Hey There Ronna!!! Good to See you Woman!!!!
Autumn.. You nailed it! isn't it so true! Our Rumps just Don't want to leave the ground anymore! Gravity must become way stronger after a certain age or something I've decided! Maybe like a suction cup or something! refusing to allow you levity from the ground.. i mean Really.. have you tried to jump lately.. it just does NOT want to happen ! Try it girls.. I dare ya! it's really pretty awful.. It's as if we are magnetized to the earth or something now!
& i HAVE tried a rope swing.. not recently.. but about 4 or 5 years ago.. getting on wasn't all that difficult.. But once i was airborn.. again.. my lower body just took over & wanted to hit the ground WAY faster then i was willing to.. & it just takes over ! Your rump just flops down as if it has a mind of it's own.. almost as if it's afraid to be much higher then hip level or something.. It realizes it's off the ground.. & tries to make a rapid decent for the ground.. & really doesn't care if the rest of you are coming with or not! Thats why we now always FALL on it all the time!..
Which reminds me.. I never did get to tell you all about the story from a couple weeks ago of my falling in the Kitchen.. too long to go into right now.. But the jist of it is.. entailing Old Man Dog Jake & his Many incontinace issues.. & one that I didn't see happen.. as I walked around the corner & wiped out .. sailing halfway across the kitchen floor.. bumping my head on the kitchen counter before I hit the floor.. cracking my elbow that i landed on.. whacking my OTHER ankle..(not of course to be confused with the one that I broke LAST year!) & finally landing on my back.. yes.. THAT back!.. All the while in the stench of Old Man Dog Pee.. God I Love Animals........ I swear The people at work must think I'm in an abusive relationship with all the bruises I have!

Kathie! gawd! Get a dog house built! You have mild weather~let old Jake whiz all he wants outside! He's gonna cripple you!
Ronna~spank! Pipe up like the rest of us, and for pete's sake, get that sewing machine out of dry dock. (Just between you and me~Most of us talk about sewing more than we actually sew sometimes~ha!! Sometimes Kathie just posts pics of things she finds online and "says" she made it. I've even heard she employs psycho clowns to do the sewing for her)

I haven't been making any aprons lately either Rona. I have been making other things, though. I don't have a sewing room anymore, either, since dh decided to give the room to our youngest son. So...I just use a table. Sigh...... There is nothing like getting the chance to sew to motivate one, especially if there is a project that needs to be made.
I am with Bonnie, we talk more here than we sew. |

Thanks for letting me in this wonderful group...always a laugh with you ladies, even when our lives are turned upside down. Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying. Oh, how I can relate to the heaviest section of my body...even when I was skinny and weighed less than 100#, I had a big rear end. Check out your knees, they do not age well for anyone. Saggy lumpy blobs in the middle of what were once attractive legs. Hey, I'm going to be 62 soon, so can't expect to look 20 anymore...but sure would like this extra weight to go live elsewhere. yes, I will get to that sewing machine one day and hope it won't sew through my fingers because I've let it sit so long. Almost two years old and has bout 2 hours on it, that's really stupid of me. Not like cars that brag about low mileage... Another rainy day here, after 100 degree heat last weekend. Crazy.

Oh Kathie!! You must be some sight! Never mind the sound and smell of your experience. Hope you are not too black and blue today. And sore. Sounds like doggy needs an outdoor home for the aged.
Yay, Ronna. It is so good to see you here. Idle sewing machines are our motto.

| Ronna, you got our storm. I live in California, and on Thursday, we had hail, down pours, thunder, and lightning. It has been raining since. We do have a short break, but more rain is on the way. It was so weird to have that heat spell, then all this rain. |

Sharon, Where in CA do you live? Unless you're north of about Santa Barbara, I'm farther west than you. Check out a map, I'm near Reno. It rained all day yesterday and we've had thunder, cloudburst and hail so far today. Snow might be next...it did snow south of Carson City and in the mountains around Reno on Thursday. My son is in SoCal for a wedding tomorrow, hope it's not planned to be outside or they have alternate plans. We took our new/old car, a '28 Dodge sedan hot rod to a car show last weekend and it was sunburn/lots of water/ice cream weather...excuse me while I go get some hot cocoa to warm me up. Just remembered to shut the timer off for the sprinklers. when I talked to my other half this morning (at work in Alaska), he said there wouldn't be enough rain to affect the watering..but now we have a small lake in the back yard. |

| I live in Southern California and we are close to the nearby mountains. We were told that it would rain and the news did not make a big deal about it, although they had flood warnings for the people who live near the fire damaged areas. I usually refer to this type of rain as living under a water fall. |

