Fall colors and the crisp snap in the air is why hubby and I wanted to be married in October.

But no, we aren't really ready for it. The hot temps are far better than bitter cold, layers of clothes and wet, muddy feet and paws.

It so sad to see our tomato skeletons hanging limply and all the weeds that took over where summer's abundance once grew.

We planted 300 collards and 48 broccoli 2 weeks ago. Even in the heat a tiny bit of watering has the little plants looking good. Turnip and spinach seedlings are already up too.

Well I think fall is here in Wyoming! We had to have a fire going at my wedding and we all dozed in front of the fireplace last night. I wonder what the weather is doing in Idaho right now!

Amy,
lol...just to spite. That way things go for me it would just get hotter. I am ready for fall I wish it was ready for me. Oh well, I guess too soon we will be complaining about how cold it is. .....maybe

Oh yes fall has definitely come to Wyoming. It was in the low 40's this morning here in Green River. I didn't know until I read your post that you got married in Wyoming. Congratulations again on your wedding.

The temp here has been hot and muggy. Last night, it rained, and is supposed to be the front runner in a cool snap. Tomorrow and Thursday it's supposed to be in the 80's. I'll rejoice in that, but it feels like just a teaser. I can't WAIT to see the cooler weather come in. I've got a bench by my pond that I'll park my little self on, be able to stroll through the woods without worrying about stirring up a nest of moccasins on the creek or rattler's in the woods. Oh, yeah. I'm ready for fall! My mouth is already watering for homemade soups and fresh baked bread. In fact, any of you who have some good soup recipes, I'm searching for some! I'll post it in the kitchen section, too. I'm willing to swap out recipes -- got a bunch for bread! Let me know. Email or post it, either way.

OOOH! Got a great minestrone recipe.....REMIND ME by email early in October when I am home! Don't have the cookbook here in France, but it is a good one. I have actually had Italian women ask for it, so you know it ain't half bad. Love, Nance

My FAVORITE season! I LOVE fall! Cable sweaters, knee socks, corduroy, jackets and scarves... and the food is so good. Casseroles, stews, crockpot stuff, cider. And I love the crisp mornings, falling leaves and harvest-- preserving and the trips to the pumpkin patches and orchards. It's finally getting cool here, so I'm very excited.
