Hi I'm Bobbi, I have a husband and 2 babies 8 months old and 20 months old, and I'm just popping on this board to properly introduce myself. I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, working outside in the garden and reading. We just moved out to a nice rural community that I love and it's really fantastic to finally be settled somewhere that really feels like home. We've only been here for a month and it already feels more homey than our house in town felt after 2 years.

All the best!

Hi Bobbi,

Not only am I also new to the Farm Girl Life, but this is the first time I've been in a chat forum, so I've got lots to learn! It does sound like you have your hands full~ I thought I had challenges moving on to 5 acres in to a house that's been gutted. But I don't have babies to keep me busy (my son is 23). I do have 2 beagles, and I'm getting used to the "critters" around here. I don't know the first thing about living on a farm, but I'm so excited about what's ahead. I've been to Spokan (year's ago) and it was beautiful. I'm sure the more rural parts are even more so. I'm in Shingle Springs which is in No. Ca, it doesn't stay as green as WA, and right now at 108 degrees outside, it's hot and dry. I need to research what will grow here with the changes in the seasons. I'm also hoping to get a couple of goats, sheep and someday a horse. Right now we are working on the inside though, we're down to sheet rock on the walls and the bare concrete/wood floors. No refridgerator, so I go in to get ice everyday.

I'd love to learn more about scrapbooking and gardening. You have wonderful hobbies, I'm sure the scapbooking is fun with the children being little and so many picuters to take as they grow.

Take Care,

Becky

Wow that sounds like quite a project you have going there!!!! A great scrapbooking project for you would be before and after pictures of all your progress with your new home. You could just take snapshots as you go and then someday when all the work is done it would be a lot of fun to sit down and archive it all and look at how much you've accomplished.

Hi Bobbi,

That's a great idea to get started with Scrapbooking. I've been taking photos here and there, and my dad has been up and taken some with his digital camera. I also found a scrapbooking store that carries nothing but scrapbooking supplies. A little overwhelming for a first timer, but it looked like a lot of fun~

Take Care,
Becky

No, but I'll check it out!

I was just outside clearing out some brush (the back yard is a tangled up tree mess) but I looked up and saw cherries, then I dug in a little deeper and found a very sad peach tree with one very sad rotting little peach on it, and a little ways beyond that, I found get this, a PEAR tree totally healthy little thing too!! I'm all scratched up from digging around back there but it was totally worth it! I'm totally pumped about this!

I guess I'm wrong I picked one and it was not a cherry but instead a very under ripened plum! So, we have plums!

I'm sorry but I am not getting access to your e-mail through your profile. Mine is active so please write me and I'll write you back. I've seen several for sale signs in the area driving around this week. Two of them are fsbo's so they might be worth looking into!

Hi Bobbi..welcome! I am also in the Spokane area on a farm in the West Plains area. It is so lovely here and I'm delighted that the weather has been so hot for all my tomato plants. We tend to have a quick turn in temperature in September so we only have a few more weeks of really choice ripening time! I'll have cherry tomatoes coming out of my ears if all goes well!! How exciting for you to discover a little orchard! Our honey plums are getting ready..about another 2 weeks. They are little sweet things and this year we have a tree-full. We are beside ourselves. We have 6 peaches that are almost ready too (second year tree) and oodles of apples for later in the season. My chickens love the apples. Have fun and welcome welcome welcome!
blessings, Julia
