Bev- That apron is just bee-utiful!! I love that fabric. But, I'm never wearing an apron again. I do not look like that in mine. ;)

G- I do not believe that yours look like Fred Flinstone aprons. There is just no possible way. And thank you. That is a high compliment coming from the Queen of Aprons (Large and Small).

Queen? Gee thanks......LOL.....today I am the queen of costumes. I'm making a Civil War Dress and petticote with pinafore and a colonial Shopkeepers dress with apron and mobcap......Must have them done by Saturday. The girls are going to a costume party at the Barnes and Nobles in celebration of Magic Tree House, so they have both chosen characters from the books to go as. Then it is making a Dolly Madison costume......gotta have that one done by Monday! YIKES!! I have been drafting patterns like mad this morning already!! Now I am ready to sew.....sew....sew!!!!

Bev.....wish my "dummy" looked like that!! I keep Big Bertha in the attic, because she looks a little too much like me!

LOL

Later....gotta sew!!

I did make an apron today...well not the standard apron , but rather a Civil War costume apron for my daughter. She is going to a costume party this weekend. The theme is the Magic Tree House book series. She is dressed up like Annie from the cover of the book: Civil War on Sunday. I'll post a photo of the bookcover and a photo of her in my version of the dress and apron. I still need to make her petticote and hem it add buttons, etc...finishing work.

My daughter on our front porch. the apron is much fuller than it looks here....she has it scrunched up infront of her! LOL

Here is is on the sewing manniquin.

Couldn't resist taking this backside shot. LOL

Book Cover I'll add a link to the publisher below this photo.

http://www.randomhouse.com/kids/magictreehouse/books.html Let your kids go to this site. They have some fabulous activities for the children for these books and you can order from them too. There I've plugged the publisher!!

Hope you like this one. This is what I've been doing today. I have to make my other daughters costume tomorrow!! Toss up between Mediaevil gown or a pioneer or colonial.

Well, for some reason I never looked at this post before, so when I finally decided to peek, there were 12 pages to skim through! One person posted a link to Aunt George's blog from a year ago and then I had to look at that too. And guess what? I saw a picture of Aunt George! Aunt George, you're so pretty! You've got talent and beauty too!

We should try to keep this thread going....making it the longest in the history of the Farmgirl connection.....and since we are all addicted to making aprons, that should not be a problem....so here is one I did today.

Bev another winner!! I love what you did with that ruffle/bias tape. Never thought of using it that way before, but it really workds. I love this pattern. Haven't had the chance to try it yet, too busy painting, ripping up carpet, redoing my bathrooms and kitchen.....sheesh....that little farm is calling to me. Found another dream farm near Spencer WV!! big sigh......

But back to your cherry pretty apron..........FAB!!!!! This is a pattern that I think would look lovely on we fluffy farmgirls!!

Oh, and Sarah, thanks for thinking I'm pretty. AT the moment I am drenched in sweat, covered in paint and wishing that I were sewing!!! I will sew tonight when the kids are settled in for the night and Bev....you are right....let's keep this thread going!!
