Hey Linda, OMG, signature blocks! I think I've had too much on my plate the last month. Gotta get caught up...you ladies amaze me with all that you do everyday. It really is inspiring!

*Blush and Beam* Thank all you ladies for the sweet words about my fabric. I like things just a bit unconventional and vintage looking. We don't have a great selection at our local fabric shop, and I grabbed this up at a yard sale this summer along with so many small bits of pretty calicos. I'm thinking of making a quilt topper of a sort of worn denim and pretty calico for a summer bit of farm charm.
The pear fabric is rather thin so I'll be making a quilted backing for it for the table topper. I have a round blond wood table and it should fit nicely...I hope I don't mess it up if I have enough I'll make a pinifore apron.

Sharon, Those instructions were fine. I understood them fine. Don't know when I'll get a chance to try it though.
Stephanie, Jessie(crshelpmeet) is still looking for her package of fat quarters in exchange for the dishcloths she crocheted. I had understood from your email you were sending them a week or so ago. Is that right? thanks.

Hi all....well I spent yesterday sewing like a madwoman...3 aprons. Will post pictures of 2 later this morning.
Kay....that bag is so pretty! Annika....what a lovely Christmas set that fabric will make! You will need a matching apron!
Reversible aprons....I do mine a little differently. I put them together....wrong sides together and join them by encasing the bottom edge of the apron in bias tape or ruffled quilt binding and then the top and the neck hole gets wrapped in bias tape to finish.....just makes them a bit more decorated and no turning necessary.....there are so many ways to skin a cat! But then whoever would want to skin a cat???? Weird expression!

Bev,
I thought I had read before about someone using bias tape. I did the farmgirl apron and I like the way the aprons look with the bias tape.

BEV Genius! Now I can try a reversible again with a new twist-the "once-upon-a-time-feared-bias-tape" treatment. I have overcome my fear of bias tape and make most of my own now. Cant wait to try it on a reversible like this. Tks for the instructions! Blessings, Autumn

We will miss ya Georgann!! Hope all is ironed out soon. I finally got a pic taken of me in the beautiful apron that you made and sent me. I love it! Everytime I wear it, I think of you and your sweet spirit. Thanks again! Ok yall, just look at the apron and not me. I had just gotten home from jogging and we had the camera out. I look like a train wreck!! That is my lil sidekick Mack checking things out too.
Blessings.... Sarah

Sarah, I tried the pattern in the pic you posted above (the pumpkin one), and it did not work out well for me at all. I just didn't like the finished product. Yours looks great! Did you like that pattern? |

Sarah J...At first I thought it was going to be an easy pattern. I don't know if it was just me or what, but it seemed as if some of the directions were missing. I had to just wing it and make some of my own modifications to it. I like it ok, but I don't know if I'll make it again. I just don't seem to have very good luck with McCalls patterns for some reason.
Blessings.... Sarah

Sarah -- the apron is adorable! I love the fabric and the color combination.
Georgann -- you will be missed. Hope things settle down and you can come back soon.
I'm trying to come up with ideas for my page for the journal. I'm not very creative in that area. Anyone else working on theirs? Guess I need to go look at paper to get inspired.
I'm off again today so hope to get some sewing done.

Mustang, I have difficulty with patterns too. I like to buy them~LOTS of them! Maybe it's for inspiration, but I always gravitate to something I've modified from a pattern and cut out my own pattern from. Plus, if there are too many pieces, you can bet it won't be duplicated. My favorite pants pattern has 1 piece. Favorite wrap skirt has 2. Aprons, no more than 3 pattern pieces.

I'm going to try MJ's apron next. I have some cute halloween material. I want to make matching aprons for me and my lil sidekick above. He loves to wear "his" apron and make cookies.
