Oh Ronna, forgot to say..years ago when I was grabbing up all the wedding gowns and didn't know why... I ran across a magazine or something that showed these "dammit dolls" and they were made from pieces cut from wedding gowns...LOL I loved it and then started making them just for the fun of it and everyone that came into my studio just had a fit over them. There was a little poem that went with them..You can find them on the internet and the poem too since so many folks are making them but made from the wedding gowns are the most divine and sweet justice to that fallen marriage. One MUST keep their sense of humor, right?

Autumn, a hammock...oh boy! When I lived in Slidell I would go in the local bait and tackle shop and go sit in the backroom and watch a couple make the castnets. I had taught myself to crochet and all I could think about was the knot they were using was just like the crochet "lover's knot" stitch. The hammock making just reminded me of that flashback. Can't wait to see what you do.
Ok, I'm going to clear off the cutting table...really, I'm doing it this time!

Thanks for getting the address for me Stephanie, now the boxes can go out tomorrow. FedEx ground is the best way unless they have to go to the east coast, only two days to Washington. 25# big boxes are only about $10-12. Most of the wedding dresses are destined for christening/burial baby gowns, but there's plenty to do lots of things with. Don't think the price I have paid can be beat..a few I've paid as much as $20 for, but many were a dollar. yep, and one, with veil and train was 50 cents..amazing. My son has told me I need a website called RonnaHasIt.com, cause I usually have (or can easily find) anything anyone is looking for. Debra/myvintagehome is going to help me set up so I can sell some of the excess before they move back to CA; she and her husband are quite knowledgable and I'm anything but. Autumn, I still have a bunch of my mothers stuff, clothes and all in the storage that need to go elsewhere. A recent newspaper article was about a low income senior complex in Reno that provides clothing and such for the residents. They earn tokens by attending functions to spend in the shop, that way it keeps them from becoming depressed staying in their room all the time...I want to donate her clothes to them. And her Imelda Marcos hoard of shoes that were never worn or maybe once. I think she only had one pair of shoes until she was in her 30's and loved to order new shoes all the time. I encouraged her to buy whatever she wanted; she and my step dad worked for the money she had managed to accumulate. I gave a huge black trash bag of the ones she had worn to one of the aides at the assisted living and the dumb woman never even bothered to say thank you, so she didn't get the good ones. 6 1/2 narrow is not an easy size to find. Night ladies and thanks for making me feel welcome here.

At least I do some crafts does that count? like the collages and stuff? and who knows...I bet I can borrow that sewing machine from Nay one day..or shoot just buy myself one when we get settled into a new place.I'll be needing to sew curtains and stuff for our new house anyhow.(when we get moved)

yeah..I've actually been itching to start sewing a little bit...but with everything needing doing with the house prep..I have to channel my energies into getting the house painting done/and all the little fix up/get ready projects...then..I'll be able to play and experiment more once we get this house sold and moved into a new one...and yes..I do think I'll be getting myself a machine. And yes Steph..I have so many ideas floating around in my head for collage ideas(guess I might need to start writing some of them down?)..I really want to be able to have an area in the new house for creating altered images.( a little place to file special papers and supplies/notions) In this current home there isn't much room for having my own private space. All the crafting I do has to be done either at the dining table or at the kitchen counter. And sometimes here at my small desk. So..yes..I'm looking forward to new experiences/and just a whole bunch of new possibilities...and a bit more room to stretch out in..ha. One thing that I find myself getting very excited about is that I can see myself being able to grow my photography business. I had tried to grow it here..and actually was fortunate enough to win a few small awards locally..and had a few photo sessions that I did for folks..but I didn't promote myself enough here. I do fully intend to get back into getting out there and really going for it in a new area. I absolutely thrive behind the lens of my camera and it's hard to describe but I get nearly a natural "high" when I am able to capture someone's special moments. Although I have never done wedding photography before..I have been asked to several times..I feel though on that aspect I will have to build myself up before I tackle that part of things..my all time favorite things are capturing children in outdoor settings, and I enjoy taking photos of engaged couples and brides in their wedding gowns. And families together with their pets. That sort of thing. So..I'm looking forward to getting back into that but in a much more intense/fulfilling capacity. And not to mention..there are some awesome horse shows in Ocala that I can't wait to go to and start shooting photos of.So..it's all going to be full of changes and excitement. And I find myself starting to feel like a kid in a candy store thinking of all the bright things the future can hold.

