I've been busy and just now remembered I hadn't posted for January yet.
I hope this next year is a good one for all of our Scattered Prairie gals!
I wish each of you good health and joy filled days. I am so glad we are a happy little group even if we are scattered around the globe a bit. It's so nice to have a place to share our good times and pray for one another during the hard times.
I hope each of you know you can contact me if you ever need anything. Be it prayers, thoughts or whatever. Farmgirls are there for one another. Definitely part of the farmgirl spirit!

Ed and I are welcoming the New Year 2025. We are driving to FL on Wednesday and staying with Ed's son, Zach. We leave Sunday on a 14-day cruise and he is taking us to and from the terminal. We are driving because we are taking a desk, file cabinet, and office chair to his son from his rental house here. We are looking forward to a nice rest after finishing the storm repairs from May and surviving the holidays.

Happy 2025 everyone!! Yes, I am grateful for our Henhouse and the friendships and camaraderie that I find here.

Linda, we are going to have an Arctic front come down starting tonight to Florida so things will be a bit more chilly here than usual. I hope you have a fun cruise wherever your destination.

I have been really enjoying these first days of January because they are so nice to not have some agenda stuff to finish or do. December seemed to flash by in a blink and now it just feels nice to have time to think and rest . With this new cold front that will last here about 2 weeks, I plan on digging into some new books one of my daughters gave me with a cup of hot tea.

I'm happy it's Tuesday and Monday is over. I had the lung biopsy yesterday and it could have gone better; at one point the needle hit a blood vessel and I ended up with a few mouthfuls of blood. He never could hit the tiny spot but we figured it was a hit or miss thing anyway. The neck biopsy last month went much better.

Happy Tuesday and Happy New Year. Oh, Judith sorry your lung biopsy was difficult for you and the doctor. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
This coming Monday the 13th I'm having surgery on my foot to remove a sewing needle.

Hugs,

Farmsisters, I never felt it. The needle that is in my foot. Thinking it happened back in June or July. Back on 7th December had a scheduled MRI. Was walking back with the tech and fell. It hurt so bad. Someone got a wheelchair and they helped me up. Took me to ER since I cut my leg- no stitches. But x-rays done -no bones broken- just a needle. I happen to have neuropathy and can't feel my feet.

Took a friend out to lunch yesterday to celebrate her birthday! Had a great time! Stopped at Hobby Lobby but their sale on yarn was last week so picked up something for the grandchildren for Valentines. Will hit the yarn sale next week. Since my son is a manager there at least I can find out what is coming up on sale next.
Today I hope to spend time working on some crafting either papercrafts or sewing. And getting in some crochet.Hope you all have a great day today!

These are such cute photos and I especially love the chickens with the sweaters on!! Adorable!! We continue to have chilly weather here in Florida so it has been a true wintery like start to 2025 . It seems the entire East Coast is getting a colder than normal January.

Found this on Facebook.

"We only get one life. So we should fill it with good stuff like love, kindness, laughter....and hot chocolate!"

"This is what I have seen to be good and right: to eat and to drink and be happy in all the work one does under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him. For this is his reward."
~Ecclesiastes 5: 18

So true Denise. Some life events may drag us down for a little bit but we can bounce right up again and be happy. Life is good. Appreciate the time we are given and make good use of it. So is hot chocolate on a cold morning.
