I will be praying for you. Is it just gallbladder attacks or does it really need to be out right now? My mom has had attacks off and on and does have to be careful of her diet but she has found that liver cleansing tablets and letiten (or something that sounds like that) tablets help the attack go away when she does have one. She was getting prepped at the hospital for her gallbladder removal surgery and was about ready to go under the knife but decided then and there...hey, some people still have problems after their gallbladder is out so why not try to control it with eating and taking something for it when it does happen? So far, so good but there are many different situations when you should get it out. Hope that the recovery is quick - I know that it is usually an outpaitent procedure so hope you can rest easy in your bed on Wednesday evening!!

Susan, I think you will feel a lot better and it is a really quick recovery too! I had mine done three years ago and it wasn't a big deal. The scars are really tiny and you will hardly notice them. Best of luck and let us know how you do. Cindy

I am on the schedule for tomorrow at 11 am. Should go smoothly. Not concerned. I ended up having a very rough couple of weeks. Trying so hard to put it off but with Mom declining at a fairly rapid rate and my symptoms getting progressive, my doctor felt better now than in the ER with a dr I dont know and risk infection in my gall bladder. So...here I go.

Thank you all for your thoughtfulness.

Had my gall bladder removed 4 years ago July 10. One of the small incisions barked at me for four days. I loved the ice bag during that time. It was the incision that they withdrew the organ from. But a week later, I was doing pretty good.

I, too, have had a C-section, a hysterectomy and another abdominal surgery, so I am not a stranger to it, either. Now I can eat most anything.

Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted when you feel good enough! It will be a relief to you to have it over.

Susan- Just saw this and wanted to add my well wishes! You will be in my thoughts and prayers, have a speedy recovery too!
Mine came out 17 years ago at age 30. No attacks, no symptoms until that day and it was ready to rupture from so many stones. Better to have it out and know that you will feel so much better from now on!

with a happy heart

Hi everyone,
I spoke with Susan this afternoon, she called while she was waiting on a room. She sounded really good and everything went well.
