Well Bev..you took on your daughter's "energy of burden" and gave her your normal "good energy"... Just one more reason why mom's are great! Just throw that stress out the window and you will both feel good at the same time. LOL Although..I know that's easier said then done. Maybe they just needed to air their differences and realize that it's alright to disagree..that is unless it's something totally awful that was done to her..in that case..round us up and we'll go kick some *** and he'll never to it to another woman.

There is someone better for your daughter Bev., just like my brother found someone better. There are a few choice words for my ex-sil, but I can't say them here, nor are the words in my normal vocabulary. She does everything to try to ruin my brother's life and to add tension between my brother and his new wife.

I so enjoyed your pics- but I couldnt stay connected long enough to leave a comment- now I'm too tired to fight the internet-interrupter-
So I'll just tell ya here- I LOVE all that old glassware- really everything but I especially enjoyed the glass and old dinette!

Sharon, funny you should bring up the the oven door dress..I guess they are too cute to resist not making one. Somewhere is all this mass of bags either here or at the house I've got some that I made way back..had to have been in the past 8 years.

I recently ran across a tutorial for them and had to laugh. The tut is over at Kim Calamity's blog. She also does the fabric collage and so both the door dress and the fabric collage are a flashback to the 70's.

I wish I had some of the fabric collage I did back then. I'll post the dress if I come across it. I used to make them to give for presents. I really don't recall where or how I got the pattern. It may have been in a magazine.

There truly isn't much NEW under the sun..just different expressions of the same stuff that was being done 35 years ago. I laugh at the young adults who claim the bell bottoms and hip huggers right now..LOL That was my era.

Autumn, I've got more glassware in boxes. The dinette set was found up on Lookout Mountain in an antique shop and was stuffed in a corner with all kinds of stuff on top of it. It still needs more cleaning but it's come along way from what it was. There are 6 chairs with it and only one chair has a slash in the vinyl about 2 inches long..otherwise, they are all in good shape.

I posted some of the embroidery blocks I am making to put into a quilt for my pastor. You have just got to see them. They stitch out so nicely that they are a joy. Don't you think my pastor will love them? As they were stitching out, I said prayers for some of our MJF friends who have needed our love during these past few months.

Jess, Your flower pictures are gorgeous. So glad to hear your baby has started dancing, what an incredible feeling that is...

Naomi, your apron is divine, love those colors..

Stephanie, I love your hoosier. I have one sort of like that, not decorated anywhere near as cool as yours is. I love your yellow table and chairs, those old dinette sets are just so swell....

Today I've been going nuts with all my bug bites, I have to get some mamonia tomorrow, that stops the itch instantly. I did get to the beach with my girl to gather more rocks for the slowly expanding garden path I'm working on. We started our journey in the sun, then black clouds appeared and we had about fifteen minutes before it started piddling. And then the deluge, I almost had to pull over and wait it out , but by the time we got home, the sun was out.

Hey Karin,

I'm working late tonight to get some fabrics up on my dreamkingdomdesigns blog to get a start on this huge task.

I'd like to see your cupboard..My mom has my other one..LOL I used to have both of them that she gave to me and then I moved and needed someplace to store them and she was close by and I only got the one back when it came time to settle again The other one is completely different. I'll have to get my dad to take a picture of it so y'all can see it.

Thomas and I started out on a walk late today only to stop and watch a thunderstorm moving to the north. It was beautiful watching the movement of the clouds. So we started walking the opposite direction and made it about 5 minutes before a sprinkle hit us then a few and then we were justing walking in a downpour..it really felt good as hot as it was today.

Whoa, should have read this earlier to keep up.

Oh Kathie would that be a certain rhubarb crisp.....lol

Steph after this I will got check our your blog, I can't wait.

Hey Bev, hang in girl, go talk to those sweet goaties, that will help the stress.

Jess, those were beautiful pictures of your flowers how very sweet.