Well part of the table is cleared. I've been saving boxes and they've come in handy tonight for sorting.
Tina, I've looked at your photography over at imagekind..it's so nice. The picture of the fresh baby yellow duck is my all time favorite I believe. I wish you were close by..I'd have you photograph Thomas, me and Miss Morgan the yorkie We don't have any really good pictures of us and going to a studio is not what I have in mind. It needs to be outside and it needs to be a photographer that can just hang out while we are just being ourselves then they can capture natural photos. They are always the best don't you think?

Tina....your pictures are always great!
ALL of you always inspire me to try new things!
Wow, Autumn, a hammock? Are you going to crochet, or macrame....or??? That should be pretty cool!
Hmmmmm Japanese Restaurants....our kids like to go, so every once in a while for a fun group outing we go to one...but I'm with you Jess, I like a quiet table in a little bistro type restaurant. I also like dining Al Fresco....sidewalk tables with umbrellas.....as i watch the city go by.

I wanted to show you a picture that I worked on this week. Last weekend my SIL, Becky asked me to photograph her three horses. She picked the one she liked best and I went to work on it with Photoshop. I have been wanting to learn to use this program for some time now, so I sent away (Amazon.com) for some Photoshop for Dummies books and finally got the nerve to give it a try. What a blast I had... The finished portrait is on the top and the original is beneath it. Magic!! Please check the Family Portrait post on my farm blog. Sorry, I just had to share!

Nice picture, Bev, and I love all your pictures and stories about your goats, they have such wonderful prescence, I love your goat teeter-totter one especially...
Oh Kathie, Holy moly girl, you have just given me a free pass to every yard sale and junk shop that I can drag myself too. I have never seen a tiny table like that, but there is a massive barn place near us that I will check next time I'm in the area, and then there's a really humongous three story flea market Zan and i have just been itching to get to. I told her you NEEDED the chairs, and she said, welll I guess we're going to have to step up our yard sale visits...I love the grey color. the table I have with the teapot in the middle is that same gray. Where the table is....mystery to me....
My day is off to a better start after reading all your rambles, thanks, Karin

Bev. Great job on the photo. I only know a little about photo shop. My boys are whizzes at it. I should just get a book like the ones that you have and do it myself.

This morning's apron.....
And now I have to get ready to go in to work for the afternoon...got a call from my hubby's assistant...he's sick. In all conscience I cannot let hubby fend for himself this afternoon...so, I am going to surprise him and work with him for the afternoon. So much for getting anything done around the house...oh well.
I still have not heard about last night's date (my daughter) as she got in after I went to sleep and left for work really early...and now I am going to miss when she comes home......OH my.... Will have to find out the details tonight a dinner.

I'm somewhat of an introvert when it comes to the real world, but I love Japanese Benihana/Gasho type restaurants! LOL
Tina, after you move I'll help you get a sewing machine~LOL As a matter of fact, I have 2 sewing machines just sitting here doing NOTHING. They are newer ones~ a basic Brother and a Sears Kenmore that has more stitches on it. I want to sew on my vintage gals (oh, a couple are actually "guys")more than the newer ones. Anyone needs a sewing machine, pick one & pay the shipping~it's yours. Oh, heck, I've got 3 that could go~forgot about the other Brother up at my son's house. LOL Holy crap~how many do I have stashed around the state? ROFL