Kathie, I'm sure you could figure out a pattern for Dignified Diapers for Aged Dogs With Bladder Issues...doesn't that sound politically correct? Zan told me she saw an ad somewhere for parakeet diapers ( I really don't want to think about that) so I'm sure there would be a market for a product for the elderly whizzers... either that or you could get some shoes with suction cups on them, but somehow I don't think that will work.... The main thing is you can't be falling down, that's not good. It is such a dilemma, the elderly pets have such a hold on our hearts. There, no help at all.....but I wish I had a genius plan for you.....Karin

Well, I spent my day in my yard. I got all my soil turned in my veggie garden so I can plant tomorrow...took me long enough. I cut a new bed for corn...one for sweet...one for ornamental Bonne corn. I made a new bed for shade plants on the North side of my house...burned a huge pile of sticks...worked on compost...watched my husband mow the lawn...had a fabulous picnic in the yard for dinner with my kids and husband....watched a movie on my husbands laptop with him tonight...cried my eyes out for the last hour and a half because I finally felt this baby move. YOu know I can usually feel them at about 12 to 14 weeks..jeez this kid was holding out on me and making me neurotic.....what is this 18 weeks or something like that...i was about to freak...then I just lost it and could not regain composure..so here i am trying to type through tear streaming eyes. I am just thrilled that it finally happened...sometimes I just worry. sorry to go on about it but I have just been freaking for so long lately that I was really about to go crazy..now everything is good I guess adn I am just so happy I cannot pull myself together..sorry I dont mean to ramble...okay I am off to bed because I am a blubbering mess...I wish I had some yummy pie.

aww Jess so glad that the baby moved and you have a peace now with things. I can totally relate to the happy blubber tears..my last baby didn't move much either at first..she was just a little lazy at first, but made up for it though. And shoot when I was preggers with my son I had no idea I was until I was 5 months along! So hang in there gal..and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that this little gal or guy is healthy and just fine. and it sounds like you had a lovely day though. hugs, Tina

Nope haven't been a sewin yet, putting in daffodil bulbs, yes you read that right. Teresa got enthuisastic about bulbs that were free you dig, so putting right back down again so they can be where we want them.

Ahhh, the joy of feeling a baby move gives me goosebumps...and my youngest is 34 now! How sweet and exciting. Maybe this will be a very laid back baby and exceptionally easy on you. As usual, I've not accomplished much of anything. Sinus bothering me and sleep was so wonderful, I just went back to bed and slept more! Sun is trying to shine here, after a few days of rain and gloom. Hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying the holiday weekend. |

Hey, Happy Memorial Day all!! Whew, I have worked my buns off for the past few days...mowing, weed wacking, planting, painting. I finally worked up enough courage to get back on Moonbeam yesterday.....yikes was he a mess! I don't ride in the winter, cause the ground is always wet and snowy...too dangerous for these old bones. But yesterday, I found the courage...saddled him up (after chasing him around the paddock for 20 minutes...while he laughed at me!....long story) But anyways, it did a lot to boost my confidence.
Hey Ronna.....welcome....glad you finally spoke up....you are welcome to join in anytime!!
Kathie...how are the bruises?
Kathie, Bonne, Autumn, Sharon, Carol Sue.....Well, I opened my mouth too soon...as of today I am no longer an empty nester. My daughter, 26 just moved back in....separated with her honey of 2 years.....man am I sad....and having a bit of an anxiety attack today....just feel so crummy for her! She is a bit of a trainwreck right now.
Nay....what a cute apron...great colors!
Well, it took a while to catch up...you ladies are busy as usual!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!!
Tomorrow....sewing??? Yes!!!
Jess.....YAY!!! so glad the baby is dancing!! I almost feel like I am going to be an Auntie!!
