I'm just thankful we aren't getting the 10-20 inches they had been forecasting over the weekend - daughter and friends are driving to NYC tomorrow to a Tyra Banks taping they got tickets for.

I am hoping the package is buried in the 2 feet of snow under my mailbox, but I am sure there were no packages last week when it started snowing. My route does not have a regular carrier anymore. We had the same guy until 18 months ago, he got promoted to an easier route after having this one for 20 yrs. He was so nice, knew everyone and what was going on. He would bring mail and pkgs to back door for everyone, especially in bad weather. These new guys and girls we have just leave the pkgs next to the mailbox, so I am always vigilant to see when the mail comes. i will check with all my neighbors to see if maybe my pkgs were delivered to their house by mistake. That has happened 3 ties so hopefully someone has em and just has not been able to get out and bring it over.

Ruth-
If you keep accurate records and compile them in standard format the colleges will likely accept your records. This is the problem- we are "outside" the box as Jess said- so you have to help the clerical folks look past the box and listen to you. But above all WE MUST BE NICE-
I told my older sons that they were going to set a precedent for other homeschooled kids,(being the first generation to seek higher education )and how administration deals with them.
We have to understand that we are asking, again, for the paper workers to do a bit more-or less sometimes, and that we are making a ripple in their established routine.
On the other hand, we pay school taxes and should have access to reasonable acceptance policies ,with proper accountability.
In our state the public school kids can get full free tuition with ACT scores of 18 and up- a homeschooled student must score a full 3 point higher for consideration. Unfair but it's not budging. Something ya cant win-but acceptance should be equal.
Off the soap box now!

Blessings,
Autumn

Jess, What I am up to is my eyeballs in stuff to get sewn and packages to get together to get mailed out! I have to confess that I have not even started on my minis yet! I have the fabric, but that's it! I am keeping track of when they are due though! Isaiah's birthday is Friday and I am taking cupcakes to school and I am also taking my spinning wheel to show the kids about cotton! Then Saturday I am having a surprise party with his friends and I still have to shop for his birthday present! I also have to sew a lining for a friends coat that I need to have done tomorrow! That is only a bare part of my list of things to get done!! Oh my gosh, will somebody pleeeeeeeeeas send me some faeries!!!!

Ruth, If you go to www.usps.com you can print and pay for shipping labels and they have tracking on them and you will get an e-mail telling you exactly where the package is at! It's easy to do and then you won't have to worry over where a package is! You don't even need to buy labels or anything just use card stock and clear tape and it works great, plus you pay less for shipping!

Hopefully I will get new pics on my blog today!!

Well, I am off to sew and spin!! I hope everyone has a great day!!

I just don't want it to get lost. I was so thrilled to send them all out and this is so disappointing. I don't usually have trouble sending pkgs. The post office I take them to is awesome but I do know that the main post office stinks. They hold pkgs sometimes for no reason. Hubby's pkg sat there for four days before they decided to send it along. I wish I had gotten a tracking number.

I hate when you lose good people.

I do hope it's not buried under the snow. The way this year is going you won't find it until August.

Post office has sure been crappy lately, my pkg to Bonne taking 8 days priority mail plus all the rest. I'd send everything FedEx ground, but think the min charge is something like $9 and that would get pricey for the starter. Going to bag and box them now, so you ladies can be on the lookout for them in a few days. Ruth, yours will be in the box with the games.
More snow...is this being a long winter for some of you or what. Enough already. I imagine we'll get more, but it's rain predicted for the end of the week.
Autumn, the son really keeps you on your toes, such a very cool kid.
Everyone who'd feeling crappy, feel better soon.

Carrie, those blocks are so cute! Now I'm going to have to see if I have some plaids that might work. Didn't get much sleep last night, a friend is going to give me a ride to the local supermarket later today so I'm trying to stay awake. the cats definitely need some more chow.

No sun here, but at least it is a brighter shade of gray today.

Oh oh I think I'm going to tip over for a little bit.

Oh, boy, can't wait 'til you other gals get your starter. Yesterday,(was at son's doing our baking adventures), we had our first loaves of authentic tasting "tangy sourdough". My first batches didn't have that tang, but the starter has built up enough flavor now.
It's great to see all these sons getting bizzy with the baking~love that football cake Autumn!!! Encouraging mommies fuel that fire too.

Oh, yeah, gonna be 60's the next few days~gotta round up my cats to go out to the kitty Korral.

Got Scraps? Here's a project a friend sent me in case you are feeling like getting something organized for your area~although you can just make the tops and send them to the headqtrs too. The "Sleeping Bag Project"~ http://www.uglyquilts.org/

Naomi, I gave "Smart A$$ to Bryn yesterday. I was going to hold out until May when he graduates, but couldn't~lol
He really loved it! I didn't know how he'd react, but he said, "who made this? Tell her thanks a lot, it's really cool, I like it"
