What I am doing today. I received a frantic call from a member of the high school music boosters. She needed help with hemming pants before Friday's game. I had offered to continue to help with hemming uniforms last year, even though my son graduated. So....thank goodness we have a small band, although I hope that it the band will grow in size and be the size that it used to be.

Whew Sarah! Now I feel better. That was my first real foray into sewing with a pattern, and I felt like such a dunce! Also, the finish product waistband looked nothing like that was on the package picture. It has made me afraid to try any of the other parts of the pattern.

Sarah J...I wish I could compare mine to the picture on the packet but I have lost the packet! lol I had totally do the waistband different. I'm not sure I will tackle any of the others in that group or not. Not for a while anyhow. I have to keep in mind that the women who sewed those patterns in yesteryear made all or most all of their own clothes and sewed alot better than me. Maybe someday I'll get there. I remember in 4H in sewing, lol, I was always having to rip it out and do it over and my stitches would be so tight I couldn't get them out!

Bonne....if I say "I don't need no stinkin fairies to empty my laundry baskets" will that work like sewing?? lol

Blessings....
Sarah

Here is today's project....my neighbor's 85 year old Mom is visiting them from the Midwest. She came over yesterday to look at my stash of aprons and bought 2 for gifts, but when she saw this fabric on my pile....she just had to have an apron for herself! i thought it was so cute....she obviously is very young at heart....So, I will be making her a cheerful reversible trimmed with pink ruffle and black rick-rack!

Bev. That apron is going to be so nice when it is finished. What other two aprons did the woman buy? Curious minds want to know. How wide is the bias tape that you use?

She bought the chicken apron that I just finished and an older one(previous thread) with apples on it. I use the wide bias tape most of the time, but sometimes the narrow and sometimes make my own......all depends on the mood.

This has nothing to do with sewing but I think it will give each of you a smile today.....This is my Maddie...she is my 130 lb Newfie (still has her summer haircut) in her Halloween Costume.

Your dog is so adorable.
This our dog. The first picture, Max was about 2 months old. He was rescued by my dh's coworker. Max was trapped down in a gully, and my husband's co-worker and another man rescued him. When we got him, he was well under 12 pounds. The second picture was taken about 2 months ago by my oldest son.

OMG! That is just the cutest apron! I love the dots. Yes, Bev please give us a ruffle lesson. I have a ruffler attachment for my machine but don't use it much.

I've been to that website before. Their aprons are cute but ours are "sew" much better. Sorry, just couldn't resist.
