Happy Birthday, Linda!!!!!!!!! I hope you had a good one. Sorry to hear about that guy. I'm glad things have gone well with your ex.

(((Jess)))~so sorry to hear about yet another flooding problem. I hope this gets resolved quickly and painlessly.

Steph~I'm glad to hear that things are a go. Keep that snow away.

We went to see my hubby's godmother yesterday. She is scheduled for surgery now on Tuesday. She is very scared because of what they have told her. Praying all goes well. She looks good for all she's gone through.

Today, my neighbors took us to the flower show and lunch. It was nice. They are two retired nurses, sisters and very funny. We had a good time. Than my daughter and I went to the bookstore and craft store. Got the Storey Garden Vegetable Bible. It's great!!!!!!!!! I got my seeds from Seed Savers yesterday.

Bonne- the one I have says Shea and mango -so I guess thats the fruity one????
I HATE selling stuff-and it isn't good for my self-esteem to get "no response" when I do make /sell something.

YAY! steph gets to start putting roots down!!!!

Linda- you'll be fine-but I know you'd like help with Danny and friendship for you.

Blessings,

shea & mango butters were in the sample but I don't remember what I scented the one I sent you. LOL Oh, well, I whipped up
Pink Sugar & Tropical Paradise this afternoon so I'll send you 1 of each~they're both yummy.

I've been researching herbs all afternoon. I need to order some and grow some and just tincture/tea some that I already have. I got my Susun Weed menopause book this week and plan to use her herbal guidelines.**sigh** She makes it all sound so magickal a journey. lol

My snow plow guy finally came through, so Zan and i were able to go get some cat food. Thrilling, I know. I managed to fall down and smash my knee again, what a bore. I thought I'd reached my quota this year. So I've been sewing. I posted a picture on my blog of some of my minis. For some reason I can't get the coolors to look right, but at least it made me feel like I had accomplished something.

It was blingingly beautiful here today, lots of snow and lots of sunshine. I guess we are getting another snowstorm tomorrow. You can always tell when there's going to be a storm if you are at our only local supermarket, everyone is there loading up on beer, cigarettes, twinkies, etc. We keep track of who gets the weirdest combos at the supermarket 12 items or less aisle. Zan saw a little old man buying two big boxes of wine and a copy of Woman's World magazine. We also spotted some people we really dislike loading up on Hot Pockets. They know how to shop. The way I'm feeling tonight I feel likemaybe I should have bought a couple boxes of wine. They do have a brand call Pinot Evil that has the three monkeys (you know, see no, hear no, say no...) That one always amuses me. Of course I could always buy some Red Sox brand wine...I just get a histamine headache from it anyway...

Linda, I'm glad you got rid of that guy before he really got grotesque. It's nice that you have a good relationship with your ex. My exhusband and I remained very good friends, I just couldn't live with him any more. He died seven years ago, and my children and I still miss him a lot. Did you read the post on Across the Fence, someone posted about her husband and Bellepepper had a wonderful reply. It is good to have a sense of humor.
I tell my kids that is the key to getting through the rough spots and the good ones.

Oh oh, brain and pain pills are making me a bit wonky. Back to the sewing...

Bonne, those rugs you made are so nice, I love the colors and am very impressed by the speed with which you produce all these goodies.

Don't feel bad Lanna....I can't keep up either.

Jess....sorry to hear about the flood!! Poor John.

Linda....happy belated birthday!!

Karin....hope your knee feels better. And from the sound of it...you are still way under feet of snow...oh, I would be crazy if it were still snowy here....just cold!

Autumn....so glad to hear that Spring is here for you. Sewing an apron, huh? Pictures, please.

Steph....moving stuff?? YAY!!

I caught up on the last few pages this morning, but now have kids home from college(home to have wisdom teeth extracted) and need to make breakfast. I have been doing little to no sewing of late....just packing, taking stuff to thrift, etc. etc. We are moving to the A frame on May 1st...no sewing til September....and Bonne...no place to put the treadle...not even on the front porch...cause there is no roof. UGH!
I think I will concentrate on gardening this summer. Will have to do canning on a propane burner on the front deck...so a bit of roughing it is on the horizon...all fun....all working towards a goal.

