Smoothie Juice, Miss Jess would there be a chance to get a copy of the heart childrens ones. It is what I am doing for them for Christmas, aprons for them and their dolls, and one for dd. How fun is that. Stephanie loved the mini pumpkins. You girls make me laugh...drat it migraine, change of meds....good in the end, rotten while going through.... I don't care I am taking meds and figuring out an apron. The book on menuapuse, yes ma'am do we need those. I have had hot flashes and sweats since my 40's and still have the drat menses, plus migraines galore. 50 now and hoping soon for a change!!!!!! Aprons....yep great therapy....quilting therapy...yep yep.... Carol Sue
Enjoying life. |

Don't worry Na.....you'll be safe at the farm with us.....no one will try to steer you the wrong way.....they are all big talkers. However, I am keeping my eye on Elizabeth....don't want to wake up looking like an Amazon woman....I am going to have to go into training...I have always turned into a pumpkin around 9 or 10 PM.....just slip some Benedryl into my dinner and I will be set. I have a funny church story about one Sunday morning that I took Benedryl for a cold not knowing how it would affect me......I was very quickly ex-communicated (not really, but I did embarass myself!....and I was the cherub choir director....shame, shame!)

Gosh, I go to work and come home and ya'll've been talking up a whirlwind!!! I just can't go to work again!!
LOL.....yeah right, me working at Hancock's is like turning a kid loose in a candy shoppe!!! LOL
Stephanie and Bev and all of we non sleepers....Bev gave some good suggestion son the prescription drugs. Seen lots of good results from the Ambien unless you are over the age of 70...might cause some problems then.
Herbal Tea: Powerfull knock tea: Republic of Tea Lemon chamomile (it has chamomile, skullcap, hops, linden...all powerful seditives. It knocks me out.....knocked my mom out for almost 3 days when she couldn't sleep.
More Gentle sleep tea: Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Tea (doesn't have the skullcap and linden)
OTC medication: Besides the Benadryl, look for the sleep aids that have Doxylamine Succinate as the main ingredient. Combine it with dose of B6 and you have a potent sleep and anti-nausea aid. It is used world wide (except in the USA) as a powerful Anti-nausea medication for morning sickness. It was taken off of the market in the USA in 1980. The FDA was concerned that it could cause birth defects, but it has proven not too. (this combination was called Bendectin in the USA. But of course if you are pregnant, please discuss this with your OB/GYN doctor.
Of course their is an evening meal of Turkey and Warm Milk. Both have the tryptophan link. Here are other things that may help: no eating after 8pm, vigorous daily exercise, hormone therapy, massage, warm showers
Just some suggestions.
Oh and Nay you can always stay with the girls and I. We will be running a tea totteling tent...totally G rated!! LOL

Hi gals! Melatonin is what my son's doctor said to try when he was 2 years old....didn't work great at first but eventually it was the only thing I could count on to get him to sleep. He is adhd and drug/alcohol affected, adopted as a foster child. I never heard of it causing depression but I shouldn't be surprised. I am glad to learn all that I can about it. I know that it was safe to give him at 2 years old an adult dose is 3 to 5 mg. He has taken that for 4 years!

Georgann, got the pattern today too. Thanks so much for doing it up and sending it out to all of us. Can't wait to sew it up - possibly tomorrow.
Thanks again, sweetie.

You don't use batting~it's 3 layers of regular fabric that frays. I love them because you can use ugly fabric for the middle sandwich and use it up(since it doesn't show)~LOL |

Yes I am Naomi! In fact I am so old that when I went to college, the drinking age for hard liquior was 19. Dont let the fact that I have a 6 month old fool you. I am the oldest person on this board that has the youngest kids. LOL and we are thinking of having one more!

No its is ok, I know that I am old. The cashier at the store asked me how old my grandchildren were. She looked like she was still in high school, and her kids were older than mine. So I probably was older than her mother.

Hey Methuselah's sister..................You better hurry on them babies.....................I had my last one when I was 41.....I'm 49 now and it don't get any easier the older ya get. LOL
BUT, I was mistaken for my son's wife and my girls were mistaken for our kids! LOL.........Now that felt really good
But there was another time....I was having a really bad hair, makeup and body day.....when I was mistaken for my husband's mother! LOL.....Some old dude at a buffet restaurant came up to the table trying to hit on me in front of my son and husband. We all still laugh at that one! ARGH.....................

Thanks for the info on the sleeping pills Bev and Georgann..I can't take any of the OTC sleeping aids. They speed up my pulse and I then need to be medicated again for everyones protection due to the mood it gets into....BAD BAD stuff for me..
I'll have to try some of those teas...
I'll be gone most of tomorrow but will be back in the evening to catch up again...
