Ok, how long does it take you all to do a set? For me it takes at least 2 months, that's why I didn't join the swap (where you do 2 sets).

Am I just slow?

Here's the set I'm working on now for my inlaws anniversary.

I love that pattern ...realy really nice. With me it depends on how busy I am ..or how little I am able to sleep. I do alot of stitching late at night when I have trouble sleeping.

Heather, your work is beautiful. Better to go slow and have such lovely results than to rush through, not enjoy doing it because you're rushing, and end up with a finished product you're not happy with. I applaud you. Everything these days is rush, rush, rush. No time for craftsmanship.

Farmgirl hug,
Patricia

Heather, I am the same! I wanted to sign up but just knew that there was no way I would get them done in time! I am just slower perhaps with my projects! I am still knitting a striped poncho that I started 2 years ago! Your work is lovely and you can tell that you are taking your time and will have a lovely gift to give.

Heather, two months doesn't sound long to me, when you consider that they will be treasured for years and years! Beautifully wrought, too! Nance

Just beautiful!!!! Love your work. And I agree - best to go slow and do it right the first time and not rush. Your in-laws will love the fact that you took the time to make them something very special. I've been doing blocks for a quilt for the past 4 years inbetween my knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc. Sometimes it's rather hard to find time or a day to just sit down and do your craft work.

Peace and love.

Thanks Frannie. Is there a reason you can't? I know some people have too bad arthritus or can't see well enough. But, if you don't have those problems, I must say it's pretty easy to learn and you could probably learn.

And Annie yeah that's the thing, finding the time! I rarely have much time sometimes it's days between times I get to work on it, sometimes up to a week.

Thanks Queen, I will.

They are for my inlaws anniversary. This one should be done in about 4 more days I think. Then it's the other one! lol I hope I can get them done by their anniversary. (end of Sept)

you're too cute, heather. the reason i cant is that it just doesnt match up with my personality. i do scrap crafts, and sew and do some other things, i dabble hear and there. but when it comes to doing fine embroidery or needlework i am horrible. so horrible that i feel all knotted up when i try to do it, it doesnt relax me.
i have tried off and on over the years, cause i really admire the work, and i utilize some of the vintage work in my crafts if it is frayed or damaged in some way.
i tried counted cross stitch when i was younger. both sides of my work looked the same......bad.
here is an example:

i have posted this pic before. all of these items are made from something embroidered or cross stitched or knitted....but not by me. i just took these discarded items that i think are beautiful and turned them into something else.
if i could embroider a pillow case, or do some of the crochet or tatted pieces like you and some of the other farmgirls i would be
very proud of the work, and i wouldnt care how long it took.
but i have found a way to take the damaged older pieces and turn them into something and not want to scream while im crafting.
this is always a good sign to me that i am probably doing somethin i may not be capable of doing.
but i am a big fan of those who do crafts other than what i can do. please keep posting pics of your work....i for one dont mind waiting even for 2 months to see what you have created.

love

That is beautiful work and the pillow cases for the swap can just be decorated if you want. Instead of embroidering since I don't have alot of practice with it- I am going to tat on to the edges of my pillowcases. Just food for thought incase you still want to join :)
