Beautifully said! Thanks for sharing, Denise! :) It can be difficult to keep the joy during trying times but having a faith helps to gives us something positive to focus on!

It's also take a walk outside day. Some people might find it a little cold to do that now. Take a rain check.

I'll have to take a raincheck check on that it's only 10 degrees. School is late start tomorrow because they don't want the kids out waiting and getting frostbite.

Well it is 4 below here this morning. Should be our last day in the negatives for our high.
Was sick Monday night for some reason so stayed in bed most of yesterday. Feeling much better today which is good because I am teaching a children's class tonight. I hope you are all well, warm and busy doing what you love. I think Linda is missing the snow in Texas. Though I don't know if she or Sherry live where it fell.
Have a blessed day everyone!

Denise, staying in bed when you feel bad is the best way to give your body extra rest it needs to do the healing from whatever was the problem. For those of us who are often determined to keep going make what ever is wrong last longer. I hate giving in to sickness or whatever. Age, however is teaching me to face reality and rest!

So sorry to hear you’ve been not feeling well, Denise. I hope you feel better soon.

We are back on US soil in Port Canaveral, Florida now. And it is 49 degrees right now. Ed’s son is coming to pick us up at the terminal.

We arrived just after midnight last night due to a medical emergency. For the last four hours of the cruise, we were going full speed ahead to get them to Orlando Because they needed medical assistance more than the ship could give them. Since we were going so fast, it was a very smooth sailing on somewhat choppy seas. We are scheduled to debark at 10, however they just announced they figured debarking would be complete by 9 o’clock. So we’re gonna have to wait outside a while for Zach.

Linda,
So glad you made it safe and sound. Sorry to hear of the medical emergency. Hope all turns well for whatever it was that happened.
I am doing well. I think it was a 24 hr. bug. Though I got a text from my son asking for prayer as ge was down with something. Hoping his is over. I don't think his was quick as he was off work a few days.

Linda, glad you were able to get stateside in a hurry for the passenger to get transferred for medical care. Yes, it has been chilly here in Florida pretty much the entire month. We have had some freezes and I am sure you heard that Pensacola Fl. to 5 inches of snow and Tallahassee got 4 inches. We just got cold rain but today has been the start up of a warming up all week long. Big change again!

Hope you are settling back in to your home and sorting out what to do next after being gone.

Well, Ed and I are back home after our Caribbean cruise. Our ship, the Carnival Venezia, arrived back in Port Canaveral a little after midnight on Sunday morning after very fast sail back. The Captain announced at around 6:00 PM (while we were at dinner) that there was a medical emergency requiring that the ship get to Port Canaveral ASAP, and we would be sailing at full speed to get there. We were not scheduled to get into port until 8 AM. We could not disembark until in the morning, so we had a nice night of sleep. Ed's son, Zach, picked us up at the port and we planned to spend a few days with him before driving back to Texas.

In the morning at around 7 am, our doorbell camera kept sending messages, and it usually does not do that, so Ed got up and looked at the videos. He woke me up and said "the house across the street from us is on fire!" My first reaction was here or at home? Well, it was at home. I spoke to another neighbor, who was out in her front yard watching. The owners were all able to get out of the house, along with their 2 dogs. It appears that our doorbell camera videos were the main ones that picked up the fire when it started. The camera picked up an explosion in the front of one of the trucks parked in their driveway in front of the garage. The videos showed the fire quickly spreading; they also showed that the Fire Department arrived within minutes. We were still packed from the cruise, so we decided to leave for home earlier than planned. Also, with 2-4 inches of rain due to come in on Wednesday and Thursday, we hoped to miss driving in heavy rain on the way home.

Monday night, I called my cat sitter, because she grew up here. I asked her if she or her husband knew anyone at the Fire Department that might want me to send them copies of the videos, because Ed and I thought that they showed exactly how and where the fire began. A friend of hers gave her the phone number of the Fire Marshal; she called him and he sent her his phone and email information and said he would definitely want copies of the videos, because the more they can know about the fire the better they can do their job. Ed sent the videos to him on Monday night from the hotel room. On the way home on Tuesday, the Fire Marshal called and said that he had not gotten the videos, probably because the City email security blocked a lot of emails; I gave him my email address and he sent me his home email. I sent the videos to both email addresses and he let me know he received them. I hope they help with the investigation.

Yesterday while on the road, I texted the neighbor, because I wanted to also send the videos to them so they could have them for their insurance company. She told me that she was sitting in front of the house crying - that they lost everything in the fire. Not only their house, but also their 2 pickup trucks. From seeing the videos, her car may have some surface damages, but it has been moved, so is probably driveable. Their daughter is in 8th or 9th grade and I can't imagine what she is going through.

I know they are in a hotel right now because they have no relatives in the area. This is so sad.

Please send hugs and prayers for Maria and Mike Gutierrez and their daughter.

Fingers crossed and prayers sent for the insurance company coming through quickly. End of May, when my house had all the straight-line wind damages and trees down, their house also had roof damages, and their insurance company still HAS NOT settled that so they can get a new roof! Now they need a new house and vehicles!

I guess that's one way out of paying them for a new roof. Hope they do a lot better this time.
