Well, mil is here. We are going out to eat tonight. That is the safest thing to do, because I am wiped, and mil has such a small list of things that she can or will eat. As hard as breakfast is, it is still the easiest meal to prepare for mil.

Sharon~Yes, I need to lay down now just from reading that list. You sure have alot on your plate. So great of you to take care of your mom, though.

Carrie~yes housework sucks and it never goes away.

I finished my apron for the apron swap. I am putting it in the mail tomorrow. I am happy with how it turned out. I hope my partner likes it.

I have to finish my St. Pat's craft now before I go to the post office tomorrow. Back to work.

I had an idea for another apron swap. How about a clothespin apron?

Thats what I was thinking before and we could through in Lindas request for theme ie: spring or easter I could use more practice on aprons especially my abilities to follow pattern and sizing

Yep, I see Bev and Autumn asking about my move....we had an adventure traveling together in the 16 foot truck loaded with fabric and other studio stuff and a few pieces of furniture.

You know we arrived to busted pipes last month...got them fixed...upon this arrival..cut on water only to scream and run for the pump shut off...two more leaks but these were INSIDE! omg, in the laundry room ceiling and at the bathroom toilet upstairs. We had enough towels and did have a mop thank goodness..that took about 2 hours to clean up...some of the water upstairs went into the a/c vent which happened to be in the laundry room ceiling so had to poke holes in that to drain water out and is still dripping.

We finally left and got a hotel room, today we went back and unloaded the truck...everything into the greatroom area. We are going to wait til springtime to move anything else...we've got to get past the freezing temps..the lower level (basement) ceiling is where the plumbing is so it's ALL gonna get checked out under pressure and all get replaced or fixed..then we'll have the dual a/c system installed so the power bill will not put us further in the poor house then we already are..LOL

I took pics of all totes of my fabric and everything else..I'll blog it when I get back this weekend.

So another chapter in the ongoing saga of moving.. It's proving to be quite expensive..we really thought we had a few years before replacing the central system but sadly we are wrong.

So I think by late spring we'll be getting things organized a bit.

Oh, and Bev, I read about your gothic beast catalytic furnace/fireplace...that is the type we have decided to put in the greatroom. I know they make many different sizes...I have passed three different fireplace/stove stores since we got here so I'll shop for that this summer and be ready for next winter.

Tennessee had gone up 20% all at once on electricity....there is enough wood laying around the woods where we live to burn for our lifetime and so many locals with it already cut and ready to deliver....so that will help offset the high cost of electricity...gotta do something or I can easily see a $500 month electricity bill and that can't happen.

Talk to more when I return,
Steph

Steph, I hope the rest of the moving is nice and quiet for you! Our electric went up 35-40%! We use our wood stove in the winter for most of our heat!

Autumn, Do we have a new baby yet?

I hope everyone is having a great morning!!

Steph~so sorry to hear about more water trouble. This spring cannot get here fast enough.

Teresa~nice to hear from you. OK~now where are those owl hat pictures?

Carrie~I'm with you on needing more practice with following patterns. This one took me a while and I had to take apart a couple of things but it is now finished and I like it. I embellished it a little bit with some lace and crochet trim I got at the antique store.

Bonne~you're going to be making soap forever now. LOL

I am working on my St. Pats craft. Finishing it up and putting it in the mail today. Kids are working on school. I need to get busy.

good morning ladies...well here in indiana it is 40 degrees, and spring is popping up. Little green things all over the place. So that brings m e to my next order of business, not only is it spring, but distemper season. YAY!! So my dogs were going nutso...I looked out the window, something unrecognizable was running across my yard towards my hutches. So I fly out the door, no shoes on, screaming at whatever it is, as i round the forsythia bush..look at that...a distemper strickin fox jumping up at my rabbits from below trying to get a hold of anything. And it was a nasty sick mangy matted one....so Im screaming and weilding a huge stick and barely phased the darn thing. So finally I started whackin at it and it ran off. My dogs still cannot calm down. They did their jobs, so I am thankful.

Oh, my goodness, Jess~that's horrible. I'm glad that you didn't get hurt and your bunnies didn't either. Good things the dogs did their jobs.

Right now it is 55 degrees here. The sun is shining and it is so nice. Unfortunately, there is raining coming our way this afternoon into tomorrow. We are getting 2 cords of wood delivered today and will need to throw it into the yard and stack it tomorrow. I hope it's somewhat nice out there. Next week it is back into the low 20's. :( I really want the sunshine and warmth to stay.

Hubby's godmother had her surgery finally yesterday. They kept postponing it. The dr. thinks it went well. She is still in ICU and sedated so we just wait and see.

Jess, I thought that our bills were high. Well, our electricity bills are higher than our gas bills. That is a lot of money for a gas bill.

I am glad that the fox didn't get your bunnies. We have coyotes around here. One time, I went to get my dh from work in the late evening hours, and there was a coyote running down the sidewalk with a kitten in its mouth. I can't stand to see things like that.

Morning (ho my, it is afternoon already, here) gals!

Steph, glad to see you surface for a breath of air...yikes you have had your hands full.

Jess....whack a fox! I have a mental picture of this fiasco!

Well, it is in the 50's here....feeling like Spring...but raining cats and dogs. I am packing up (once again) to head to the farm to stay for the weekend. Too rainy to transport boxes this run.

BTW triplet goaties born yesterday....pics on farm blog....more pics later today. We have two Mamas that still have to deliver. YAY...I love kidding season!

Jess~I can relate with the gas bill. Ours was almost $200 and we use the wood stove all day. It's is crazy how much it has gone up. I think we would be at $500 if we didn't use the wood.

Bev~congrats on the new goats. I can't wait to see the pics on your blog.

I want goats, too. Not sure when that will happen.

I want a cow for the milk so I can make cheese too. Don't like drinking goats milk.
Dug out my Play Dough recipe:
2 1/2 C. Flour
1/2 C. Salt
3 T. Oil
1 T. Alum
2 C. Boiling Water
1 T. Food Coloring
Add food color and oil to water and bring to a bubbling boil. Add to dry ingredients and mix as fast as you can. Then knead like bread. Store in fridge.

I have a silly question for all of you!!! Does anyone else like marshmallow peeps! I absolutely love them, in fact I bought 4 packs at the market today and I hid them because I am not sharing with the kids! The only thing I don't like about them is the eyes! I always pick them off!
