I am almost done with my first apron- I really should have practiced on an easier pattern! LOL
Quick question for you more experienced sewers- When you use a tissue pattern- are you supposed to leave the tissue on as you sew? Are these one- use patterns? I didn't do that, but some of the instructions make me wonder if I should have!

Okay- I just need to do a few finishing touches on my apron. Please remeber it is my first time following a pattern and sewing anything other than a straight stitch- i will post pictures tomorrow as soon as I finish!

Autumn: How funny that our sons are running similar lives. While Rob (he's 22 1/2) waits for the police thing to happen, he is working for my husband who is a landscaper! He also works for my brother who is a machinist when the lanscaping season is over. Rob went to college for 3 1/2 years and just had enough. He switched majors and still had more than a year to go, so he can go back later if he wants, but he HATES school!!!! Can I say that LOUD enough!!?? My dad was a cop too and we have had family members work on oil rigs and stuff, so of course Rob is looking into all of those.
Jess: Your little medieval family is gorgeous. One night of sewing??!?!??!? I need an aspirin or drinks or something. |

Jess!!! Oh my gosh! You look fabulous, my dear. It's a darn good thing you did not wear your costume to my house. You would have been in a puddle on the floor in no time! lol The kids look fab in their costumes. (I still say you could have left that babe at my house. :) I bet you all were the hit of the faire!!)

Sheryl-lyn That is funny! My son has a technical degree(digital technician) and a bible college degree in missions also. He has done so many things and still has a long list. It is funny! I am really nervous about the cop thing- no one in our family & no one I know personally. He has 3 little girls- it worries me a little. Blessings Autumn

Thank you everyone!! Karin..I can send the baby to you for visits..she is a fun one. Sheryl..I am crazy...my dress took 16 hours(3 nights)..mostly it was these two tiny zippers that I put in in the front seams that took the longest, but I had to nurse the baby somehow! Then the next evening I got a wild hair and start cutting like a mad woman...by 5 am...6 of the 7 kids had sewn costumes, and the 7th-my oldest daughter wanted nothing to do woth dresses, so when she got up we used what we had around to make her a pirate. It was so much fun!! I even bought birthday presents at the Faire and just tucked them up inside my dress and no one ever knew what I was doing!! |

Got a couple more aprons sewed up last week, two double sided ones. Gotta get pics taken and I'll get them up. Cut out three more double sided ones and made up two more batches of bias tape. Have to say that the bias tape making is a very relaxing process for me, the cutting and the ironing are just so soothing...I can't quite explain why...lol

Bev, you are so funny. I am going to cut out aprons today. Probably won't get sewn up today, as I am waiting for my white binding. I am going to make an apron using binding, I am going to make an apron with binding. No, I am not losing it. I am trying to psyche myself up.
