It's beautiful Naomi. closed case are so much more pricey. I paid $325 I think for mine in 1980 from an antique store. I used to carry mine all the time in my watch pocket, haven't for years. Elderly watchmaker checked it out for me and then sold me the man's watch that someone brought in for cleaning and then decided to sell. It was much less, more like $100 or so in same time frame. I "might" have it, not sure if I repossessed it when I divorced him :) I need to open the safe and see just what is there and what should be there instead of the dresser.

You better go get some shut eye Jess,
Oh my gosh I have a bit to catch up on. You are all talking my language, old costume jewlery, pocket watches,....ahhh yes. Would love to find honey bunny, opps did I type that, hey he doesn't read here, a pocket watch. He wears bibs all the time, I think he owns 1 pr of jeans and one good pair of pants, yep the rest are overalls. He has a regular watch he put on a chain and pulls it in and out of his pocket watch on his overalls. Funny man.
Now gotta go back and read like crazy. If STeph is on here, then that means what, you didn't get to make the trip, shoot I have ten pages to catch up on again.....be back again shortly.....

O.K. Do I have an apron for you gals. I haven't been on that auction site in a long time, but I did a search for apron. This is a faux fur apron. Have you ever seen something like that?

That is a bit of a strange one.

Ok, you know your sewing room needs cleaned when you look for a certain pattern you had, not one week ago and can find it nowhere. In trying to find it, all the piles start sliding and you are a major mess, and you still don't find it. Oh the madness that sets in becasue you KNOW you have it. Then it strikes, that does it, this room has to get cleaned, you start mumbling, only to realize that you will be gone most of the day. So you mumble somemore, this shall get done period!!!!!
Tomorrow, or coarse!!!!! LOL.

Sharon, That looks like something that washed up on the beach after an oil spill, definitely one of the weirdest creations I've even seen.

Gals, it is funny isn't it? I don't ever think that I have seen anything like it before. If I had one, I probably would not wear it.

These are actually an item which are for sale.

How about trimming an apron, or whatever with real fur??? yes, have a lot of them too, some are bad shape and cutters. My daughter said she wanted a coyote or lynx fur and don't think I have either. She'll have to settle for mink, sable, fox, curly lamb and who knows what else I have. Those fake fur aprons are just plain ugly to me, have no charm at all. but then, I don't wear aprons, so what would I know :)
My grandson will be here soon, will get him to help me with scanning and posting photos. Two vintage apron patterns in my Friday haul, 25 and 40 cents on envelopes. One is so cute for Valentines day, most of you would not even need a pattern to do it. When it comes time to clear out the vintage patterns, think I'll just offer them here and not bother with eBay fees or such. If I get what I paid that will be fine and will give me space and a few bucks for more goodies.
I did go into the safe last night, but didn't keep my pocket watch out. Found the tag, it was $395 about 30 years ago. No clue if I have the other one, didn't see it but have two safes, so might be in the other one.
Jess is partying with all the fairies today, she did such cute costumes for the kids...but then doesn't she always. One woman costume dept and all the models to wear them.

Carol Sue, was that my sewing room you were referring to? Pretty accurate description. I couldn't find my camera last night and was wondering where it got buried until I remembered it was next to the battery charger.

Karin~This was hilarious~Sharon, That looks like something that washed up on the beach after an oil spill, definitely one of the weirdest creations I've even seen.~What a way to describe it.

I have been correcting my daughter's history work this am. I also need to get the history work for our coop classes done. For some fun I have been looking through Seed Savers catalog. I wish I could order everything in it.

I am working on finishing my minis today. It would be great if I could get them all done. I have a felted sweater that I want to try and use for the tea cozy swap. Can't wait to start on that.

How is everyone's Sunday? Yes, Jess is playing with the fairies today and I'm sure she's having a great time. She did make such cute costumes. So amazing.

Gotta go work on those minis.

Carrie~I'm using my machine.

Well it is mid afternoon here on what is proving to be a very lazy day. I did dig out some polka dot fabrics to use in the next mini apron swap, and I've got a couple little packages to mail, if I ever get my car back in working order.

Now I have to figure out what to make for my farm block swap. I'm thinking app0lique, but I just have to find a good background fabric or two before I can get going on them. That will be a nice change...And deep in one of my fabric baskets I found the perfect item for the apron swap. That was a lovely surprise. I get sidetracked easily when I'm looking through the fabric mine...

I guess it is the old sinuses packed with cement that had me so logy today, I should go steam my head with a slice of ginger in the water, that usually works for a bit.

Hardly any posts today, you must all be busy with sewing and families. I'll have to go check some blogs, now that is my idea of a good time...

Karin

Nope, not lasy here, just screaming in my head, throwing tantrums trying to figue out which way to go in this crazy little room. I have a bit of sorting done.....a small, very tiny, miniscule part clean, but at least it is clean, now I am leaving for a bit to gain back my sanity and perspective again.....going to nieces, she said come down and lets help those muscles of yours. She gives incredible foot massages which relax me from my head to my toes, that just might be a good idea to day. Then will come back and rethink some of this, a break is a very good thing, cause I have to get this mess done to get back on those minis dang it!!!!!!

Ronna,

Thanks for the link to Goodwill auctions. I always forget about that site. Yeah, that's alot of jewelry but it looks like mostly junk jewelry..they say there may be some vintage mixed in but no guarantees...I try to buy only vintage 40-50-60's stuff but will buy newer than that if it's high quality. I am currently using beads and parts from my sisters costume jewelry collection from the 70's and 80's. I guess if you are a beader this huge lot may be a good thing but it's not what I look for.

I'll find some auctions or websites and post the links so you can see what I'm looking for. Then if you run across any you can nab them for me at your dirt cheap pricing. You can mark them up and I'll still pay less than what I can find locally....LOL I'm really looking forward to scavenging for treasures at home..I really think I'm gonna have a treasure trove of selection over there.

Hey Ronna, I bet your nephew would love that faux fur apron that Sharon found at the Goodwill auctions...would look great with the pucci skirt, don't you think!! Sorry, couldn't resist that one...but all joking aside most gay guys that I've know have had exquisite taste for clothing and interior design.

Ooooh Sharon, I could have used that faux fur apron on my 25th anniversary trip! We went to a cabin and I had to cook each day which is NOT a very sexy thing. But I'm thinking that apron and some high heels, and it might have been a little more fun!! Or at the very least, a little warmer!
