I've been reading the magazines and now the book so finally had to check out the website! I recently moved to southwestern Iowa from Colorado to go to nursing school. Moved here because I'm a farmgirl at heart and wanted to be closer to the country. I enjoy lots of activities from spinning, knitting, weaving, painting, sewing, to gardening, canning and baking, etc. If it's an "antique" handcraft, I've probably tried it! Looking forward to sharing with everyone!

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. H.D. Thoreau

Hi Lisa!
Welcome to the website, but more importantly "Welcome to Iowa"! I live in a small town about an hour NE of Des Moines. I'm originally from Decorah up in the NE corner of Iowa. What part of Colorado did you come from? Iowa's terrain is certainly different. Good luck with school. Have you already started, or do you wait until this fall? I'm just learning how to spin, but I am an avid quilter and I restore antique quilts part-time. Like you, I've done probably every antique handcraft there is. You'll enjoy this website!

To live without farm life is merely existing, to live with farm life is living life to it very last experience.
