BEV!! Be careful girl!!! You don't need a re-cracked sternum!! How are ya feeling tonight? Sore? HUGS...

I worked Friday night and Today. The fabric store is great. The perks are there too!!! The assistant manager was telling me last year they were going to throw out a sewing machine and she said she would take it...it was one they used in the classes. Well she got it home and found out that it was an electronic machine made by Husquvarna....Cool HUH??? They also have a huge cart of machines in the back room that employees can buy for $25. One of them is a Babylock Serger. Four thread.....................$25!!!!!

Anyway.......I love it there. Oh, I wore the cowgirl apron today and the customers oooed and awed over it. And the girls (co-workers) loved it and I had two customers ask if I did alterations (NO) I can , but I hate doing alterations.......BUT the classes are fully paid to the instructors and they are teaching basic sewing for $80 a head for 4 one hour lessons. They current class has 5 students in it. Hmmmmmmm.....also, I worked all over the store and the customers all commented on how nice I was and how helpful and knowledgable...then I snickered every time that I told them it was my first day of cutting fabric. LOL...Loved their reactions. LOL I helped multiple people figure out their patterns and yardages, helped find fabric and colors. Cut drapery fabrics and learned to use their electeric measurer and roller thingie. Gosh, I see so much potential for this store in what they could do.....but hold on their little fillie.....I'm just a non-management peon and want to stay that way. LOL...........anyway. I loved it, I feel in my element at this stage of my life.

Oh, and Bonne.........I love your skirt too!! I am off to take a bath in my lucious pineapple soap now from Bonne!

Later,
G

Bev, Oh, I know how sore you are going to be! You take it easy

Bonne, Love the patriotic apron!! Now all you need is one of those tiny music thingies to sew to it and have it play the national anthem.

Georgann,
Did you buy the Babylock for $25..gosh, I'd be buying them up right and left..LOL I'm so glad you are having fun. Customers will come back to find you for help because you are so pleasant and knowledgable!

Carol Sue,
Ok, now..you gotta post or send me the Sour Cream cookie recipe... That's sounds so yummy!

I'm just catching up with the aprons....Bonne....I LOVE your apron. I really like the cut of the waistband and the embellishments Cool!!! Oh, and I love your funky skirt under the apron. I make those skirts too. I actually mix and match layer my skirts for fun. The are all different lengths and I love the feel of the swishing gauze!

I know I'm missing making comments and I apologize. Reading frantically to catch up!!

Bonne, Love the glow in the dark
Naomi Beautiful apron girl
Stephanie here is the recipe...
1 cup Crisco
2 cup sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
5 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups nuts optional

Add Crisco and sugar and cream. Add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix well.
Now add the flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Mix well again. Add nuts if you prefer.
Drop teaspoons onto GREASED cookie sheet. Press flat with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, Makes 6 dozen.

Stephanie I just drop them onto the cookie sheet, I don't press them and I don't add nuts cause my grandma didn't.
There ya go sweetie....
Carol Sue

Enjoying life.

I'm going to be looking at and "test driving" a few of those machines! If they work well, then I will buying some of them. Let me see how bad of shape they are in! They were used in the store for classes, but what a deal if they work.
