Elizabeth, count me in on the apron swap. I was too late for the last one, so I am putting my bid in early for a slot on this one!!! Pair me up with another plus size farmgirl if you would be so kind when the time comes! *g*

I sure don't know what is happening on your blog, but I'm sorry you are going through whatever it is you are going through. Remember kindness begets kindness and whatever one sends out they will get back multiplied!!!!

Since I'm still a newbie to this site, could someone explain the details of both swaps to me? Requirements and all?

I love tea towels (btw- I have always called them 'tea towels' since I lived in Scotland as a child and my Mother has says tea towels) and I need a new apron....don't sew too well, but would be willing to hone what I have learned and do something fun.

I would be wanting to trade with a 'volumptous' FarmGirl...like myself (cough, cough, wink, wink).

Let me know....Thanks in advance!

Hey Peg..I don't think the swap is active yet, and Elizabeth usually requires that swappers have the true blue star status, which simply means that you have posted 50 times on the forum. When you have 50 posts you will notice that the stars under your name turn blue!! So since this swap hasn't formally been set up yet, you have time to start posting. You are already at 23 so you only need 27 more posts to hit true blue. I think she is going to set it up next month. So far there are at least three of we abundantly blessed farmgirls in this swap!!

Thanks for the 'heads up' Aunt George! You Rock!

I think since I'm such a gabber I can reach 50 stars by, um...tomorrow or the next day. hehehehe!!!

I am loving this site...it's bringing me to where I want to be in life. Oh, and I love the 'abundantly blessed' part...yuppers!

big hugs!

Okay.....even though I said no more swaps for a while, I want in this one. It might actually get me motivated to dig out the sewing machine.
I have procrastinated long enough.

Hello,
It seems that we have alot of people wanting to do an apron swap. I will put one together in June sometimes. The curent one is over the end of May, The next one I am thinking of having them all mailed to me and then I will send them out. That is so much easier. I have 1 request will someone make a tiny one for me. LOL It is just as hard to be tiny as it is to be fluffy. LOL
Hugs,
Elizabeth

fluffy that is cute I will have to tell my 5 foot 2 inch mother in law she is fluffy I am not sure how she will take that. ;0).

i wish I could play but I am probably moving in the next 2 to 6 weeks which is concerning with the swaps I am already in. But please ladies make a post some where here on MJF that we can all see the lovely aprons.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

Elizabeth,
What about instead of everyone having to pay twice for shipping, we have a secret pal swap. We would know who we need to send one to and we would be surprized who got our name. That way we can also send along little extras. We could have a "questionire" for sizes and colors and prefrences. I have hosted more and been in a lot of swaps in other groups and it seems to work very well.

When every thing is sent to the hostess you make sure that those who forget or get behind don't get something unless they make something. I am guessing that is the reason why otherwise you have a person who sends something and never gets something back very disconcerting.

I guess it depends on the group. Typically, if a swapper drops the ball on not sending out their box or is very late, they know that they will not be able to participate in future swaps by that hostess or other hostess'. In my soaper groups, it is the hostess' responsibility to have an emergency box to ship out to who ever didnt get one. But sometimes when life gets in the way, and you can not send a box, you send a $50 gift certificate to your pal from a favorite shop online. Soapmakers have been swapping soap for over 10 years at this point... so most of the bugs have been worked out on swaps, co-ops,and shipping.

Shipping typically is $9 ish flat rate with delivery confirmation. Having to pay close to $20 because of the layover seems a lot. I would rather send lots of extras to my pal than give it to the USPS.

Hi Elizabeth,
I don't require flat rate shipping. Everyone sends me an evevelope with the amount of postage it took to send it to me. An apron shouldn't be but about 3-4 dollars each way. I have tried the other way and it is a headache. Some people don't send and some send months past the dead line. I have had to send out packages out of my pocket lots of time in the past and i want to avoid doing that. It gets too costly for me. The girls here son't have a problem with sending things to the hostess. That is what works for us here at the farm.
Yes Sunshine fluffy. That is what my dd says. She says she feels better refering to herself as fluffy.LOL
Hugs,

OK...I'm almost to 50 posts!!!

Can someone tell me what they usually send in the Apron and Tea Towel packages (besides the apron and/or tea towels)?

Keep me on the list, please. Also- do we make half or full aprons?

HiPeg,
Full aprons. Just a little extra like a pattern, dishcloth, something a crafter would enjoy. We keep the tuck in under 5.00

Hi Elizabeth,
I would definitely like to do the apron swap again and any way you choose to do it is fine with me. The last one was so much fun!

Thanks for the 'tuck tip'...hehehe.

OK...now....some funky cool apron patterns to chose? Suggestions?
Keep in mind...I will be asking DH to help me with this since he sews better than I do. But, I promise a wonderful apron (even if my Mom gets involved).

Do we just pick out any fabric we want too? OK, looks like Peg is going to need any and all rules, so I don't annoy with all my 'newbie' questions here....duh.

Hang with me...

Peg, when the swap is on, then the moderator will let us know the rules of the swap. Whether we each get a partner or if we just all send to her and she sends them out according to fluffy or minnie...well that will be decided on then. She might set a theme, like Christmas in July or Independence Day or family picnic or red/white/and blue, gosh, that will be totally up to her. So hold on little buckerette and wait for our apron mistress......Miss Candie'smom, to give us the starter gun! LOL

And see.....true blue farmgal......didn't take ya long.....good goin'

Okay (takes deep breath) I think I am going to jump right into this sewing thing with both feet. Please add me to the swap and I will do my best to sew something nice! I might have to make myself a few practice aprons before I send one out, but that's okay! I could use them!