Ok Jess, here goes

Cherry Pie
2 cups canned tart red cherries
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon almond flavoring
1 cup cherry juice
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tablespoon flour
Mix thoroughly in a saucepan, the sugar, salt and flour. Add cherry juice, and almond extract. Stir until well blended. Carefully mix the cherries into the mixture. Let stand while making pastry.

Crust:
2 cup sifted flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
about 1/3 cup cold milk
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
1 Tablespoon melted butter
Sift into a mixing bowl the flour, salt and sugar. Add shortening. Cut it into the flour with a pastry blender until the mixture is in even bits no larger than peas. Sprinkle mile, one Tabelspoon at a time on a small area of the flour mixture.

Toss the mixture lightly with a fork after each spoonful of milk is added. Continue this procedure, adding only enough milk to make the pastry mixture moist enough to form a ball when patted lightly together. Roll out half of dough with quick light strokes. Fit into pie pan. Trim off surplus pastry. Brush this crust with the melted
butter. Roll out the other ball of dough for top of pie. Put cherry filling into pastry lined pan and dot with Tablespoon of butter. Bake on top rack of oven at 450 degrees for 5 minutes, then place on bottom rack and reduce heat to 375 degrees. Bake 35 minutes longer.

From Amish Country Cookbook Wilma Weaver (waitress)

So there you go my girl. Hope that helps with the major crave.

Please take a look at my dkd blog www.dreamkingdomdesigns.blogspot.com and see what I've done so far..Please leave me a comment so I know if that template is working properly and also that you could click on the Flickr album photos so they enlarge. My sister had a problem a while back with that so just wondering about it.

Carol Sue, Nothing worse then a machine messing up right at a finishing point..sleep sounds much better at that point.

And speaking of sleep..I'm pooped..

I haven't been sewing much~but I have been crocheting like mad~then Steph sends me more fuel forthe fire! LOL
Here's that dang tank I was working on~finally finished: http://bonne1313.blogspot.com/2008/05/tank-top.html

I'm starting another top~more of a sleeveless shell in lilac ombre(varigated), plus made a floppy brim hat I hate(won't use that pattern again)~and Elizabethian collars for my cat that wants to lick all his fur off (keeps him from reaching) You know, and the usual stuffs: kitcheny items and pouches(learned how to crochet in the round so I can try a beret). LOL

Man, I cannot keep up with you all!! I have spent the morning re-doing my Etsy. Please look at it and let me know what you think. Seems I am never happy with it....and it has been empty for months....so here goes.

Bonne...you lucky gal...what beautiful yarn! Oh, and I love the new header on your blog.

Kathie...somewhere along the line I thought You were looking for the cherry pie...sorry Jess! ( I was just a bit frazzled) Leave it to Carol Sue to come to the rescue.

Steph, I took a picture for you yesterday when I walked the dogs....i will post on my blog later.

Karin...hope you're itching a little less!!

Sheryl....those blocks are utterly amazing....you are the embroidery Queen!!

Daughter update....her honey called yesterday and wants to cook her dinner tonight.....we shall see how that goes. She is doing pretty good...the most resilient kid I have ever known. She said last night that if this doesn't work out, she is sure that it is because there is something better waiting out there for her. So, she has it all in perspective. And I am feeling much better about the whole situation.

What most of you don't know is the history of my daughter. She is 26 and is a beautiful girl...and very sweet. But she has had a rough time through the years. At 17, while sitting in the grass at a track meet (she was a pole vaulter)....she was hit in the head by an errantly thrown discus...causing quite a large depressed, shattered skull fracture. She had quite a big area of her right frontal lobe of her brain removed as a result. Amazingly, she recovered with only minimal effects to her brain function. To this day, she has a bit of a divot in her head (they were unable to put a plate in her skull because the fracture extended down thru her sinuses) so...... she is literally a little soft-headed! We went through some really tumultuous years following the injury, but with time, all has worked out and she is now such a sweet girl. So, you see, I worry more about her than I probably should, but she has been through so very much in her short 26 years....and that explains why, without my hairdresser's help I would be completely gray!!!
