Ok, Ruth asked my hubby if he had any idea, he said let me think a bit, he isn't sure yet. Hopefully he will have some answer that will help. Oh wait, he asked....none of the burners do this, just the oven? That is the first question, I am sure there will be more.

Carol Sue~it's only the oven that does it. It's crazy~maybe possessed~just kidding. LOL
Jess~So sorry to hear about all this trouble. Are your in laws the kind that would come and help or the kind that wants to be entertained? That makes all the difference in the world. It would be great if they came and dug right in and helped with things to make it easier on you. Maybe they could even watch the kids so you and hubby could go out alone. Is that something they would do or am I just being crazy here? You got so much done today. Doesn't that feel great!

He has waited for this office for so long, dang it you guys need a break for petes sake!!!!!!! Just my opinion
My butt is on the couch again, resting because I have to. Later this week will have energy to do more, fa few days of rest, wise on my part.
Thanks Ronna for giving me the what for, needing to take care of myself and immediate family. I needed that. Count on her to keep me in check because she knows I run myself down helping others and don't take care of my body like I must. And it is a must. Still learning some of that stuff. Niece is out of shcool thanks to a pushy aunt. She has something major wrong, I loked up ms and asked her 25 questions of symptoms she had 21 of them. But who knows, we shall see and she must deal with it. Not me. I have to deal with my own, dealing with the fibro.
It is raining like crazy here and it sounds wonderful. It is rain and not snow and will hopefully melt the ice bergs we still have from December. It isn't pretty snow, just ice chunks in the yards and roads. LOL. I love the sound of rain so the day has been enjoyable in that part. So gonna go back and read I don't remember how many pages....lol always good reading though

Jess, you have done a lot. I applaud your husband for contacting the company. I ordered some new bobbins for my machine, because I was told that my bobbins are worn out. That was a month ago. I e-mailed them to cancel the order, but will call them as well. I found some elsewhere.

Customer service has been going downhill for years. Now in addition in light of the current miseries many companies have reduced employee hours in lieu of laying them off. So the work doesn't get done as it should.
…and another reason is that so many people do not give a sh&& about or like their job *recession or not*
Ruth, My BIL had 20 years in with a bank and was *replaced* due to eliminating Branch Manager positions...several months later they hired in people at half of what he had been paid and gave the position a new name. He was 40 years old when that happened...he went on to find an even better job and retired at 62, 9/11 happened, took about 35% of their money from the market..it was finally recovering and then the housing slide that started almost 3 years ago started messing with the money again in the market.., then hurricane Katrina came along and completely destroyed everything they owned and insurance decided not to pay a cent....they lived in a small RV for several years....after a major class action suit they finally were paid about 18 months ago..now they are fulltime RVers...so far they are hanging in there without having to go back to work..
I do feel for your daddy...How I pray that we don't wind up in that same boat....There are alot of people that need to be put in jail and the keys thrown away right now.

Steph~how very, very true. Those people are getting away with so much and they do need to be in jail. I am always afraid of my husband losing his job. He has been with them for 16 years. They are now doing some restructuring. Some of their work is going to India. He is in business support. They laid off 900 people already and said there will be more lay offs by the end of March. It's so scary and unpredictable. Ruth

If they do they could always pitch in-geez dom't they realize you have a lot on your plate Jess
They do that here too hire part-time and give min. wages and no benifits and expect you to do 2 jobs and care-you can't survive cause you have to take several part time jobs. The next generation doesn't stand much of a chance unless it gets turned around. |

Ronna or any one I have another bread question. When I go to slash the top right before baking they deflate. It taste out of this world but looks funny if I don't slash. And falls if I do slash.

thanks again Jess, for answering bread questions. The purpose of slashing is to allow the rise without a 'blowout'. Only need to cut just the tiniest groove, that's why a razor blade or lame does it best. Jess' inlaws remind me of marriage #3 inlaws, mostly MIL. The original Mrs Clean, I could never come close to meeting her standards. Someone who will not only empty but wash and dry an ashtray with each flick of an ash is just way too obsessive. SIL did the same when she asked me to make gravy one Thanksgiving-every time I started to stir it, the spoon was gone and it had been washed, dried and put away. Autumn, way to go, demo on English Muffins. Feed your starter every day and you'll have enough to share with those who want some. Have them bring a small tupperware or such and you can just put a spoonful or two in each. Have them start feedings with a spoonful each of warm water and flour and they'll have it built up in a short time. Bonne, yes, I think you got carried away with using the starter and maybe it needs a mini vacation to recoup it's strength a bit. Won't take long. Or use a bit less in your bread for a few bakings. Yes, I did email Carol Sue a loving sisterly suggestion to concentrate on her own health and not let herself be pulled in so many directions she's the one suffering. Learning to accept ones limits is not easy, but self preservation has to be of most importance. Ruth, if there's a Hispanic section of your market or a market that caters to Mexican people, they often will have the Fels Naptha soap too. They've used it for scrubbing extra dirty clothes like our grandma's did on the washboard for many generations. Know I've missed a lot, will think of more responses later. Long day back at work but not hard work this time of year. I'm glad to still have a job, hearing of so many being laid off or cut back to virtually no hours. The economic insecurity has surely kept Larry still working at 66, even though he's not been severly affected by the recent issues as much as some. He's good to put money away, as opposed to me who spends what I make. I had to work to support my kids for many years and now my money goes for what I want to spend it on...but trying to be more selective and not buy so much when I already have way too much. As my son says, if I spend a day at the storage I'll find lots I don't remember buying and he's right.

Good morning, ladies!!!
My son is supposed to start art classes today. Yesterday we got an email that there is sickness running through the kids in that house. I'm still waiting to hear if they will have it. It's at a homeschool mom's house and she will quarantine the sick kids she said. He is really looking forward to it. He draws really well. I will have to post some pics on my blog.

He looks forward to someday going to art school. Of course, now I would love to do it, too. There are so many great things out there. So much fun. When I was younger I was never encouraged in art. My mom wanted me to be a nurse and that was it. I tried to go to school for hairdressing and she refused to sign the financial aid papers. She only wanted me to be a nurse.

ack...hate it when that happens, my husband was so fun...i was preparing to get a criminal justice degree when we met, i told him that i really would rather get an art degree but i never felt like anyone supported that decision, and he said, why not get what you want...so the next day i walked to the registrars office and changed my direction completely, been happier ever since
