Jess did a fab job getting Ronna's pictures up!!! Bravo!!

We're going to get a 4-H raised steer later this year. Ck into that as well~they are "organically" raised and are sold after the project. Geez, need another freezer.

I had to take care of a honey do list today. Dh wanted to continue to work out in the garage, so he wanted me to shop for bolts, etc. It wasn't in my plans for today. I usually only shop at Wally World (Wal-Mart) for my mom's weekly snacks. I realized how much 12 months of the same snacks cost, and it isn't cheap.

SS is only giving my mom the bare minimum each month, which no person could live on if they were in their home. I am still buying groceries for her, since the food isn't always the greatest at the center. Tomorrow, I am taking my mil out to lunch with her good friend tomorrow. Her friend is the one who I will give excess fabric to. The woman and her friends are volunteer sewers for the Red Cross, and they make things for the VETS, etc.

Isn't it great to have friends...I'm being serious for a change, not sarcastic. First Bonne sets up a blog for me and then Jess posts photos to it. I see quilts I've forgotten I have, how cool. I'm not sure the bed full of transfers is mine, don't look familiar...but anything is possible. I'd forget my head sometimes if it wasn't attached to my body.
We could buy beef from my stepmom's grandson, but I really don't want any dealings with the obnoxious snot. There are several good places to buy local and if I ever get my freezer down to having room, should do that. Bought a fairly small upright, thinking for the two of us wouldn't need a big one anymore. Haha, it's crammed full and not junk. Since using the Foodsaver, no such thing as freezer burned food anymore.

Sharon, We call it Wally World also! In fact that is what my kids call it!

Yipee Bonne, Now that you found craigslist for me I have been checking it out! I am looking at a side-by-side fridge for $100, but I am waiting to hear back about a free one! I just don't know if it's a side-by-side!

There are no meat lockers anywhere around here at all! There are some places down bu Phoenix, but that's quite a distance from me!

I am excited about planting a garden! Almost bought a lemon tree, but since we have no idea how much longer we will be decided to pass for now!

We lost so much food after the hurricane that it really makes me cautious about filling more than one freezer.

Ronna- the foodsaver is a good deal for veggies in the freezer or just meat? We were thinking of getting one this year but I actually hate gadgety things and wondered if it would be more trouble than it's worth.

Blessings,
Autumn

Autumn, a Foodsaver is a money saving device, honestly. I didn't have one for a long time and my sister would buy each new model as it came on QVC. That's a bit too much, she has every size Nesco roaster oven too.
Do yourself a favor and don't buy the cheapest one, though. Being able to adjust the amount of air sucked out for fragile items and sealing time are good to have. I see them occasionally at Tuesday Morning stores. Cabela's and other sporting goods places sell them. A professional model can also handle repeated use instead of needing to cool down between bathches when it's time to do a bunch. I see the cheaper ones and "clones" all the time in thrift stores, never the top of the line models. If you shop at Sams or Costco, they have a good price and the best way to buy the bag material. Even paying the extra 10% if you don't have a card makes it worthwhile.

I saw one at Target for around 40 bucks- is that a clone or the real deal? I haven't really looked other than casually.

Target sells the name brand, but for $40 it will be a basic one. I'm not one for all the bells and whistles unless they're ones I'll use. If you're going to be doing stuff from the garden, etc, I'd go for the better one. Not sure about the other brands, but really would stick with Foodsaver if I had the choice.
Jess, you'd use the heck out of it too.

Jess, the only real reason is because I would like to have more shelves in the freezer so I can see what I have!!

I got a new washer and I know it may sound crazy, but I am kind of excited about it! It's an old Maytag wringer washer and it washes wonderful!

Yes, I want one of those too..I know Bev uses one...wonder which one she uses? Maybe she'll spot this and pop in and let us know. Ronna, I'll check my local Tuesday Mornings..have two of them within 20 miles.

Thanks for that info. I want a small freezer to put down in the laundry room and I'm getting another Honda generator in the event we loose power. Though it will rarely happen up there I gotta have one because my water pump will shut off too! geesh, you never know how much you depend on water til you don't have it..

Autumn, I'm right there with you on the eyeglasses! I've got no finance charge til first of June...so gotta get these progressives paid for...it was a real drag not being able to get by with cheap priced ones that Bonne told me about.
