, since you have the paneling and it already has the grooves in it you could roll the paint on with a creamy white color and then go right behind it with a wide dry paint brush in a long vertical stroke to leave a worn wood paint job effect.

Evening ladies, I am one sore old woman tonight. Zan and i started off to go fetch her magical hair coloring and I said first we had to go to my favorite salvage/fabric store so I could get some thread. I just wanted to get it over with. They didn't have any thread I could use, just big spools of cheesy polyester and hand quilting thread I don't use. But- how easily I just get carried away with fabric, they had marked all their upholstery material to 2.98 a yard. I got a couple yards of a couple really cute sort of sixties retro fabric, one is stripes and the other is flowers, they are about the same weight as barkcloth, then I peeked in the fat quarter barrel. Never a good idea. I did find a couple things I know other people will need (yes, really).
then I had to go to Jo ann's to get some hand sewing needles, I bought no fabric there. I don't remember much about the rest of the day except when I pried myself out of the car I hauled myself upstairs for a nap. It was a nice day here, but it is cold tonight, and I'm bundling myself up so I can get a little hand sewing done

There was this wonderful old couple staggering down the aisle in front of me, the old lady was short, round, wearing a wonderful fleece jacket with wolves on it with her nice flowered dress and logger's socks , but her husband was dressed al,most the same, but he was wearing this wonderful little hat with a big pompom on top, and he was lugging his wife's purse, which was the size of a carpet bag. I don't know, I just love seeing anyone older than me out there trudging around, just plowing through.

My kitties are demanding some attention, so I guess I better hop to it,

Karin

I love the plates in the ground, I assume they were the edging for a long gone garden bed, people sometimes do that here. When my husband and I lived in Tucson for a couple years in the early eighties there was a house down the road a piece from us that had old chrome toasters and other old shiny and/or colorful kitchen gadgets as an edging for there semi circular driveway. It was really sunny, and visually much nicer than say , my neighbor's yard which had gravel sprayed neon green, but I guess it is a matter of taste. Zan and I keep a little notebook in my car that we write down our favorite license plates in. Today we say a good one - OO SHINY. Made me laugh. Just wanted to pass that along...

I went to see my mother again today and I did mow her front yard. The back yard needs it again, but there was no time and no energy. I am still hoping to find someone else to do it at a reasonable price, and someone who does a good job.

I did ask some gardeners what they would charge. When they told me the price, I replied, "The other gardener, charged..." They dropped the price, but did not match the price of the other gardener. Now, my dh asked me the same question that I had after they left, "Was the price per visit or per month?" Now, if I had thought of it and asked, and....the price was per month, why am I killing myself doing the yard work?" Well, there is next Tuesday. I will have to ask that question.

Last Thursday, my mom told me that the night time nurse washed the woman with water and a wash cloth, and then used the same water and wash cloth on my mom. I quickly went down to report it. I asked the social worker what happened. The nurse denied it, but the social worker knows my mom good enough and that my mom tells the truth. The nurse was written up. This happened once before, but the person never did use it on my mom. She used the same water on two other people in the room. When the nurse came to my mom that time, my mom said, "You are not going to use that on me!" The person should have been let go. There is no excuse and for putting the patients at risk if someone had a disease. I think that the nurse on the recent incident was lazy and thought that no one would complain, or that they were too tired.
