Ruth I know and understand I was just trying to say I am here and yous are there and as people I didn't want it to get in the way (politics) of friendships. Cause right down to the post offices they are idiots. I wish evryone just lived off the land, you were free to go where you want, people helped people build homes and barns and on and on. The world has gone crazy. I feel bad for both of us and wished they would get it right or get out.

My oh my! I am enjoying my new serger!!!!
I made a top this morning and it turned out fantastic!!!!
I have tons of fabric to make some summer dresses too-so much fun!!!!

I had no idea how badly I needed a serger!!!It is NOT a luxury- it's a much needed tool!!!

Been working in the chicken house-they still arent laying

I'm doing a demo on the English Muffins on Friday at Bible Study-the girls are wanting starter and recipes.
I won't have to worry about baking too often-we just dont eat much bread-especially me!!!!

Blessings,
Autumn

There you go Autumn. Gals don't realize what they did WITHOUT a serger once they get one.
Well, I opened the washer front, wiggled a couple wires and now it spins. lol I've looked through all the online fixes before and this is a recurring problem. Time to start a "washer fund" I think. There goes my dreams of a new computer. I'll live.

yes and my brokenm piece cost me $12 including shipping to fix it myself, as opposed to the $65.83 my repairman quoted me.

America gives you a guarantee of *opportunity* NOT a guarantee of *results*. Our population has never been an equal playing ground...some prosper, some don't...some can afford a home, some can't...some can afford insurance, some can't....

Socialism is NOT what America needs....

Here's a quote that says alot:

“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

Our President needs to get an "attitude adjustment"

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonne, who me!!!??? about to blow!!! I think it's become a daily event...

So for anyone that has been stripped of retirement money, tired of paying higher taxes to give to the irresponsible, the illegals and the lazy then you may enjoy my newest blog.
www.lifecanbestrangerthanfiction.blogspot.com

I may be the only one on this topic that has a husband that already has worked 30+ years and built a nice retirement and now at 62 years old he is back to work with no end in sight. And the retirement money has disappeared beyond belief. We just pray in a few years that the market will turn around so we can live in our home *together*...we are in too deep now to pull out..but as we also know, "never say never"..LOL

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry about the washer..hope it's something simple...and no I can't even imagine handwashing fleece sheets!

Oh Jess, I'm sooooo there with you on the family stuff...just keep on sailing girlie..Always remember that dysfunction loves to destroy any function on the horizon...LOL

Autumn, that bread photo should be in a magazine..it's beautiful.

As always it's nice to have a place to vent without persecution...LOL

Have a good day girls,
Steph

hmm...they should lay soon autumn, do they have plenty of fresh water with no poop in it
my sisters chikens loved fresh water, i think we refilled it about 10 or more times a day, just cuz one of em would always find a way to murk it up

Bonne~I just subscribed to Mother Earth News for the first time this year. What year is the
"Guide to Growing Your Own Food"? Is it recent?

Steph~my dad is 70 and is still working full time. The company he worked for for over 20 years closed down one day. They lost their pensions. He has had various jobs since then. Social Security isn't enought to even cover utilities for the year never mind anything else they need.

I wish I could find a fix like that for my stove. It's a gas stove and we have to unplug it and shut off the gas when we're not using it because the oven will turn on by itself. It's not even 10 years old yet. I have no idea what it needs. It's a Kenmore from Sears and they said it's $50 just for someone to come out and look at it. UGH!

Don't even get me thinking of a serger. I better get my butt in gear and learn to use the machine I have now.

That is so frustrating. I will keep it in mind not to order from them. What was their excuse? Did you get all you needed accomplished today?

They say they have been upgrading their computer system, but I was in contact with them so many times I cannot believe my order was "lost" that often. Finally my husband called them and let them know that they would lose the order should we not receive it in 2 days or something like that...guess what...2 days later...showed up.

my big bathroom upstairs is clean and scrubbed. My living room is clean and scrubbed. My sitting room is clean and scrubbed---but the couch overfloweth with unfolded laundry.

my husband has apparently called his parents and asked them not to come as I believe he thinks we are both on the verge of meltdown. all day he has been dealing with the leak at his office..he is about to come unglued. and there is some other problem, not sure what it is, but he has been unavailable all day!
