trying to make sure I let anyone know who might be concerned about my lack of participation in the future
My husband said we might move to a town named herriman in salt lake county in the next few weeks. We had planed on moving in August to somewhere who knows this just sort of happened sooner we will find out next wed or thursday. If this happens my address will change and hopefully this won't mess with swaps and such. I am a little concerned about that. But not near as much as I am on packing up a 13 room house plus attic storage and basement storage and shed storage in a little under a month yikes. My sister in law will be moving into my home with her little growing family so anything that might come to this house I should still get just fine. (there will just be a lag of a bout 1 month between when we move out and they move in) So that is the part that concerns me with the swaps as our new home is about 1 hour away and not so easy to check the door step here if I am there.
Also if you don't see much on the boards in the next little bit don't think I dropped off the face of the earth just super super busy.
Take care sunshine

Wow, sunshine! I'll be praying all goes smoothly. You shouldn't have any problems once you put a change of address in at the post office. Once you do that they will forward your mail for the next six months.

Gosh, Sunshine! That's wonderful! How exciting for you and your family! (Well, and a little nerve-wracking as well!) Good luck to you.

This is a pretty big step! You will have a lot of stuff to move too, we have seen the pictures. What kind of a house are you moving to? Bigger or smaller? City or town or country? Keep us posted and good luck with all that packing. NANCY JO

To nancy
It is a bigger house sort of the basement is a walk out but that part isn't finished so in that respect it will be smaller at first once we finish the basement it will be bigger.
The three girls will each have their own room that is a plus no more fighting over who made which mess in which room.
It is a new part of a small town not sure how to describe it. it is town but not near the businesses area, residential I guess you call it. There is a park that begins where our back yard ends ( if we move that is). So that will be extra nice for the girls too.
I will have sewing room that is 12 feet by 20 feet in an attic space so pitched ceilings that is fine it will be the most room I have had since collage when I had studio space at school.
There are three bathrooms and a covered front porch with room for a swing an nice covered back porch and deck big enough for bar b ques and tables .
No grass or anything that is green yet no trees sad. That will be one of our projects some real hugh boulders in the yard for the kids to climb on I want them left I like them.
A large storage fruit room under the front porch to keep food cold.
A nice closed in gas fire place, which is good as I have lots of nieces and nephews and would worry about getting burned with open flames. You can see the firesf rom two side in the kitche dinning area and family room.
A big kitchen a first for me I might actually be able to store all my kitchen supplies in the kitchen and a pantry room just off the kitchen.
Three car garage we only have one car so lots of place to store furniture that will in time end up in the basement once it is finished.
A private bathroom for me and my husband with a garden tub with a walk in closet in the bathroom too.
It is a real lovely place but we only plan on being there 6 months to 1 year we hope soon to build our dream home.

Thanks Alee,
Tthat would be kind as every time we have moved I have had to do all the packing and my husband just comes in at the last moment and moves the big items which is a big blessing. But that is the quick part one day not the three weeks before and after every move to get settled. He would help more but work has always been in the way his dad and brother have helpped a lot in the past but one is back east on a church mission ( not home for 6 more months) and the other is taking care of two 95 year old parents both real ill. So I think it is me and the girls packing and un-paking us all. Oiy!
At least the last day of school is Thursday and we are doing my middle daughters birthday 2 months early so she can say buy to her friends.

After being here over 18 years it is mind bolgging how much we ( me) Ha have gotten. Oh woe is me ; the packing is getting to me. Ha. I haven't moved in over 18 years or more.. Hugs Sheila |

Sunshine, It is always brain wreaking during a move, but the dust eventually settles & you will be able to get back into the "normal swing of things". I too will be moving by mid July. I plan to get a P.O. box in Spokane when we go up there in 2 1/2 weeks & then start forwarding all magazines/insurance/correspondencs etc. tiothe P.O. box. which I will keep for as a alternate address for my ebay sales & purchases. Maybe you can make arrangements with a trusted neighbor to receive & forward your UPS/Fedex stuff. Good luck in the move & don't forget to "come back home to us" when you are setteled.

Hi Sunshine, Wow - good luck with the move. We are moving too in the next 4-8 weeks; luckily, I have been hoping this would happen for a while so have been packing non-essential stuff already. I hope the letter my daughter sent reaches you before you go! Please let us know your new address when you are settled, and so will we! I won't send anything more until we hear from you. All the very best wishes - and your sewing room sounds fantastic! Jayne |

Blessings! Your new home sounds lovely ... we are still in the midst of finding one/deciding what's best for us at this time. Transistion home or older farm further from work.
Tips for you: You can actually pack all that in 3-4 days!! Less than two weeks for sure and for certain! ;)
First off get past the idea of what you "need" to survive and whittle it down to only what you would take on a long camping trip. Seriously! Pack suitcases with the clothes you want to wear, and stuff. Make a space just for it - perhaps empty a big closet or one of the kiddy's rooms. Here's your chance to get rid of that ugly couch you hate... things you've been saying you'll go through someday....
Make a list/schedule of what you want to do when. Mon- bathroom, linen closet Tue - girls room, etc. All the things that need to be done before you move (check out militarywives.com for lists and tips. Even though it's a "short" move it's still a move!)
Then go room by room and pack EVERYTHING else and I mean everything! Label it clearly - you can buy labels at moving stores or make your own (something the kids might enjoy). Personally I try very hard to only work in that room! Make a throw it away box/trash can, and a give away one and a it doesn't belong in this room one! Then work work work only in that room for the day. Unless it's small and you think you can knock out two. This usally takes about a week - depending on the size of your rooms and what else needs to be done that day. Remember don't pack two many books in a box -- they get heavy very quickly! Even if you only get that one room done you will still have accomplished more than you will be running from room to room.
And don't pack just stuff - if you can pack like with like so you don't wind up with boxes of misc or I don't know what's in here stuff.
It's much easier to unpack if things are clearly labeled and actually are what the box says it is! Trust me.
Hope that helps.
Have a wonderful move and make it fun for the kiddos. Pretend you've never been to your new town and research things to do/see. Make a list of all the things you are looking forward to.
Holly
ps --- oh and ziploc bags are one of my favorite moving buddies! especially now that they make the big ones! Liquid medicines and herbs/spices; silverware; small toys if they don't have their own bucket already; craft supplies; any number of things! Then you don't wind up with a box full of pieces to sort through!
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

This is so exciting, Sunshine! I can't wait to hear what your plans are - though I'm not too keen on the idea of you moving FARTHER from Jenny, Kate and me. BUT, it sounds like it is a great stepping stone to the house you want to build.
And, Holly - those are great moving tips. Let me guess - you've done this before?!?!?! (hee hee) I'm for sure going to share them with a gal I know who is moving soon.
XOXO, Libbie

my husband closed on the house today so if everything funds then tomorrow we will know for sure. if it funds tomorrow I will be moving in the next 30 days
Nothing like owning three homes sort of weird to most people. And yes you can buy a home without a pay check and it wasn't government subsidized you just have to have a good credit rating ( a very high credit rating) and a no doc loan. That just shows even without a paycheck you are able to pay all your bills and such as you have passive income so that is what we did This will actually put us in a more stable possitive. I know this doesn't make since to a lot of people but it is stuff my husband and I have been studying for the past 3 years on how to do things like this that are principle oriented not only will this help our family but 5 other families as well be more stable.
