Ok, here's my Thomas....the back shot isn't that good..got to find another one where the lighting shows the silver..when it's wet I bet it's 3 inches longer then the curl draws it up..just disgusting..I use hot rollers and have a curl til I walk outside for about 5 minutes. And his grows faster then mine!

Now see there!!! He has the natural look and it's great!!!!! Why bother with all that color!!!!! He has my hair (before bangs)- looks better on him!!!!!!
I wear a braid almost all the time now cause it gets wild in the humidity. I straighten my bangs so they will behave instead of wave and I braid the rest!
I'm laughing too cause our hubbys are as diverse as we are!!!!!! Ok Im curious- did the guys who have longer hair NOW do long hair in the 60'-70s?

Good morning, ladies~
My clean kitchen is now a mess since I decided to make a big batch of pancakes with the sourdough starter. I will be freezing the extras for busy mornings.
I did follow some blogs just so I can keep up and not miss out on them. It's a bit easier.
I have super straight, thin hair. It started to go grow when I was 18. I have colored my hair since my early 20's by 25 I had more grays than some of you do now. I would not even want to see what it's like with no color. Hubby has dark hair which he completely shaves off. He does not have a single gray hair on his head. His dad is in his 70's and no grays.

Well, I feel like I have aged ten years in just the last year with my mom's situation with id theft twice and her health situation. I want to color my hair so badly. I have so much grey hair now.
One time I did not have as much grey, but decided to color my hair. Two weeks later, dh says, "Did you color your hair?" lol I said, "Two weeks ago."

Ruth, dh knew that I wanted to color my hair. He says, "Did you color your hair." My reply, "Nope" lol....and this is with all of my grey hair. I want to get my hair cut again before coloring it. I wanted to color my hair before mil came over, but that didn't happen. Years ago, when I started getting grey hair, my mil would say, "Oh you are getting grey hair."

Steph, he's a very good looking fellow, how come the guys always get the curls and the thick hair? Not fair.
Well I had great intentions of doing things last night. I did make yoyos, I found my camera and then -the sinus headache from hell, so I spent the night taking pain pills, steaming my head, all my little rituals, but this one is a real stinker! And speaking of stinkers, i can't smell the skunk any more so I guess that was just a little warning whiff to say : I'm back! I washed down my last dose of pain meds around five this morning, I've taken more than I;m supposed to but now at least aI can function, sort of. I started sewing my nine patch strips together and they look so cheerful and sweet to me. I'[ll take some pictures later.; I just get so ticked off when i get one of these big galloping pain extravaganzas...such a bore.
One time when my kids were pretty small this woman I know was going to put henna on her hair and she said, oh come on you old deadbeat, it will make your hair shiny, not colorful. She claimed it was clear henna. I COULD HAVE GONE HUNTING WITHOUT A HAT, IT WAS SHINY ALL RIGHT.. I just have that mouse brown hair, not very interesting....My daughter has beautiful chestnut brown hair, she likes to dye it magenta or purple occasionally, and it always looks great.
Oh Jeez, I'm babbling like the village idiot, time for more coffee and back to the sewing machine. ope you all are having a relaxing day, and soaking up a bit of sun....

Thomas's hair is super thick to boot! Because of how pretty his silver is I decided to quit fighting and match him..LOL
Autumn, Thomas had the usual normal short man hair until we got started in life together...his free spirit let loose and there's no turning back....he's finely being who he really is...*amazing how some women HAVE to dominate a husband*...anyhow he normally wears a beard too but can't wear one right now for safety reasons at work.
Bonne, That's something that Red has no grey hair....geesh, he'll be the one at 75 walking around with the beautiful red while everyone else matches unless they are still clutching their henna or peroxide..LOL

My mom didn't start getting grey hair until about 6 months ago, and she just turned 73. I wonder where I get the early grey from. It started about 5 0r 6 years ago.
Yep, I am planning on getting my hair cut this week. I may even have them color my hair for me.

"clear henna" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
True henna makes your hair carrot top red. It doesn't mask the hair, but adds a translucent coating, so if you have dark hair it will only look reddish when the sun shines on it. Light hair will color the brightest. It looks natural because it colors each strand based on that strands original color and doesn't mask it all one color. "neutral" henna is available, but isn't the same. "Henna" that makes hair black isn't henna at all, but some other compounds. The best henna's are from Egypt or Pakistan and they are ground specifically for hair use~the one's from herb stores are too gritty. I get mine at Indian markets. Old men are attracted to henna'ed hair, so beware if you try it. LOL Seriously, I get the most comments from old men and older ladies that used it back in the 40's. Oh, and it's fairly permanent color, not like the boxed colorings that fade over a few weeks.

My mother used henna in her younger days. My dad was against any hair dye, makeup, etc, so she was drab brown until she divorced him. Sometime in the mid 50's, she decided to be a blonde, which was not really flattering on her and then went to red. Kept it red until just a few months before she died. She told me for years she had no gray hair and I thought it was BS. Damn if she wasn't right, the hair growing out was brown, not any grays. Sorry mom :) The hairdresser at the assisted living loved to experiment with dyes on her. One time it was really bright...she asked how I liked it and I told her if she had any thoughts of being a highway construction flagger, she would not need one of the orange vests! She laughed and loved it. Was known at the place as the tiny redhead with big boobs. I was blonde several times in my life, when I dig outand share the 'country music star photos' taken in the early 70's, you'll see. My sister was/is a hairdresser and I worked in the shop as receptionist during high school. Haven't done anything in more than 30 years and it gets more gray all the time. Having been dishwater blonde anyway, they don't show as much as on someone with darker hair. Some think I have it streaked, but it's just the way it decides to grow. Larry, Mr straight as an arrow (except for all the tattoos after he bought the Harley) has about the same haircut as when we started dating in 1960. His was reddish blonde and mostly gray now too. My son has curly/wavy beautiful hair, but also seborreic dermititis (sp?) and keeps his buzzed nearly bald. Loved it long in high school, really nice hair. Daughter has hair like her dad, fine but lots of it. Dark blonde/light brown. She had really nice long hair until maybe 6-8 years ago and has been keeping it short. |

My mom went from brunette to really light blonde one day when I was in junior high school and my dad came in from work and never noticed! I remember we all stood around waiting for his comments and he didn't say anything. Later that evening I guess he finally looked at her and noticed. Of course, this is the guy who went to bed one night and landed on the floor because she had changed the furniture around that day, he should have known to always check because she was always changing something....

Funny you are all talking about hair today. I got mine cut this morning!! Posted the new me on my blog today. I am not sure if I need to color it or not. It is getting so light as I get older...maybe too light?

The last time I had my hair cut, the woman cut it wrong. When my hair is layered, then I do not have problems with the hair frizzing up. I have very thick hair, but not as thick as some.

Ruth, I don't mind washing clothes in the wringer washer! It washes really nice! I don't even mind hanging them on the line! What I don't like is putting things away! I need to go through all of the kids clothes and get rid of some stuff! When everything is washed there is no room for it all! I have been getting on the kids really well to pick up their own stuff, so that is cutting down on all of the time I spend cleaning!
Bonne, I have always wanted to dye my hair with Henna, but I was always afraid it would come out to bright red! If I didn't dye mine it would be well over half gray! It does turn almost blond in the summer though with nice streaks!