Ronna...the sourdough is doing well...I am hoping to try Autumn's English muffin recipe with it...that is after I just try some sourdough loaves. Wish me luck....after seeing Jess and Bonne's loaves...I am quite intimidated.

Susan, from Duncannon,...we are neighbors! I pass Duncannon all the time on my way to our farm....commuting til May.

Karin, I love the mini's - the colors are so fun! I see you are to get another foot of snow today...

Bonne, The rugs are beautiful! Are you crocheting them or braiding them - I never did this but my daughter started last fall crocheting rugs and has really had fun with it and made some really pretty rugs. She uses old tshirts or sheets. Now she is teaching some classes in it at a "green" sewing shop that promotes reuse.

Bev, Where is your farm? I've read your blog from time to time and it says between H'burg and State College? Beautiful country over there! Congrats on your article in Apronology - I picked up a copy when I was in Ithaca 2 weeks ago and was so excited as I thought your article was in that copy - I had to show it to my daughter, explaining the MJF connection!!

Suzanne, here's a tut to my rugs: http://bonne1313.blogspot.com/2009/01/crocheted-cotton-rug.html

I think we're going to be eliminating the last of our grass lawn this year. Red wants to erect a horseshoe pit on part, then convert the rest to garden. It irks me so much to water grass all the time, for what?? so I can mow it? No more, that area will have to earn it's keep. Grass in this high desert is so retarded anyway. Time to locate some horse pucky.

Bonne~that's a great idea. I am adding to my garden this year, too. We are not treating the lawn this year at all. There's no sense in it.

Karin~I love your minis!!! Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are feeling better today.

Bev~You can bring that treadle outside and do some sewing. LOL~Hope the kids are ok with their wisdom teeth.

Not doing much today. I have most of the kids work ready for school this week. I am doing some embroidery on a pillowcase. Chicken soup is cooking on the stove and it smells great.

Well, my knee is okay at the moment, lots of ice and pain pills to the rescue. I am not looking forward to the new snowstorm, but I'm so glad my car works, I'm just not thinking about it. I'll get some sewing done I think.

I'm going to go get my son to come spend the night and feed him a belated birthday dinner. I'[m also going to get him to get my treadle inside! Where I'll put it is a whole nother mess o beans. I am good at cramming though, so I'll hope that will work for the nonce.
Well, I'm going to go lug in a few things from the car and clear a path for the treadle...

Linda, the #1 thing to do is not fret on it. If it's meant to happen, your paths will cross.
You have to remember not to fight the current; go with the flow of the river in life.

Karin, set your treadle in a temporary place that has a lot of good lighting ~either artificial or natural~even if that means the middle of the living room. When it's in an obvious spot, you can't ignore it, so finally you'll sit down to it with a can of WD-40, bottle of oil and several rags, Q-tips, and a wastebasket. Clean it up top to bottom and oil where indicated in a manual(or use common sense: where parts move). You can test it out by moving the flywheel with your hand, then when you get a new belt it will be ready to go. Fresh needles are a must. I made the mistake of thinking the needle that my MIL had left in the machine was satisfactory. Shoulda known! I tried everything but that during the troubleshooting to get the dang thing to sew. Jess suggested a new needle , and problem was solved!! LOL You'll need to get familiar with the location of knobby things like "stitch length"; tension; bobbin winder, and they may all be needing adjustment just due to the treadle being moved , bumped, and who knows if kids played with it too? It's all a fun learning experience and you'll be so thrilled once it starts producing nice even stitches.

Bonne, I agree totally about the grass issue...I'm hoping to do away with the little bit we...river rock lawn sounds nice to me. I've got a nice area to eventually build my raised containers for my gardening and a good spot for my rose bushes..There are some kind of huge hedges across the front of the house that are getting dug up..I'll need to plant shade loving flowers and stuff in that area.

Oh, yes, you'll have to see what all everyone else is growing, since it's a new and different climate where you'll be. The containers will be nice~you can control the soil issues that way.
