Went to the antique mall where I live today and saw about 5 treadle machines in various conditions. $95-$279. All needed new belts~where does one get replacement belts etc. for the old treadles?
Hubby asked his dad about the treadle they have in the dining room~they won't give it up yet........his mom lives in a nursing home~ That means I don't get it. Pfffsstt!!! Figured that~ I'll be buying my own.

I saw a "sewing machine belt" on the Dritz wall in JoAnn's yesterday. I don't know if its the one you need or not.

Woo Hoo!!! Jess I wanna see pics of the machine and your aprons.

We just had a tornado touch down in columbus, and it is moving north.... Who are the 2 farmgirls that live an hour or 2 north of me... Hope you are safe!

BTW I ordered the no frills frilly apron... and the pattern has just arrived... I have to get it enlarged.... but I will try in the next week make one and I will post it with my comments. BTW Ya know I will make the first one true to the pattern, and then the next I will alter... I always do that... cuz it just isnt really mine unless I do that.

Okay E, you asked for it.

Who else would do a ruffle with camo? That's me. Bias tape is camo too. ;-)

And yet another one...I know the bias tape looks blue in the photo but it is actually lavender.

But wait! There's more! (I have three more after this that are mostly done but not quite done...) The sides of this are wrapped back to look more "person sized" but it is wider of course from the waist down in actuality,

Hey Denise (levisgrammy),

Yeah, that's the kind of money we want all of our customers to spend!!

I thought it was very unique and 60+ years old too!

Nashbabe,

I've made two day trips to Murfreesboro and surrounding area in the past 3 weeks....I couldn't get over the growth in Murfreesboro...I think it had maybe 32,000 pop when I left there 15 years ago..It is now 93,000 and growing. We will probably look out towards Eagleville.

I have a totally different life than I had the last time I lived there and am going to be living within 15 minutes of where I left from 15 years ago...Life is a journey for sure..never know where we'll wind up

The next trip will be over to Franklin although since real estate is a bit pricey over in that area I think it will be just for shopping. Do you go to the Franklin thrift shops? I bet they have really nice stuff

If we come on a Saturday the next time I'll find the Franklin Farmers Market and look you up...What is the name you use at the market?

Talk to ya later, Stephanie

Stephanie, it's a small but really nice market, and you'll know me when you see me. :-) I sell aprons, air fresheners, candles, soaps, shea butter creme, flaxseed eye pillows, etc. etc. etc. :-) I'm there most weekends. Yep, the 'boro is a lot bigger. Could always also consider Wilson county but it depends on where you want to live. :-)

Hey Nashbabe,

We drove up to Lebanon...I lived in that area when I was about 14 years old. The little town is restored and full of antique shops and I saw a quilting shop but we didn't ride around and look at the area any further since our time was limited. Mount Juliet puts you a bit closer in to Nashville. What the population and traffic congestion like in that area?

Well, wilson co is getting bigger but all the outlying co's are basically. It's kind of the place where people who used to just out of hand look at williamson are going instead in a bunch of circumstances. Of course schools are an issue that I can't really address for you in rutherford or in wilson...HTH

If this were ancient times, I'd have my Viking hubby go capture Nashbabe and I'd set her to work making bias tape full time. ROFL!
Can't wait to see your next work of art, Georgann!

Your aprons are very nice. I was reading your blog about the farmer's market. You are right about having a variety. I am glad that you did fine towards the end. It really makes the day seem long when things go slow.

Oh, that will help. Then I would certainly not worry a whole lot about williamson, wilson and rutherford will work fine I would think. If you want acreage then of course davidson will not do...

okay ladies...my computer is moving very slow..so slow I missed an auction yesterday and am just sick about it...but .......i have been playing with my new treadle..itis so much fun...Bonne...you can get belts online, but my local sewing machine repair guy carries them, and gave me the full instructional on how to install and cut to fit and attach the little metal clippy and the whole nine yards...of course all the ladies that were in there were in heaven!!

This machine is great...original manual...lots of the pieces and attachment s are here too...so now I will become an attachment collector!! just what i need! anyway..you girls may not hear from me much whilst I am playing with this one, and I still have 2 more to go collect up and bring home..

and...my husband says to me...wouldn't you just love to have one of these in every room of the house!! Boy..how fun is that..now when I send him on pick up missions, I know he will be in on my fun with me!!! This could be dangerous!!
