A good primer on bread baking for those of you who might be interested. Anything Rose Levy Berenbaum writes is very thorough and precise.

Thanks, Ronna!!! I am loving bread making.

Bev~We have a timeshare we stay at in Pennsylvania so you don't need to worry about putting us up. I would love to get together with all of you. Visiting your farm sounds awesome, Bev. I will have to figure out some plans for the time we're down there and then we can figure out a date. Oh! I am so excited!!!!!!!

The kids have coop classes. I really need to go get ready. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm still working on my apron. This pattern is really teaching me a few things. I have made mistakes and taken it apart a couple of times but I love what I'm learning. I can't wait to sew more things. I need to go shopping for patterns during Joann's next sale.

Gotta go or we'll be late. I'd much rather be sewing. I think I'll print that on a t-shirt.

This morning Olivia came in while I was on the computer and wanted to climb up on my lap and hug me and it made me think of the fact that some day she won't fit so nice on my lap or not want hugs and kisses from mom and it actually made me get a little bit teary eyed! It's so easy to get caught up in "important" things and miss the treasures right before your eyes! So if you have little ones that still wants hugs and kisses from mommy don't ever miss a chance to do so because someday the chance might be gone!!!

Ronna, I haven't made any bread yet, but Lily smells so good and I have told hubby not to touch her!!!

Carol Sue, I hope you are feeling better! Send me your address, so I can send you the fabric!!

I hope you all have a great morning!!! I am off to spin yarn!

Thanks Jess. My mil arrives today. House is better, but not up to my standards. I will say that it is better than the last time she was here. Dh cleared out a lot of his stuff, which helped. Now, if I could get him to give us our patio back.

well, my hubs is having a terrible time at work right now. My mom was here all week, my sisters hubs came home from Iraq, so we have been attending her family festivities all week. So, my dear dear darling husband called his parents and asked them not to come. I have been trying to clean myhouse up, but geez we are pigs!

Well, Jess, the main thing is that you have happy kids, and that you have fun with them. We can't have horizontal surfaces in this house, because if there is an open space, soon that space is gone. We still have things from mil, and plus now I have all the paperwork from my mom. I try to work on sorting through my mom's things prior to visiting her in the rehabilitation center, and I am so wiped out on Tuesdays between that and doing errands for dh and shopping for her needs and my family, that I don't have any energy when I get home.

My computer desk is a mess, but oh well. I am too tired to do anything else. It has been a long week. My dh remarks to me this morning, "What are your plans for today." Well, geez, I don't know. Lay back and relax. NOPE. I told dh that I was going to clean the bathroom. He said, "Well that would be a good time to put on the new toilet seat." I don't know if he was going to do it, but I put it on (one of those self-closing ones). I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, dusted and dusted. Doesn't sound like much, but it is. I don't know how you do it. Our living room seems roomy once again. Plenty of room for mil to maneuver her walker.

I look at the hall bathroom, and it is due to be painted. It is a small bathroom, but dh takes everything off of the walls, etc.

Jess~you're not pigs, it's just living. I clean and things are always getting dirty here. Then I clean it again when I have a chance. It's a good thing that you don't have to worry about in-laws visiting right now. You and hubs have your plates full. It would be too much stress on both of you to try and entertain the in-laws. Glad to hear that you have been enjoying some festivities with mom and sis.

Autumn~how nice of you to give your daughters those special treats. I'm sure they were thrilled. Keep us updated on the baby. Oh and the eggs.

Sharon~It may not sound like alot but it sure is. Wipes you out just dragging that vacuum around and trying to clean things up. I get wiped out by the time a couple of rooms are dusted and vacuumed and things put away. Is your mil visiting or staying with you?

Well~we went to our coop classes today and one of the kids seemed like they were ok this morning and then during coop her eye gets all cruddy and red and draining. She has pink eye. I really, really hope we don't get it. We may need some breast milk here, Jess. I had never heard it could clear up pink eye.

I remember just spreading out a plastic tablecloth and letting the kids play Playdoh on that for hours. They would have so much fun.

yes, i dont have to be overly worried about the table, as I put together a picnic table in my kitchen, then covered the top and benches in 1/4" ply, then painted it and put all kinds of fun stuff on the top...abc's, numbers, colors, shape, designs, place setting info, etc. so they are just creating away and all are havin a ball. ronna sent the coolest octopus thingo and they love it

Ruth, mil is visiting, but may stay a night or two. It is too hard on the family when she is here the entire time. It doesn't feel like it is our household, but grandma and mil's home.

She will stay most of the time with her long time friend. It gives them a chance to visit. Her friend has cooks that can make whatever my mil wants to eat, and they help with putting mil's stockings on. Well, these are white elastic stockings because mil gets blood clots easily, and this prevents the clots most of the time. Her regular stocking go over the white elastic stockings.

We still pick mil up (mostly me) to take her where she needs or wants to go. Dh takes his mom to her old church on Sundays, and then mil usually goes out to lunch with friends, and then gets dropped off here, where she spends the afternoon and part of the evening with us.

It is a lot of work tending to the many needs of my mil, my mom, and my family, and try to run a business, that it is just exhausting.

Sharon~I was getting tired just reading it all. Whew!!

Jess~that sounds like a fun table. We didn't have a big enough table so they just did it on the floor. Needed to keep the playdoh off the rug.

Autumn, your governor spoke after Obama's speech. It was a great speech, and your state has a great Governor.

It seems that when I have the car, which is usually just on Tuesdays, everyone, except my youngest son has their to do list for mom and wife.

My mom has her grocery list of snacks for me to bring each week. Now, I don't know where it all goes. At least my mom is not gaining weight from it all. Two family size packages of Cheetos (crunchy), 3 bags of cookies, 2 cans of nuts, and one 12 pack of canned soda, plus essentials. She eats it all. The food is not all that great at the rehabilitation center, so she usually does not eat much.

Dh and my oldest son had their shopping list for Costco, and of course, I neede to fill up the tank.

I went early to my mom's house to meet a gardener, who never showed up, or he showed up early and left before the scheduled time. The person did not speak very good English. The yard needs to be done, and now it is another week without anything getting done. I can not get in touch with the regular gardener, because his cell phone number is no longer valid. He has the key to my mom's gate, so it was nice, that I did not have to be there every time he did the yard.

So...while waiting for the gardener to show up, I did housework. Went through old canned goods, found the things my mom wanted, and cleaned some. Every week, I tried to go through things. Yesterday, I went for the morning walk with a neighbor, then took dh to work, son to school, went to mom's house and cleaned, shopped for snacks, visited my mom, and had to go on another shopping errand for her, shopped, got gas, dropped off jeans that I shortened for a friend, went to the post office to mail packages, picked up husband, and then collapsed on the sofa, before cleaning our house. Are you tired now Ruth.

Well, mil's flight is scheduled to arrive in 40 minutes. I usually go with dh, so that I can meet mil, while he parks somewhere outside the airport. My kitchen needs more cleaning, but I am too wiped to do it. Dh was nice and did the dishes yesterday morning, but it is just like laundry. Never ending, as nothing looks like anything was done.
