Autumn~that's great!!!!!!!!!!

Bonne~you and your son seem to have a great relationship. So sorry he has pink eye and you can't go see him.

I have my bread rising. The laundry is put away. Now I need to clean the bathroom so I can have some time to sew.

I'm sitting on my hands about the bread~letting "zeb", my starter, build up more. wahhh!!!
Got the tax refunds done and filed though. My major accomplishment for the day.
Thinking about sewing a wrap skirt~I pulled out one that I'd done last year to wear today and it's so comfy~need more of them. 70 yesterday and 60's today~life is good afterall. lol

Yippeee!! on your EGG Autumn!! I've been mulling over raising chickens~we have so many varmints(skunks,'coons, fox, coyote, hawks) lately though, it would really attract them all the more, but fresh eggs would be delightful.

Too funny, Sharon. I don't think I have any energy but things have to get done. I really didn't even want to leave the house today but the kids' had their gym class so off we went. I stopped at the grocery store to get more flour. The local grocery store has been sending us coupons for free things and 5% off any purchase. So I got a 1 lb. of butter and Thomas Whole Grain english muffins for free and bought a bag of King Arthur flour and got 5% off that.

Bonne~You are a one woman sewing spree. I need to find a place where I can leave my sewing machine out and not have to clear everything. Right now, I use my dining room table. The kids do school there too. I can't leave my sewing spread out. It's a bit of a pain. No room in the kitchen. Maybe I'll have the kids do their school work at the coffee table. Gotta figure something out so I can get more sewing done.

Okay, here's something to check out! If you go to www.recovery.gov you can keep track of how the government is spending the money! If you follow the links you can read all 407 pages of the bill! It's amazing what is in it including 650 million for the analog to digital switch, 4.7 billion to expand public computer center capacity such as computers in libraries and 2.5 billion to give every one access to high speed internet and have 2 choices at that!

To me it's kind of like borrowing money to buy groceries and throwing in a request for money for a new outfit too!!!

Ruth, start working on the basement space for sewing. Invest(ha!) in some good lighting~overhead fluorescent lights aren't terribly expensive, plus a space heater to keep you warm. You can organize it to make it more homey with some inexpensive touches. Go garage saleing this spring for lights, tables/chair, dressers or cubes for storage to expand your workspace into someplace you'd love to go. It CAN be done!

Did you get together with Jess's friend in CT about the treadle yet? You can stash that in the basement, que no?

Hey, Linda, I'm the Suzanne that Bev referred to - we live near Harrisburg. I get up thru Scranton about once a month as my son lives in Syracuse. We'll have to get together sometime! There have been a number of PA girls finding MJF lately...

Bev, Local honey?? You've got a customer... Definitely ready for a get-together anytime, antiquing or whatever...Oh, and I made it to Smile Spinners yesterday, signed up for a couple classes in March.

Ruth, your pkg went out today. Sorry I didn't get it out yesterday, things didn't go as planned...

My MIL passed away this morning - her health had been declining. So now I am discovering that since I wear business casual to work I don't have anything suitable...I think I need to get a few "funeral" clothes around, our relatives are all getting up there. We have to travel about 3hrs away, she lived in western PA. My husband was an only child but we have 4 kids and 4 grandchildren, and we will all be descending on my parents for the next few days so it is going to be hectic...

Sorry for your loss Suzanne!

Been busy with the pregnant girls today-foot massages and pedicures on the front porch- surely it can't be long now!!!
I have this feeling it will start tonight.

I'm keeping the phone by the bed-just in case!!!!

I got a copy of the apron in the MJF Mag(oct. I think) copied at Kinkos today. Looks super easy to do- I think I'll whip one up tonight! It's all one piece so it should work out really fast.

I am so happy my hens are FINALLY starting to lay!!! I was worried I may have gotten a bunch of OLD girls!!!!
Dr wants to do another thyroid test tomorrow- see if it's improved from last time.
I was tested for diabetes in August- so I guess it's just menopause and the past catching up with me- you know-genetics

Blessings,
Autumn

Yay, Autumn, an egg!!! That is so exciting. Now here is a little scoop on fresh eggs...let them sit in your fridge for at least 2 weeks before hard boiling, or you won't be able to peel them well...and they end up looking like they have been through the blender.

Well, Bonne...that is a great idea...the dog...except the one line that says...."doesn't like other dogs" And you know how I am about my Maddie and Sadie.... We are going to put a big fence around our beehives, just like we did around our vege garden. But, thanks for the idea.

Ok, laundry....no there are no laundromats. Yes, I already have a few washboards...they are the decor in my laundry room....and I always have that old washer...you might remember the picture of the one in my sewing room...wooden...with the hand cranked agitator and wringer. So, I will make do...or go Pioneer!! Actually, I talked with my contractor and asked him that if he could do nothing else before May 1st, at least to have my laundry room finished so I can move the washer and dryer into it and use it until the rest of the house is finished....but I do still like the picture of me down by the stream!!!!

I spent the day at the farm today...going over things with the contractor. I hate to go on and on, but I am just about to bust myself with excitement. I try not to talk about it incessantly...so please excuse me....but this is all too much fun!! Oh how I cannot wait for all the building to be finished.

Bonne~I was thinking of getting it all set up down there. That means more purging and reorganizing. I will start as it gets warmer. It's too cold down there now. Jess is still working on the treadle for me.

Suzanne~thanks for the soap. I really appreciate it. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Bev~Just think of the nice strong arms you'll have from doing all that scrubbin in the creek.

Monica~that is so ridiculous. I can't believe what they are spending money on when our country is in so much trouble. I think they all need to be fired.

PA ladies~I will be in PA for five days in June. I will be in the Poconos area. I don't know if any of you are near there.

Oh Ruth....Linda, Yarnmamma is probably the closest to the Poconos. I am about 2 hours away...but would definitely run up there to meet you!! Or, if you wanted to take a 2 or 3 hour trip a little further south, you could come to Bee Haven Acres!!!! Unfortunately I cannot put you up, cause you would have to stay in the 20 X 20 space with me, hubbs, 2 huge dogs, and 2 cats. You would definitely be ready to shoot yourself after that experience!!

Hey Bonne.....I picked up Mother Earth News....Grow Your Own Food issue and got a great idea for Hubbs birthday. He has been talking about growning shiitake mushrooms....and there was an article and link to order your own log seeded with shiitake spores....So I am giving him a fungus for his birthday! I thought that was pretty unique. He will love it (shhhh, don't tell, it is a secret)

Autumn alright you finally got an egg ( I read they only usually lay 1 or 2 a day) they like the light (which I also read 14 hours a day) and they do not like cold or drafts I am getting prepared for the day I can have them.
I am sure that baby will be here soon too. Glad some good stuff is happening.

Bev laundry at the river can't wait for pics

Suzanne, sorry for you loss and safe journey there.

Bev, your hives sound great and washing by the stream....hmmmm,
arm muscles in deed.

Ruth, yes, when the weather warms up, I agree you should make it your sewing therapy area. I can sure understand waiting till it warms up.

Autumn, an egg, an egg, an egg!!!!! Yippeee!!!!!!!

Bonne you and Jess, you are whiz's when it comes to getting things done. Ruth too!!!!!

On my couch, heated rice bags, praying for some release, I did wipe out my frig earlier....it was a must. Spill something and you have to clean it up, you may as well finish it up. Only I did a shortened version of it. It made me feel better like I got something accomplished. Grin.
