yes, sheryl's quilts always look perfect to me, like a loving granny carefully stored em in a cedar chest in the attic, next to a muslin and wire dress form and a slightly greyed mirror..oh to be one of sheryl's grand kids

Autumn, I do agree that being safe in New Orleans...scary town. When they were in Atlanta, he went out on his skateboard and got lost; called my son for directions to get back to the hotel. Not a good place for him to be out at night skateboarding. Grandson will be 19 next month, but no street sense after living in "blink and you miss it" towns most of his life. I had told him to stay close to where he needed to be during the long layover in Chicago, so he wouldn't miss his flight. Sheeshh, give me more gray hairs worrying about him. |

when my son (his uncle) and I are the only ones who care enough to help him and be sure he's safe, it's natural to worry. I've earned each and every gray hair and probably not done yet. Luckily, since my hair was very light to begin with, it just looks like I've had it frosted with a silver streak in the front. Hahaha, my sister thought she was the only one to have that but we have cousins on Dad's side who all have it too. |

Skateboarding in Atlanta at night and getting lost, geeezzz that would add a gray hair or a 100!!!!!! Mine aren't adding to my silver streaks, I have had them since I was in my 30's, so this means it was my dd and ds....lmbo, not even. Just life.

i have come to the conclusion of what to do when you cant sleep and it involves a frying pan to the head. what is this last night i slept thru the night and all i have done all night long is toss and turn and without a wink of sleep yet. oooohhhh i am so frustrated with this, which of course only makes it worse. i even read most of a book, usually i start to drop the book cause my eyes cant stay open but nope not tonight. i have things i want to get done tommorrow and at this rate it wont happen, ha ha and it is already tommorrow......arrrggggghhhhhh ok i feel just a touch better now gonna try a glass of milk and a hot shower to relax

Good morning!!
I have finally heard from city hall and will need to go before the city council to have my own chicks. It was funny that this was addressed in this past issue of Hobby Farms Home. I will be looking into what exactly I need to do. I think I am going to make this a homeschooling project and get the kids involved. We will research and write up a proposal for the city council. Hopefully this will work. I want my own chickens. I think it will be a good learning for the kids.
I have to go look at Malphi's blog now. I love her stuff. I also love English gardens so beautiful. I have a stack of old Victoria magazines and they have the best pictures of England and English gardens.
Sheryl-lyn~glad to hear that you have made a good decision for yourself. I'm sure you feel relieved. I love your attic sewing room. My husband is envious of your wood pile.
Sheryl-lyn's quilts are fabulous. I was over at her blog yesterday just looking at all those wonderful quilts. So talented.
So is Karin!! Such gorgeous quilts and fabulous ideas. I absolutely love them all.
Autumn~I hope you are feeling better today. Take care of yourself.
Maybe someday I will be able to make a beautiful quilt. First I need to get that room in the basement fixed up just for me.

Morning Ladies. Have a DDS appt to finish the crown replacement this morning. Need to take pics of yesterdays finds that jumped into my cart. Yes, was "bad" again. Truly vintage gray enamel coffee pot, rhinestone/jet necklace, unusual pair of childs shoe/sandals, two bronze baby shoe sets (yes, have a thing for baby and childrens shoes), summer clothes for Jess' little girls are what come to mind right now. Two 50's era Milton Bradley games. Can't forget the Gorham porcelain/bisque doll with a music box and long christening dress and little gold bracelet...should not have been with the kids dolls, so I had to rescue her. Just needs a little bonnet for her head and I;m sure I have one for her. $2.50 |

Hey, Miss Ronna!! What part of Atlanta was your grandson in? There are some places you don't want to be out in at night, but there are places where it's okay. Our city isn't all bad, just partly bad. lol Hope things go well at the dentist.

Karin..they were staying at the Holiday Inn Select on Capitol Ave. They stay fairly close to whatever stadium the SuperCross event is held. Tyler is just so naive in many ways-he thought he had his landmarks to get back but didn't. All's well that ends well. Bad areas in all cities, but some are more scary than others. |

Ruth, you know we would vote yes for the chickens for you. Great homeschooling project for sure.
Hi Karin from GA, Atlanta has some lovely parts, hope I wasn't negative there girl. Every city has those spots where you don't want to be late at night. Ours included. How are your chickens? Mine have layed all winter here. They are quite the ladies.
Oh pictures of your finds Ronna, yippeee. Yes, I live vicariously through you!!!!! This could be a good thing or not so good!!!!!! LOL, see I can give you excuses to go treasure troving.....grin.
Good morning Jess.....yes, morning for me. Shock and surprize isn't it....lol. Hey feed the little kitties and now I am napping....lol.
Teresa girl, yes, the frying pan method....how well I know that one. Me thinks mr caleb needs to visit his nana so mama can take a nap!!!!!

Um, yeah. Anywhere near the stadium is not so great. :( Only if you are at the stadium or out and about in broad daylight. No worries, Carol Sue. You are right, every city has its good and bad. The girls are doing really well. They too layed all winter, just not as much. Maybe 2-3 eggs a day as opposed to the five I am getting now. Really, they are such amazing creatures. Imagine laying an egg every day! How do they do it? I think it's just a miracle. Are you seeing signs of Spring where you are? Our temps have been in the high 70's this week. Amazing, since we had snow a week ago!! Honestly. Take care. :)

Hello, ladies!!
I really can't wait to go through this process now with the kids. I think it will be a great learning experience for them in so many ways. I just really hope that the outcome is what we hope.
Karin~I love Georgia. I always think of the beautiful old houses. Yes there is good and bad everywhere.
Jess~Thanks~I can't wait to see the chicken coop when it's completed.
We finally finished school and I'm tired. Unfortunately, this house needs a good cleaning. I will be busy trying to make this mess go away. I have some wonderful bread rising, too. I can't wait until it's done. I shared my starter with the lady who has the art classes at her house.

yes, we were in atlanta a yr ago, broad daylight looking for a place to park to see the world of coke, there was a man chasing another man with a thick wooden bat, right down the middle of the street. we were so surprised as we had spent a fair amount of tome in atlanta last spring and never saw anything like that.
good luck ruth. i am a renegade, i would just get a few and be illegal, i am always so impressed with people like you ruth.
John is available to start the coop on monday afternoon hopefully. It will be a week long project for us...we will all be involved. I hope we have good weather.
I am picking up the australorps, sumatrans, and light brown dutch bantams this weekend, as well as an 8 month old golden phoenix rooster.
johns gonna kill me!

Thanks, Jess~I just don't want to have the trouble that will inevitably come if I don't do this the right way. I know my neighbors thrive on problems. The cops are always at their house for one reason or another and I know they would not let it rest.
If I do it the right way then they can't say anything.

Gals, my mil goes home tonight. Dh is super busy at work today, so yesterday, he made plans for his mom to be at our house. So.. I will be leaving soon to pick her up. I had other plans for today, but I understand why dh chose to do it this way. There will be no time to get her later, and this is more convenient. I also have to take my oldest son to the doctor. My son has had a really bad sore throat since Sunday and it is hard to swallow. Hopefully everything will work out so that I can pick up dh, then get mil and then off to the airport.
I am wiped. Can't wait to catch up on my sleep.
