HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY LADIES!!! I hope you are all having a great day! Today has not been to bad here except for the fact that I have an incredible earache that is making the whole side of my face hurt! Now I know why little kids cry when they get an earache!

Steph, I think it would be a good idea not to let any of us help you move!!!! Unless you are looking to lighten your fabric load!

Monica, I feel for you. I grew up with earaches. Sometimes, I would get them several times a year. The last time, it felt like my ear drum was going to explode. The pressure on the ear drum was HUGE! This was early in the morning, so no doctor's office was open. We went the emergency room and by the time that the doctor saw me, the pressure subsided. I was told that anytime, my ear begins to hurt (when it is in its beginning stages, to take a decongestant). I have done it since, and have not had an ear infection in about 18 years or so.
Everyone in our family except the youngest son all have colds, so we are miserable. If we went out, I wouldn't be able enjoy myself.

I told dh that I would like to go whale watching again. This is the right time to do so, but mil is coming and we have a lot of things that we are going through. This is my year to discard and donate, so I am donating a lot of clothes to the Union Rescue Mission. They are supposed to come on Wednesday, and I already have about 8 boxes or so ready for them. My family and I agreed that since I am not doing shows anymore, that it would be wasteful to let blank clothing sit around here when someone out there could use it. It is easier to sale denim shirts and sweatshirts at shows, but harder on the Internet. I am however, trying to clear out the applique sweatshirts I have, but probably will be donating those as well.

I rather make aprons and other things now.

That's a good thing to do Sharon. Plus you can put donations on your itemized deductions. ;)

It is so wasteful just to sit when someone else could use it. There is another place that I donate to. The Union Rescue Mission calls me on a regular basis. The other place sells the items, but the Union Rescue Mission said that they use the clothing for the needy people. I think that the clothing that is not in good shape gets sold. Not sure.

I am actually keeping one of my New Year's Resolutions.

Sharon, I honestly can't remember the last time I had an earache. I have home made herbal ear drops that I use on the kids and I put some in! It feels better than earlier! It did feel like it was going to explode earlier!
I am cleaning out my house too! We are going to be moving at some point and hubby keeps saying to start getting rid of stuff! I figured if I make a good dent with other things I can go easy on the fabric! I am NOT getting rid of my sewing machines though!!!!

I have some quilting magazines I am selling! I was going to list them under marketplace, but I thought I would tell you ladies first! I was going to sell them for 1.00 each + shipping! I have about 10 now and will probably have a few more! There are 4 Old-Fashioned Patchwork magazines and the rest are different! If anyone is interested I can tell you exactly what they are!

Hooray!! I finally got the daughter's bedroom cleaned out and started setting up my sewing room - now I can leave my projects out and not have to put them away and take them out and put them away...I plan on working on my quilt blocks all day tomorrow and working on an apron for my daughter for her wedding shower...I'm so excited!

Sharon, I can't stand to throw stuff out that someone else can use so we always donate alot to charities each year and take the tax deduction. It really helps on the taxes!

I have a huge pile in my basement that I will be taking to the local thrift store for donation. I know you can take a tax deduction but I don't know how~how do you know what things are worth? I can't wait to get rid of this stuff. I am also going through my closet and drawers to get rid of things I don't wear. I have enough to fill the whole back of my van. I'll probably post pictures when it's all ready to go. I did this last year, too. Don't know where all this other stuff came from.

I am also getting rid of some craft projects that I made for shows that didn't sell. No use in keeping them. I gave my neighbors two pre-lit decorated Christmas wreaths I had made for their church's bazaar.

Suzanne~I would love a sewing space of some sort. Right now I have to put things away when I'm done working on them and take them out again later.

Well, I have my nephew's birthday party later today. Gotta run to the store. Hubby had to go to work for a little while~they just called him in.

Not much else happening.

Ruthie, just do a rough estimate when it comes to valuing. I donate every month, so I just write down on my receipt ticket "various household goods" valued at $$$$, orig cost $$$$$" you don't have to get specific~just generalize. I mean really, our big fat government now is spending like drunken sailors~get every cent back you deserve while you can.

That's what I was wondering. I want to use them as tax deductions because we get rid of stuff all the time. I usually do one big haul out every year. They are spending like drunken sailors now.

I have to say, it is unbelievable what some of the money in the "stimulus package" is going for! I don't know if it's still in the bill or not, but they originally had 235 million marked for contraceptives! How is that supposed to stimulate the economy??? They really are spending like drunken sailors!!!

Carrie, I will keep an eye out for older ones! I may have some!

Hope you all have a great morning!!!

Ruth, we use what is called Deduction pro and use it with our Tax Cut program. It is still challenging to use, but it figures out the value of clothing using their limited list, but it is far more than what I would have put down. The pastor of the church we used to go to, told us about it.

Suzanne, if we didn't have the deductions, we would fair too well on the taxes. I can't to throw things out as well, if it is usable. You would be surprised what people put out for trash here. I had a couple at the top of the street, who had an unsuccessful yard sale. The husband put out a portable crib. I took some things to the Salvation Army, but I guess because of recall issues, they couldn't accept the items. Well, there was a woman who had pulled in to the parking lot to donate some things. When I was putting the crib back in the car, she said that she could use it, because her daughter is expecting a baby soon. So...she got a nice crib. This crib was more like a basenette.

The "swap" apron? You go!
Also, what's the significance of your nickname here, other than a fondness for cinnamon? I just made a batch of soap scented "cinnamon vanilla" It's one of those scents where you want to just take a bite out of the soap~lol
