Hi Everyone,

I have had a few questions about merit badges and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I have submitted for several merit badges but have only received the badge for a few of them. So I have emailed the people who sent me merit badges several times and I have never heard back from them.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do you all know anyone I should contact? The people I emailed were Alicia Carlson and Kevin Quinn. I'm sure there is a mistake somewhere, maybe they haven't gotten my emails somehow...

Thanks, farmgirls!

I just read this post, and just found the Merit Badge checkoff list. Thank you for making that!

Hi Kristina,

I received two emails from you yesterday morning, and replied to you today. We can get pretty busy here at the farm, and I try to get to everything as soon as I can, but it may take 24 hours or more before I am able to respond. This forum is also a good way to get answers to your queries, as we all try to check the topics regularly.
I hope I was able to help, and as always, let me know if you have any more questions!

From the farm,
Chelsea

Hey there ladies!
Some advice when applying for badges.

#1 Use google Chrome. We have found this to be the most reliable browser, but if you find it's not the best for you, switch it around. Try Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari.(for mac) Depending on your operating system, one may work better for you than another.

#2 Add Meritbadges@maryjanesfarm.org to your address book. Oftentimes our emails are caught in your spam folders, junk mail and trash, so be sure to check them also for our responses. Our new Merit Badge Coordinator's email is chelseaparson@maryjanesfarm.org. You may want to add that now so you receive her responses to your inquiries! Check your mail filter as well for high level settings that may not accept MaryJanesFarm.

#3 If you are on a slow internet connection, just wait. Oftentimes we are all so rushed in our busy lives that we click around too soon. This also goes for remembering what you applied for. So many of you ladies are amazing at organization and we love you for it! You help us help you. :) To help you organize your application process even better we have created a Merit Badge Check-Off list here:

http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/meritbadges-sisterhood-checklist.pdf

So you may keep track of what you have accomplished, what you have turned in and when you received your certificates and templates.

#4 Check the forum here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=44
to see if we have approved your badge. If it is posted, that tells you and us that it is an email problem rather than a submission issue.

#5 Email meritbadges@maryjanesfarm.org and ask. We are always happy to let you know if your merit badge application has made it through or not, and what badges we have you down as having completed.

Thanks for your patience ladies! Technology can be tough sometimes, so we appreciate your patience and perseverance. :D Keep it up!

Breanna,
Right after I replied to your post I saw the one from Alicia that Chelsea is taking over . . . but looks like she's responded. I have had to resubmit . . not often, but have had to do it.
So, wishing you the best!

Hi Breanna,

Every once in awhile there is a hiccup in the system and applications don't always get through. I apologize for the trouble! I would suggest submitting your applications again, and then emailing me directly at: meritbadges@maryjanesfarm.org
Then, even if I am unable to get to the application right away, I can at least confirm to you that it was received.
Here at the farm, I try to get to every application in a timely fashion, in the order that it was received. We are so fortunate to have so many sisters applying for merit badges, and it is so fun to go through each and every one and see all of the hard work everyone has been doing!
Please don't hesitate to email the address above if any more questions or concerns arise!

Have a great day,
Chelsea

Also, once in a while I've submitted for a badge and it didn't go through. Usually you get an error message, but once in a while I miss it and have to ask if they got it, then resubmit. But with the change in personnel they might be behind. Hang in there.

Breanna,
Kevin is no longer at the farm and Alicia is the one doing badges. I do know they have had a LOT of applications and I think they process them as they come up in the queue. But, email Alicia and ask her about them again. If you have the dates you submitted and for which specific ones that would help her I'm sure.
My last one was submitted on a Tuesday morning and came through on the following Friday afternoon.
Hope that helps!
CJ
