Jessica and Carol Sue and Bev,
I made a mother/daughter apron set for the women's club Christmas auction last year and it drew in $50 for the set. It was one of the hottest items. So yes, great idea. It was made from vintage Christmas theme fabrics. I didn't get a photo of it though.....argh....they were adorable!!

Bev..............love the tractor, be sure to get yourself a reflector triangle for highway driving! LOL

I've made a lot of aprons lately...recovering from surgery, couldn't lift a whole lot as a result. But fabric is light. :-) Here is one...

Where be those wrap aprons?!!

On the mother thang, my mother was 40 when she had me. Everyone else's mothers were like 28 when I was in grade school, and mine was in her 40's. I think these days, women are marrying later and having familys later, but back then it wasn't common. I resented it as a kid~finally got over it, but I also resented that my dad died when I was 12.
I was too pooped wrassling teenagers in my 40's (my son and my hubbie's twin boys~all the same age)to be changing diapers too! LOL Now that they are all fairly independent, I AM looking forward to grannydom. Yeah, the spoiling part~let the parents deal with the rest! ROFL!

nashbabe...very cute apron.

ok, so i never mustered up enough energy to make an apron yesterday. i was pretty useless. i did manage to get a kid craft out with my son. oh, and some carrot cupcake from scratch. yum. and then we had company over for supper last night. that is three nights in a row. it is just me and the fam tonight, though. i did go through my vintage aprons last night and found a couple of apron patterns to try. so, hopefully i can at least get one cut out today.

well...i am on a cleaning rampage this morning so hopefully from 12-3 i will be a sewing genie...my machine runs 90 miles an hour when i sew...i always follow this thing that a woman i met at the cutting counter told me once..."sew with a red hot needle like your thread is on fire." It is really good advice, some peole get so bogged down with getting it just perfect that they cannot get much accomplished very fast...i sit down...put the pedal to the metal...and away we go..oh...back to cleaning!!!

OOOOOoooo maybe that's another thread, but I'd love to see pics of vintage aprons and patterns!! My sister gave me these 2~a gingham embellished with black cross-stitch, and a crocheted one. I'm so thinking about going to the antique mall just to get ideas........

Nash, Great Apron! So show us some of the others! I am glad that you are feeling better.

Bonne, I realy like the gingham one. I have some gingham fabric, but I have not done anything with it.

I had originally intended this to be a patchwork skirt, but it looked too "Tammy goes to the County Fair", so reworked it into an apron.
