Well I thought the aprons would all be for a man to wear, right? Of course, there are men that love to dress up in flowers

Or a gal that wants to be a guy, watch out! Ok, my all time favorite one is the "big smiley face" fabric with the big P! LOL

This girl is not afraid to express her favorite sewing technique of the moment..

Thank you!!! in the picture, you can barely see the little ribbon bow and big printed floral button in the center top....totally makes that top triangle bit...I LOVE how it turned out...SO fun, and cute, and totally easy! The hardest part was figuring exactly how to do my darts, should i curve then towards the middle or should they be straight? hahaha...then after I made one, I took a bit of rice paper, and traced it, cut the paper piece out, and traced around it on the oppisite side...I put it on as soon as I finished it, walked to the living room and just stood, soon sounds of praise reached my ears "oh Naomi!Thats nice!" "I like That!" hehehehe....I'm good!

Naomi, I like this 1949 apron the best! I was wanting to see closeup of the colors and fabric. My favorite fabrics are quilting types with the way different prints like that. Is it for sale?
I am enjoying getting to know the ladies here and this apron sew-along is my favorite forum of all! I am sewing aprons and collecting ideas and fabrics, I just have to figure out how to get a pic of them here to share!

Naomi-
I LOVE That apron- cute cute cute!!!Which pattern is that?
It is adorable!

You will all be happy to know I am going to address my "fear of the bias" and attempt a practice session with it. Doesnt feel nearly as rewarding as turning out something finished but practice is a good thing right?
I am also trying my hand at tatting and I have a huge quilt on the frame. Hand quiltiing is my all time favorite!
Followed closely by embroidery..and then I love...
oh never mind- just give me a needle and thread and I am a happy camper!!

Oh, Naomi, you are one happy stitcher. Your "Bonne" 1949 apron is gorgeous. I do love the FLAIR you placed at the triangle. I did the same thing. Just needed something there when you turn the triangle to the outside like that! The pattern calls for it to be turned to the inside, but I'm with you, I like it to the outside like that.

Girl, I wish I could have sewn like you at 1 1/2 years of sewing. I'd have gotten my rear into design school!

Great job....oh, and the apron looks wonderful on Cherie' (hint, hint) LOL

Bev, I just love the cowgirl apron. It is just too, too darling!!!! What a great job you did. I have to start putting ruffle trim on my aprons instead of bias tape - just adds so much more to the apron. You do such a fantastic job on all the aprons you show us. I just "sew" envy your creativity and design eye.

Naomi, your apron is just so darling. The fabric is beautiful! WOW!

Again, when do you all sleep!!!!! I think you must all have magic wands and just swish it around and say "bibbidy, bobbidy, boo" and walla - you've whipped up an apron.

Great job everyone.

Thank you everyone!
Linda: Yes, This apron will be in my Etsy store this afternoon...
Autumn: The pattern is the 1949 apron, that we've started calling the "Bonne" after the dear lady that shared the pattern with us...
Aunt George: you mean I made extra work for myself and added the triangle of fabric at the top and turned it the wrong way!?....Thats what I get for just skimming the instructions..but I totally love how it came out....haha
Annie: When do I sleep? from about 2 A.M. til 11 or 12
BTW..love the apron Bev

Naomi, That turned out SO Pretty!!!
Your really such a talented girl!!!
I agree.. I think back to things I tried to sew at your age.. !
Wow!! Like something my Dog would have attempted in the dark or something.. i Just was awful.. Your already so much better then i know i still am now!!! i can't wait to see what you come up with in about another 5 years or so!!

Bev, the Cow Girls are adorable..Sultry little ladies out on the range!!

Elizabeth, i love the cupcakes.. but the one with the wee little kids is too cute!! i REALLy do love anything with the print that looks like our old School books.. These little guys are just so cute!! & the Pink back ground is so sweet..!

Amy! What a cute little Apron! i love the Pocket on that!!

Georganne!! Good luck on the new Job Sister!! i know your going to have so much fun!!
i'm so thrilled for you.. I'll be thinking of you.. & wishing you lots of luck.. Great wishes.. Hope you have a terrific time!!
Your new Apron is just going to be the talk of the Store you know!!
Are you prepared to get ordered for it? You know you will be!!
From Your Co-workers.. & The Costumers!!
Have a great time Sweetie!!

I am sitting here at work right now!! Stuck!! ( Yucky!!)
BUT.. i can sew Yo-Yo's at my desk!! So.. All is not lost!!
The trouble is.. I'm here til 9pm.. & We have my 9 year old neice Zoey most weekends.. So.. after Dinner.. My husband says she gets bored after about an hour of watching TV with him.. So.. he lets her have a free for all in the sewing room..!! I have two shelves for her & Her projects .. She usualy Sticks to them.. BUT.. every now & then.. she strays.. & decides she wants to "Surprise" me!!
Last week.. I had some nifty glued projects.. all over the dining room table..! & she was banging on the Piano when i walked in..
I've left her a note for tonite....Hopefuly She'll stick to the program!! Creativity is so wonderful in kids.. ! I REALLY do love it!
I just wish my Husband wasn't so comfortable with allowing her so much freedom with MY stuff when I'm stuck at work.. !!!!!

Bad enough I'm getting screamed at here.. When i KNOW a Creative Mind Is trying out Pinking sheers on some really nifty looking fabric that she may have just found!

haha, Thank you Kathie, there are a few mistakes though...like not all f my stitches went straight, actualy they were straight, but on the triangle, one side had then about 1/8th in away from the edge, while on the oppisite side, it was about 1/16th...doesnt sound bad...but you can tell...haha...but only if you look at the stitches....haha
