I have to agree with you, Jess, but she always does things her own way...has never been big on following my advice.

Jess, Kathie, You know the important thing about quilts is they get finished and then someone gets to snuggle up with them. It is not important if the squares all match perfectly, I find the quilts that dazzle me the most are the ones that are filled with colors and designs that look lively. Years ago, when I joined a local quilting group, I felt like I was being judged by the quilt Nazis. These women would scrutinize everything everyone did , hunting for perceived mistakes and then delight in criticizing the results. I found that very tedious. I didn't attend regularly for the longest time until we got some new, more forgiving quilters. Just grab some color and wing it! It is very thrilling to just pound out a quilt top without agonizing over it, and you may be surprised by your delightful results... You girls whip out all these fabulous aprons, quilts are a snap, they fit everyone.

Thanks karin...my quilts are snuggly that is for sure, but if some one wanted a field day they could pick em apart in like 12 seconds...but colorful...yes they are.

ROFL!!!! Karin! Quilt Nazis!! I totally believe it~those are the gals that have driven up the price of plain ole cotton fabrics anymore.

OMG Bev! You AND your daughter certainly have put in some rough years. Must have been devastating to go through the recovery. ((hugs))

Bonne....It was crazy....but those days are past and today is sunny!!!(figuratively and thankfully literally, too!)

You all need to live here....we have the best quilt shop around! And the best thing is their motto is...NO RULES! Anything goes....they find the slickest ways to do things and never judge...I just love them. Whenever you finish a project and take it to them to look at, they are all so supportive and kind... Well, I agree ,Karin....a quilt should not be a technical thing...it is simply a whole lot of love sewn so big that you can cuddle into it! Nothing better than that!!

Oh, and here is something....you know, the Amish always build a mistake into their quilts...because they believe that only God can make something perfect...so there ya go....we don't have to build mistakes into ours...they come naturally!!! LOL!

Bev. My boys don't tend to listen to my advice either, but they do have a good head on their shoulders, and I know that they will do the right thing, just like your daughter will. It is so hard to see our children go through.

Everyone, thanks for the comps on my fabrics. Will someone go to that www.dreamkingdomdesigns.blogspot.com blog and leave me a comment? I want to see that it works..

Bev, Your Etsy inventory is great! Such happy colors and great designs. I'm sure your grandmother probably had some barkcloth..I've always found it interesting about the history of the barkcloth..It was in the mainstream american home but the more affluent homes used the polished Chintz. I personally would have chosen barkcloth anyday over chintz.

Bonne, Your fire is sure to grow since there are more boxes of yarn on the way Oh, I had to step off my living area..From one side of my living room through the dining area (which is my computer area) into the kitchen to the other side of it is 21 steps...YAY!! I win...LOL

Karin, the quilt nazis..LOL There are 3 quilting guilds around me. One has the reputation of line up, do it correct or else get your butt thrown out..LOL The others are just come and have fun but they still have way too many projects with deadlines. I believe lots of these women have taken it on as a serious career..LOL And I know they'd all throw me out pretty quick for "noncomforming attitude".

Kathie, You have a child sized 50's table?? How cool is that..I want to see a picture of it. Sorry you lost the chairs to it.

I ran across a patriotic piece of fabric lastnight that has 1991 on the selvage...had no idea I had it.

Jess, are you preparing that recipe that Carol Sue posted?...sounds yummy

Ok, gotta get to work..someone hop over to the fabric blog and leave a comment.

Oh and Bev..will look forward to hear how this dinner date works out for your daughter.

Oh Great Idea Steph!! I'll take a Picture tonite before I post My new Aprons! I'd LOVE to find the cahirs to match it again one day!
Just broke my heart when the chairs got ruined!!!

My Sister is 10 years younger then me & has NEVER & STILL does not seem to have the respect for anyone elses things the way she really should..
But we had moved to Florida.. & I still had So much of my stuff in my Mom's garage untill we could come back to get it.. & she drug it all out in the yard! My mom of course was either oblivious.. or didn't care what she was doing.. (it wasn't hers..)
ok.. yes.. sensing some animosity there?
Anyway.. I was probably about 20 years old When I came back home to get some of my things & the chairs were gone.. & the Big Silver band of Trim that goes all the way around the table was off was just hanging there..
( I think i ended up yanking it off so the boys didn't cut themselves on it or something.. I can't remember..)
ANYWAY.. She'd left the chairs outside for ever in the summer weather.. in the sun & rain.. & they just got so ruined that my Mother tossed them out!

This table was given to me by my Great Grandmother!!
it was My Grandmother's Baby Brother Robert's table..Who was so much younger then my Grandmother.. that he was actually the same age as HER own daughters.. (My Mom & her Sister's) My Mom is only 16 years Older then me..! So My gtreat Grandmother had it in her house forever& thought it would be great to pass it on to me for My babies!
Which was great & we loved it.. Just wasn't taken care of at my mom's house for me!

There.. sorry.. that was My rant for the day!..

My little Table is Grey by the way.. I'll take a Picture..
Thanks for reminding me How much i love it Stephanie..!
My kids had the best time with this table!!!
(No matter what chairs I had to stick in there with it!)

Bev., I like the new look on your Etsy site. There is just something about having the pictures taken outdoors. This seller on Etsy has a lot of fun, with her pictures.

Kathie, Oh the poor little table I used to have a wooden childsized little round table with 2 chairs. It was probably 30 years old...I wound up giving it away when some children came in my studio years ago..they started screaming crying for "mommy" to buy the table..it wasn't actually for sale but I could see how they loved it and it left with them!

Kathie, that is what I am going to do with this transportation quilt, if I can get back on track. I am going to have different size squares, just to be different.

The Navajo women also weave in mistakes~ they intentionally make mistakes that will free their souls from the rug, according to the Spider Woman legend (she taught them how to weave). The rug is a coded prayer.

Bonne, I like that info about the Spider Woman Legend. Yeah, I mailed the boxes parcel post..before this last postage increase there really wasn't much difference between sending packages priority or parcel post...they wanted $8.00 more on each box to send it priority.

I'm gonna start using FedEX and UPS since I've got local shipping offices closeby..they have much better prices from what I'm hearing..didn't have that option from the mountain house..it's USPS or nothing unless you drive 50 miles to Chattanooga.

Glad you like all the yarn!!
