Oh, now I see, "farmgirl fashion". I'd just offend people~better stay put here. LOL Of course, I offended people reading my blog once when I got political. MY blog. Whatever happened to freedom of speech. Knuckleheads. Oh, keep me from typing in "sewing machine" and "s10 pickup" on Craigslist!! After my hub's old s10 got rearended and wrecked, he's missed it so much. We loved our "little Red" pickup~such a workhorse and dependable and cheap to run. **sigh** Well, off to pick up some horse poopy from Craigslist.

Bonne, what a flashback, I'd forgotten all about Glamour Dos and Dont's! It certainly is a bit more terrifying these days.....
The wind is howling here, the ice has disappeared from my driveway, I'm so thrilled to see some dirt...
Oops, I better go do some more laundry, I'm definiteoly in the slow speed lane today.

Steph...Bonne has been nice lately and not bugging me about my sad neglected blog...can't be holding your breath waiting for me, as those who know me know. I was mentioned in MJF mag awhile back, when Betty in WI shared the abused Toni dolls with me. Yes, they're still waiting to be fixed up, along with most everything else. I think fitting in with whatever topic is at hand is more likely to get one's name printed more than being witty. Most of my wit is sarcasm anyway. In this area, freecycle and the barter/garage sale lists seem to have more good stuff than Craigs List. I have been checking recently to see if there's anything to interest me. Saw a quilt I'd not bought from the lady in Reno for sale at an antique store-I know she sells to him what she doesn't get sold on her own. I see her often in the thrift shops (or used to, when I was a regular) but the quilts she bought some years back when her daughter was decorating with them. She doesn't know what makes one more valuable than others and that's good for me :) For the most part, I've been behaving and not spending much, time or $$ in the shops. Did buy a celluloid dresser set, still in original box a couple weeks ago. Think there are 10 pieces; Mirror, bruch, comb, two glass jars with celluloid covers, shoe button hook, nail file and buffer. Can't remember what else. Will take photos. To find one still in it's box, 20's or so vintage is so rare. Couple pieces have a spot or two of discoloration, which is normal, but the mirror is perfect and they usually are damaged. I don't think it was ever used at all, just looked at occasionally and put back in the box. The Catholic charity thrift shop has opened a section with all vintage clothing and accesories. Some true finds in there. Bought a very nice beaded handbag, made in Belgium the same day. Yes, I do need to take lots of photos. I don't collect handbags, why do I have a dozen now????? This is how it gets out of hand for me, and more than 3 of anything is a collection. Suppose an etsy shop for vintage goodies is in my future, at least it won't cost a lot to try selling stuff of value. |

That's what I love about you Ronna, your sarcasm. Same with Karin. LOL Jess blesses me via email with sarcasm She's well-behaved on public forums. Send any pics you want on your blog Ronna, and I'll post 'em for you. Shoot, you're working full time~I'll give you a deserved break from the hounding. ha!
Home Depot has fruit trees in if anyone is wanting to plant those. I got 2 peach and 1 apple today and the prices were very low compared to recent years. $17 for the apple and $23 for the peach. Now I won't have to rely on the generosity of neighbors all the time~I'll have a regular fruit farm with peaches, apples, raspberries, cherries, apricot(if those ever decide to produce!), grapes.

Well, I just spent $100.00 at Lowe's on mulch and dirt and organic seeds! Now I just have to figure out where to put a garden! I also picked up Mother Earth News! Hopefully I will be able to grow some stuff! I am so leary anymore about buying stuff from the market! I don't like my veggies to have the same shelf life of a twinkie! I have noticed that the veggies from the farmers market don't last as long as the ones from the grocery store!
I think I am also going to look into the meats from Mary Jane! I just noticed on the last package of meat I bought that it says product of U.S, Canada and Mexico! I am not to keen on meat from Mexico!

Absolutely Monica, look for your local slaughter house...I always found the good ones rural based..they processed deer, goat and cattle for people and they also have their own fresh meats...the one that I used had the best fresh pork I'd tasted since raising my own hogs for slaughter. And it was soooooo reasonable!!!

Oh, gee, I'm usually so well behaved on the forum...oh, well, there's some sarcasm for you!..thankfully there is depth to the friendships behind the scenes... I ignite from time to time but try to remember that *freedom of speech* is not allowed everywhere.
I do tend to defend my rights in this country of mine and that can be offensive to some. Amazing how many don't take a stand for anything or ride the fence to suit the situation so they don't ever look bad.

Jess, we are not cookie cutter girls..LOL We are our *own woman* like it or not. Immaculate and well mannered women don't have as much fun as we do. Sense of humor and imagination is more important in my world.
