After a week of bleeding, this pregnancy has finally turned into a miscarriage. Very confusing since the baby was healthy, the right size and had a strong heartbeat just yesterday according to the ultrasound, but that's how it goes. I know I should be totally distraught over this, but instead I'm relieved. Weirdo bleeding isn't fun and I'm glad to be able to move on from this pregnancy if it wasn't the right time for this little soul. We'll try again.

For now, Jackson is at his Grama & Grampa's house, Dan is flying home from a business trip and I'm off to finish Harry Potter #6 (for the second time) in a quiet house.

We're going out of town next week and I'm probably going to take a little computer break for much of the rest of the summer. Don't be surprised if you don't see me around and know that I appreciate each and every one of your thoughtful and loving comments!

Hi Catherine-

I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I understand how it sometimes can not be the right time to have a baby. I have had two miscarriages and I think I had a pretty good outlook on it. One of my sisters was pregnant at the exact same time and I can't even imagine having a baby the age of her girl! I think it is great that you are taking some time for some "just you" time and someday I am sure, when the time is right you will have another wonderful healthy pregnancy and baby. You will be in my thoughts! *hugs!*

Catherine...has the miscarriage been confirmed? I bled with clots and cramps at one point early on in my pregnancy with my youngest daughter, went on bed rest for a few days and then was fine. I forgot the exact name for the condition, but it was a small separation of the implanting placenta. Have your beta HCG levels checked before making any decisions, on consecutive days. If the values are dropping, then yes you are miscarrying, if not, then there is still a possibility that it is a minor tear. Just a thought.....Lots of warm, healing hugs and energy coming your way.

Catherine, wishing you to take good care of yourself and also have time to heal if it is a miscarriage. We sometimes forget to grieve and cry and just feel sorry for what happened and all this is a natural process for a healthy recovery, it just helps to move on with your life.

Just got back from the midwife and the ultrasound confirmed the miscarriage. No baby in sight (I definitely passed it and the early placenta tissue at home last night). Totally weird. Ah well, I'm still feeling relieved today. At least it happened quickly in my case...I'm not so sure I'd feel the same if this was dragging on for weeks. Thanks for all of your good wishes and prayers. You're all so sweet!

Hi Catherine-

I am so glad you passed the tissue. I hope you won't have to do a D&C?
