You all are so sweet! Thanks for the congratulatory notes and good wishes! I'm off to see my midwife today - mainly because I just love her so much and can't wait to get on her "roster" again! I know it's early to share the news, but we did this the first time around too and just don't like holding it in. Our whole world knows now! (Except Jackson, we're working on the word "baby" and plan to get him a doll this year, but he's still too little to get it yet!)
Thank you, thank you!
Catherine :)

See.....the breast tingle, it's a sure sign. I guess you didn't have a tingle, you something similar. At any rate, I thrilled for you!!! Cindy |

Congratulations Catherine! I'll keep you in my prayers for a happy and healthy pregnancy followed by a happy and healthy baby. What do you want? Another boy or a girl? Will you be finding out the sex of your baby before hand? Let us all know if you do. I'm so happy for you!

Oh wow! You all are still so amazing! Loving the good wishes and congratulatory comments! I seriously do a little giddy jump each time I read another...it's so fun to have so many loving Farmgirls behind us on this new endeavor!!!
Just saw the nurse today (my midwife is on vacation) and had the pregnancy confirmed. February 26/27 is more closer to the due date than our calculations (and much closer to the Leap Year Birthdate that is a distinct possibility!). Whatever...the baby can come whenever s/he wants to and we'll be happy to celebrate on whatever day it is!
YES, we will definitely find out the gender. We did the first time around and named him in utero too. We want that same connection to our second child and are excited to know his or her name and start using it!
YES, I will definitely share belly photos. There's nothing to see yet, but updates will be on my blog in the coming months, you can be sure!
Thanks again, you are all so swell!!!

Congratulations! And I must mention that I'm so excited you're using a midwife.. great choice! Will you give birth at home? I wanted and planned to with my baby but there was two of us in labor and only one midwife so I ended up at the birth center.. still beats a hospital anyday! prayers & blessings!!!

No, no...definitely hospital for us. Our midwife teams works through the hospital and they are fantastic. After our scary emergency C-section last time, there's no way that Dan or I can be talked into a homebirth. Just not for us. We love our hospital too and had a great experience there last time (Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis). They are affiliated with Children's Hospital right across the street and the combination is really the best care around. (Which is good, because Jackson needed it!)
I'm very excited to learn all about VBACs though. Definitely a goal.
Thanks again for all of the amazing good wishes everyone!! Still feeling great...can't wait til my first official midwife appointment on July 18 when I can get my early ultrasound. TWINS run in the family and we can't wait to find out how many heartbeats there are!

Hi Catherine!
Oh I am so excited for you! We found out the gender and named Nora in utero as well. I really loved having a name for her already. I am really glad we did because it took us a while to figure out a middle name!!
I know a lot of women do homebirths and I think that is wonderful, but I really enjoyed my birth center. They were awesome and I loved having the monitor. They needed to inject some Epi during my labor because Nora's heartrate was crashing so I am glad I was there. Some of my sisters had complications- including one who had to have a C-Section due to her baby's umbilical cord being to short for delivery.
Our hospital will let you have a midwife and will only call in a doctor if the midwife needs the help. So you can get the best of both worlds, and the rooms are really large and comfortable.
The biggest problem I had at my hospital was that the nurses would keep forgetting to shut the door. Since the room was really big, no one ever could see in, but it just bothered me. So my fiance had to keep going and shutting it. He said it didn't bother him (the door being open) at first, but when he saw that it bothered me, it started to bother him too. I am just more of a private person (you never would know it from how much I share on the forum! LOL) and I didn't want a casual stranger wandering in or looking in on accident (or on purpose!!)
I know your pregnancy and birth are going to be just great! Hugs!
Alee

LOL Jayne! :)
My pregnancy with Jackson was a dream, so I'm hoping for a similar experience. I also loved being pregnant and am excited to watch my belly grow as the weeks go on. I don't want to wish any part of it away, but I can't wait to feel my baby move inside me again!
I've pulled out a few of my maternity tops from the box in the basement. I certainly don't need them yet, but my sister reminded me that "pregnant is in" for styles this summer. So I figure, my empire waist maternity tops are just plain stylish! Fun, fun.
