I live south of you in Florida, but my winter gardens are my favorites. The cool weather and the sunny days mean no bugs and good yields. I plant loys of broccoli and cauliflower - they can take a freeze. Lettuces are good in fall gardens, but freeze in the winter. Snap peas can take a lot of cold, too, and are so good! I plant them in the fall/winter....and to tell you the truth, our peppers keep giving off fruit for a long time into fall. I have even planted cherry tomatoes late in summer, and had a good yield in the late fall.
Happy planting! Jeannie
