Wow you girls have been busy, gardening, I love it. Yippeeee it is suppose to warm up and this weekend, shall we faint now, 80's. 80's wow. I think we went from winter to summer in one fell swoop.
I can't wait to see some of your gardens and get my bunsers in gear and get through some of pictures, yes label those puppies on the computer before I can download more.
I love the idea of thimbles because they are smaller I have a few from my mother in law, but they are regular ones, oh one is glass and one is from wood.
Sewing tomorrow yipiee and skippee.
Doc appt was ok, they put me on Nuerontin, now we pray that it does what I need.
Miss Jess since you are adopted by all us aunties and that little one, STOP PLAYIN WITH THOSE DANG ROCKS!!!!!! I am laughing cause I am no better than you. Did that a few years back and put myself in bed for 3 weeks with my back. Yikers that was a major bummer. So don't be like your silly auntie here.....lol
Hopin to plant a few things this weekend for the garden. I would love some bleeding heart, maybe next year. Two kitties asleep in my lap. Need to head for bed. Love to you all......

Okay my rock moving has seriously come to a halt. While mowing John noticed I had moved 3 small ones yesterday and had a fit that I need to stop and let him help me...so I m anot moving anymore, not even small ones....I just want to get this rock pile depleted and finish up these beds. It poured down rain all night...everything looks so lush and green, and summer green, not light springy green...whoo hooo summer here we come.
Nay sorry about your chickie.
Steph...have fun sortin through fabric...good luck parting with it....I can hardly even cut into some of mine.
I like the idea of thimles, but for me right now a thimble is just one more thing to lose, pick up off the floor, and forget to grab when I sit down to stitch. I will look forward to seeing pics of all your collections.
Has anyone seen Sharon, countrynmore? Her foot was hurt and her family was having trouble figuring out how to keep the chores at bay while she was laid up..now she has gone missing...wonder whats up.
Carol Sue, good luck with new meds...maybe you will have a reprieve for the summer with all those grands hangin around.
Bev..i have nothing but good goat intentions, so when you have a year with kids to sell, just put us on the list for a few.
Okay off to do my morning chores, late start today, I have been laying in bed for hours snugglin little people.
It is great you all are aunties! YAY!

everytime I get to the point of takin pics of anything outside these last coupla weeks it starts pouring down rain, so I gotta get a sunny day here sometime. Pics are coming Steph and Bev. I did not get good ones of my lilacs this year..real bummer, they are the dark purple variety adn are just amazing when they are all in bloom...I have 2 rows of them flanking my driveway..i think about 25 bushes or so. It is too bad I am allergic to lilacs, I sneez for a month while they are in bloom.

Ok Bev.. JUST the two Apron's.. & that was a fluke.. I HAD to for Mother's Day.. so.. Like Naomi.. JUST my Mini's too really!!.. & my Graden is flourishing right now too.. LOADS of green for me really.. i have some really pretty Bleeding hearts too Jess! But I think you heard me complaining that my well water is so awful it rusts things.. & my herbs are all looking the same colors now! Which is REALLY TO-ing me as my daugher would say! they still smell wonderful.. but ish! what an awful color! You guys would laugh when you see this! & JAKE wants to lay in them! Herb smelling old Dog.. Maybe he's into natural healing??
Anyway.. i have an Idea Bev..! Since we're all such hoarders.. oops.. i mean Collectors.. Maybe what we should do is let everyone know what we collect.. & what we happen to have multiples of.. or even things that we have Gobs of.. & we may just find that we can Trade!! Help someone else with THEIR collections & clear some of our things out that we don't really use or want now.. & let people know what your looking for or needing in your Own collection.. Huh? What do you think..? I probably should start a new Post for it though .. But it would be off the stitching thread then.. Hmmmmmmmm.....

as if this thread is about stitching...this is just a chat thread, that is what makes it great...adn we happen to stitch as well. we can pass our collections around on this thread..you know what happens when we deviate from this thread...we all understand each other here...you know...other places..we may not fit in quite so well...we have a history, right?

Change the color maybe when we post a list of collectibles!
Hows that...
Add to the idea box girls..

See I think we don't always realize some of the crap.. i mean lovely things we have that other people may really LOVE to have until we start doing a bit of inventory around the house! I'm compiling a small list while I sit here at work now.. we can always revise our lists you know..
I'll take two kids for the summer.. or.. 3.. give me three.. they seem to work better in pairs.. & then one for my hip.. I miss that!

