Right now, I have to finish some embroidered pillowcases, crochet some dish clothes for a barter, make a tea cozy and a spring craft for swaps. Plus, the chicken project~that's what I'll call it.

That's what is keeping me busy these days.

I said I would only get 8 hens, too. Now let's see what happens when it is all said and done. LOL

I hope to get caught up tonight. Tomorrow I go to see my mom. I was supposed to go on Tuesday, but they called me up and told me that the different blood work for kidneys indicated that the levels were at the critical stage. My mom has been refusing dialysis because she has been sick. My oldest son informed me that his classmate is coming over on Friday morning. My whiz computer son is helping the classmate.

The doctor said that at least it was not strep throat. The throat is swollen and red. The only thing that the doctor could say was that it was a virus. If it does not clear up in a week, then my son has to go back to the doctor.

Carol, I have time to relax after we come back from the airport.

As for my mother. Over a year ago, she refused dialysis for 3 weeks, and that the doctor told my mom that she had no choice but to go to the hospital. We almost lost her then. The blood work showed that my mom was very critical. This time it was 1 week without dialysis. I did research on the Internet and looked at the normal levels of the tests run. I am going to show my mom, because my mom was in denial about the results.

Thanks for the support for my work-related decision. I don't sleep much during this time of year, and the dreams I have are very weird and freaky, which must be from the stress and constant demands on my time. To be honest, the ability to sew more each day and to be able to keep my house reasonably clean all week are part of it too. Being able to talk to friends either online or on the phone more are important as well.

I am busy working on a quilt top from a BOM that is almost done. Will post it to the blog this weekend. Also, I will post my favorite and perhaps BEST top sometime this weekend. Just hoping for a sunny day to show it off.
It's the embroidered one I was doing at the quilt shop last year. It really came out nice!!

Time for bed. Hope to talk to you all tomorrow for a while. My SIL is coming down for a few days, so I will have some relaxing time with her.

Carol Sue: YAY!! A treadle!!?? Where did you get it?

Sharon: Hope your mom hears you out about her needs. That can be tough. I imagine I will be a "denial" person when those things happen to me as I age.

Shery-lyn. My mom told my brother and myself over a year ago when we got the results of the blood work, that the tests were wrong.

I printed out the papers from the web, which show what the normal levels are. Her potassium level was extremely high as well, so at 5:30 yesterday morning, they had to give my mom something to get out all the potassium from her body.

How many "owl" ladies do we have here? Steph, Naomi, Ruth, Jess, Karin in Maine...who else? I have a couple of tiny owl collectibles that can go to new homes. Can you believe, something I don't collect but have anyway :) Email me and I'll put the names in a hat...no, not Naomi's new Fedora, that's already in a box.

will wait a day or two for everyone who wants "in" to email me. Not a big deal, but for someone who loves owls they're cool.

Actually, Jess, your kids get stuff, very little has ever been for you. The vintage flower frog and that strange but cool (I thought) brass rooster are about all I can think of that's been for just you.

okay, your turn to post/blog a photo of it...I was surprised when I saw it had been made in Italy, then I knew it had to go live at your house :)
Not at all child friendly, would cut them badly I think with all the sharp edges.

very good, I really would feel badly if someone got hurt by it. You know, I have collected scales for many many years and never have bought an egg scale. Very seldom seen in my shopping excursions unless I go into an antique store and usually dont like their prices.

Naomi, yes you do. Saw a very cool hat yesterday, but it had too many obvious moth holes up close. Picky about what I buy, even at a good price, if something is damaged like that.
