Man, I would give my eyeteeth for some vintage barkcloth....but it is always so pricey.

Hey Jess, love the desks!

Kathie....I am speechless.....love the blog!

Sharon....you have so much fabric already, why don't you start selling by the yard and then you could buy any that you like!!!!!!!!!

Now I gotta go add a few more blogs to my sidebar.

Bev. I have been selling my fabric on Ebay. I am selling only the fabric that I no longer want or need, and fabric that I wouldn't use for an apron. I am doing well with it, but not as well as the seller that I posted the link for. Last year, I sold Hershey Candy bar fabric that I have had for over 10 years. It sold for $38.00 for one yard. I about fell off my chair for that one. I still have some more of that fabric too. I think that I will post it again in the early fall.

I do have a weakness for the more expensive fabrics. When I was a teenager and young adult it was shoes and purses..LOL

Stephanie, barkcloth girl. I have to admit I think that it is really really cool. Have seen it a couple of times but out of this girls price range. I love the scenes that are on some of them.

Yes, I know my touchie, should be in bed but I had to come read quick cause I didn't want to get to far behind. LOL

Ladies, I just got back from the emergency room with my oldest son. He was in so much pain. up near the heart area, so they ran tests, but the tests were normal. The enzymes in his liver were high, so we have to follow up with a doctor. It was a full moon, and the waiting room and the emergency rooms were full. The hospital is the last trauma hospital in the area, so the ambulances kept coming. We were there since 8 pm, and just got home at 4:40 am. I have been up for 24 hours now and hungry, so I am eating and hitting the sack.

Oh My Sharon....when it rains it pours....how about his gall bladder?? Get some rest!

By the way...you mentioned Hershey chocolate fabric....our home in town is only 2 miles from their factory...the farm is a bit farther. Some days when I walk outside I can smell the chocolate.

Steph, my grandparents had barkcloth curtains and pillows in almost every room....unfortunately, when their home went up for public sale....well, I was not sewing that much and did not realize what a gold mine they had! I wish I could turn back the hands of time!

They only know part of what is going on. I did get some sleep, but the phone rang and it was someone from Hong Kong. Two weeks ago a person called saying that he was from India. The man who called today was persistent. It had to do with my website. Somehow the connection kept on getting dropped. Finally dh said, "Just say that you are not interested." That quieted things down, but I have done that before and it didn't work.

Oh, Sharon..what a drag..Emergency rooms are a nightmare anymore. Let us know when you find out what's going on. First thing I thought about too was the Gall Bladder.

Kathie, been there done that with two boys...one was so responsible and the other one..well..he wrecked his first car the very first night he took it out. I was living in San Diego, CA at the time and we found a 1972 Super Beetle..great shape..LOL until the first night of driving..

Oh, and that's a cool idea to do the alter ego blog!

My first car came from my mom and I paid her a certain amount each month and one month I blew all my money and she took the keys until I paid her..LOL I was never late again!

YES!! ALL of Their Curtains are loaded down with this Stuff isn't it? i love it though! So Funny!!!

ok.. no.. No car yet.. just in the begginings of looking stage now..
Just early enough that I'm thinking duct tape on her mouth sounds good..
She's the youngest you know.. AND only daughter..
We are buying it.. She'll pay us back in payments..
If we don't buy her a car.. we'll be loaning her one of ours..
& dealing with hysterics & insanity.. & late to work for her.. & why she can't do this or that.. & on & on the saga will continue..
This has been anticipated for awhile now.. we've all seen it coming..
& just waiting for the car to finally say it's had enough & it did a few nites ago.. Can you JUST imagine MY Daughter's Brake's going out?
MY Daughter?? Loud is not the word for the noise that comes outta that Girls mouth.. I only wish i could have been there to watch from a hiding place safely away from her.. (& know she was still going to be ok AFTER the Drama unfolded..!)
Oh My.. I would have Paid Money!
She can be quite the trip! I JUST don't know WHERE this comes from!
But it's pretty funny to witness.. from a distance!

One time I was following her home & we were both coming off the interstate.. Just as she approached the light her car stalled.. Not a big deal.. but she paniced.. & some how flooded it or something.. & it wouldn't immediatly turn over & start again.. Well i could pull in behind her.. but i went on through the light & crossed that road & parked on the other side & waited to see if it was going to start.. I had My Nephew Zachary with me.. We were laughing so hard at her we didn't DARE let her see us! She was HYSTARICAL! & was Screaming! "WHAT is WRONG with the Freaking Car NOW???" & Girls.. she was all alone.. Zach said "What's Her Problem?" he was laughing so hard i said "you better sit down.. if she see's you.. She'll knock you Out!.. Finally a coulpe Guys that were working on the road were able to get to her & got it going again..
But as they were walking away.. they were laughing too!

You HAVE to! She's too Damn Funny!!

ok.. well wish us luck on a car & that we don't wind up with.. Oh Heaven help me.. A LEMON!!

When I posted the message this morning, I didn't realize that the enzyme levels in the liver were as high as they are. I can not believe that my son was sent home without more tests. I called my dh's doctor, and when I told them the blood work results, they booked my son to see the doctor this afternoon. Two hours from the time that I called.

The nurse told us this morning that they couldn't do a CAT scan because they were not authorize to do it. You know what I think of that.

Bev. by the way, the other organs are fine. BTW the ultrasound showed an abnormality in the liver, so I am told.

The doctor thinks that it is the liver. Turns out that son misunderstood about the abnormality. Maybe, he heard that something wasn't right with the liver. The enzyme levels were high. The doctor was asking a lot of questions, trying to figure out what could cause the problem. I mentioned that my son was standing in a tide pool up north, and that there was guano in the water.
Since the lab was closed, we are going tomorrow to get more lab work done. The doctor wants to do a hepatitis panel. The liver is very tender.

Sharon; I hope everything turns out ok for your son. The worries of a mother never end, do they?

What does barkcloth look like? I am sure I've seen it, but I have never used it. Maybe I can look at it online right now!

Sheryl,

Here's is Sherry's Barkcloth reference..it is a collaboration of all of us that collect it. I'm not sure how long ago she started this album but it's been there since 2002 that I know of.. Anyone that has a design that's not shown can add the picture to the reference album.

She doesn't have hardly anything for sale right now compared to years ago when I was buying like crazy..I used to dream of some of the beautfiful stuff she would find..LOL Most way out of my price range. I love the english cabbage rose and so many of the barkcloths have that flower in them.

If I remember right she is on the east coast. Here's her ebay store http://www.vintagetresors.com/index/aboutme.html She used to showcase everything on her website and it was fabulous!

Anyhow, here's a good dose for y'all to view. You can click on all the pictures to see a larger view.