Ok, Kathie...now what kind of kids do you want for the summer? The kind that play on the grass, or eat the grass...cause I have a few extras of the latter.
I think that is a splendid idea.....We could start a new thread but here on the sewing board...that way it might stay dedicated to collections....maybe name it something like We Don't Only Hoard Fabric!!! LOL....whatever you want to do is fine with me...even keeping it here.
I think that this is a splendid idea....cause I am sure we all have a little downsizing we could do....and it is so much fun to share treasures!!! Oh boy, let's get started!

Jess, I know it's driving you to distraction to NOT be picking up heavy stuff right now..just supervise and you'll get it all done.
Kathie & Bev, that's a great idea to post our compulsions..oops...collections right here...
I think this topic should go on forever..we can work towards getting into the guinness book of world records for the most pages in a forum thread.
I am going to have to be strong and REALLY cull out this fabric I've got so that means y'all are gonna be seeing alot of pictures..I need to start my own little "future cabin in the woods" fund..LOL So y'all will be seeing some realllllyyy good prices..
Once I get settled again I can start trading for stuff but now it's about reducing the "incoming"..LOL Well maybe I should rephrase and say only "certain" incoming like little bitty stuff like costume jewelry, fabulous wool yarn, fabulous beads...I can easily organize that stuff without a blasted storage room!
I'll have lots of bundles that will be good for quilting or making small stuff to..the thing about collecting vintage fabrics is that most of it doesn't amount to alot of yardage..just lots of pieces in different sizes.
Carol Sue, hope that new med does the trick.
I think Sharon must be overwhelmed with trying to NOT move around too much so her foot will heal..gosh, that's a bad place to get injured.
Naomi, glad you are moving past your evaluations and getting back to sewing..I know that makes you happy!
Hugs..

I'm loving the idea of posting what we like/collect/hoard. maybe we can dedicate an area of our blogs to our "wants" etc. It's so much easier to surprise "gift" someone when you know what they collect. UNFORTUNATELY, I happen to collect(among other things) sewing machines! HA!!! In fact I'm donating my Minnesota treadle as soon as ARC/DAV/Lupus/or KID foundation calls with a pickup date. Works, I just don't want to have to locate and buy special sized needles for it.

Kathie...it is actually easier than you think. I don't know a thing about comps and it just kind of did it for me, now if I could just stay on top of it daily I could really get it worked out.
Oh Bev...how are things coming with the quilting machine? are you getting it all figured out? How long does it take to do a top?

Oh and speaking of things that you want...I mentioned that I wanted something several weeks back and it showed up farmgirl style, delivered to my front door by my mailman. Our dear sweet sweet bev sent me the cutest egg scale that I have ever seen. I tell you everything small in my house has been weighed today..and only 3 broken eggs...i love and the kids love it. Thank you Bev!!!!! And I will definitely post pics of it tonight, both here and on my blog...I love this thing...it is great....Thanks again Bev!

Kathie - once again a brilliant idea from you! I think posting pics of some of the crap, I mean treasure, that we all have is a great plan. I know I have plenty of fabric I could part with, just for starters. And of course, looking for something for someone else legitamized all those junk store yard sale stops. I will have to keep my eyes peeled for thimbles, etc. Yester day I went to the local thrift shop and they had the cutest little globe pencil sharpener, I love globes and have a small collection of them, but I was really amazed that they wanted six dollars for it. I was just too overwhelmed to spend six dollars on a tiny thing just for me, so I passed it by. I'm going to take some pictures, but I can't seem to get them posted, every once in a long while, I manage it. And believe me, i have read all of those instructional posts several times. I just feel so thwarted...
MY AUNT ADA, WHO NEVER HAD ANY CHILDREN, USED TO TELL MY MOTHER THINGS ABOUT RAISING CHILDREN. MY FAVORITE WAS :CHILDREN'S WISHES MUST BE THWARTED. That just sent a chill down my spine. I think I may have to embroider a litttle pillow with that gem on it.....whoops, sorry, that was just sort of a brain fart, gettin' old, dontcha know? I'm wearing that wonderful apron you made for me, Kathie, maybe that will change my luck with the photo postings. I'll try again later after I get all my plants in the ground......Karin
