LOL!!!! I LOVE IT!!! My most treasured pieces of fabric are my vintage feedsack pieces. They aren't even that pretty of prints, but I love the story behind feedsack fabrics.
I was at Joann's a few months ago, lamenting to the gal cutting the fabric that I was wondering where I'd stash thisbatch of fabric. She told me she has a customer that rents a storage unit, just to store her fabric purchases!!! hahahahahahaha!! I'm not thatbad!!! Another friend stores lengths of fabric on hangers in her closet, then hangs her clothing over it. (your hubby can't see how much you really have!!!) ROFL

Elizabeth, the patterns I posted are here from this previous post. I directed it at Aunt George to get inspiration from (I don't have them). Like she needs any inspiration!
quote:
Since Georgann gets inspiration from just looking at pictures, here's 9 pages
of vintage apron patterns for you to peruse, Auntie George. Give you more ideas

Thanks Kathie! I love love the pattern....and I was able to use up most of my scrap from the "Bonne"(1949) apron....hehe....also...instead of turning down the top of the V's...i tacked it down by machine, and sewed ribbon over it...a lovely hard to describe color of grosgrain(s/p?) ribbon...it matches that fabric perfectly....ooh lala...haha
And Thank you for sending me the pattern(mom and her surprises...haha)

good one elizabeth!!! i really lilke the fabric...nice one to keep for yourself, too!!

okay another idea for the tea tent at bev's bee haven acres camporee...everyone bring a tea cup to trade...when my nearly 8 yr old turned 4, we had a tea party...it was the best...i wish i had more photos to post of it...i collected random tea cups from thrifting, and made aprons for all 30 little girls, and embroidered their names, or initials on the shaped pockets...it was so fun..no 2 fabrics alike! we had so much fun...so thrift a tea cup...and bring it to Bevs next summer ladies...what do you think? George...does this work for your tea tent?

Cool Idea... and I will bring the tea... We actually have added tea on the product line for over a year! I can even give a tea brewing class. The sorority next to my sorority had a tea cup collection and would have tea parties.

neato keeno...it is the middle of the night...and i am in rare form...feeling kinda punchy...just helped my sister have her baby earlier and the like...making halloween stuff...soap swap stuff...and jeez...i have got all kinds of stuff going...it is everywhere...eeekkkss...hope no one wakes up until i get this under control!! oh and i bought some of your lemon fabric this weekend...because you know i needed more fabric! Ha!!

I also bought 3 treadle sewing machines...singers..1904, 1906, 1909...sphinx, sphinx, and lotus...you know i needed those also! now if i can just get my greedy little hands on a treadle red eye that is in any decent kind of condition...now the search for belts begins!!

where am i going to put them? who knows...end tables...nightstands...?...they are in good shape...maybe i will actually sew something on them...one even has all its original parts and pieces and the original manual!! I do not think it was sewn on much, as the decals are not at all worn and it is all clean and crisp looking!! I wish I knew where all the treadles i grew up with went when my parents got divorced!!?? where do these things go...they are fairly large items to just disappear.. oh well...now my kids will have 3 to figure out what on earth to do with when i die!! Hahaha!

I dont need no stinkin sleep!

I am working on this one now.... I just Love Love Love this fabric... So much I got 5 yards!

This fabric is Alexander Henry "in the kitchen"
I saw this at Joanns... with his Picnic fabric. I didnt have my coupons, so I asked them to put them on hold. Well someone had put them back. The girl at the cutting counter commented... Dont put her fabrics back, she will come back and buy it all. Oh what they must think of me.

Jess... So when are we going to see pics of these machines? Ya know I really want a lotus, So if I find another red eye... I will grab it for you. Maybe we should have a treadle machine buy a long topic.

Oh and for that lemon pie fabric, I have the companion fabric... Do you need some? And BTW.. of course you need more fabric... I buy fabric like they will never make any more and ya know I may get house bound in a snow storm.... and will have enough fabric and supplies that my creativity will not be stifled! Even if we have no electricity, since we make candles, I can sew on my treadle by candle light. Ok no computer, stickblender or freezer would be a bad thing.... or cable TV! Bill would drive me nuts. He is best parked in front of the tube with his crutches, soda, painkillers and the remote. He just finished the last of the books I got him, he will probably start reading mine next! 9 more weeks on crutches.... 2 monthes and a week....78 more days! I may have to kill him before that day!

Elizabeth, Love that fabric on both the aprons..

Jess, you are so right, we can sleep in the dead zone! Here I sit typing this at 2:49am!! I love the old treadles. Used to have a few of them but don't anymore. Too many moves to keep up with it all!

Hey Kathie, Hope you are at home and not working!

I'll see y'all later this afternoon

night, night,
Stephanie

LOL no kidding
I really like the vintage kitchen look of the fabric on your apron....that's the type of print on fabric that I am looking for when I get my other projects done.... ha ha LOL
