Yay for those of you having a nicer weather arriving !! Enjoy it for me because Florida is still in the hottest months right now. I love the arrival of the "ber" seasons too because of the cooler weather and the fun holidays that happen. Fall feels like a regenerative time because the hot weather finally stops and cooler days arrive. Also the changing of the leaves has become a welcomed and beloved tradition of people everywhere.

So very true. Beauty is everywhere; sometimes you just have to look hard.
Happy day today -- I get to go to my first Wednesday little quilt sewing class.

I have always been one to spend a lot of time looking for beauty in the average and ordinary. When I was young I would spend countless hours outside and was so mesmerized by plain things like plants, probably weeds along the road.

My mom had this cabinet from my grandmother that was nothing special and it looked like someone had scraped the paint off of it. I thought it was the most beautiful piece of furniture we had. Mom always said she was going to paint over it but she never did. I was so glad. It was permanently attached to the wall and they didn't want to mess up the wall so they left it when they moved. It had little dents in it and when I sat at the kitchen table I would always look at them wondering how they got there. My grandmother built the cabinet herself. It was from floor to ceiling and had long sliding glass doors on it with some short wooden doors on the bottom. I know strange to be talking about a cabinet but it was something mom had because grandma made it and no one thought it was as beautiful as I did.

It's good to see the beauty in the plain and ordinary.
I am fortunate to have the jewelry box my grandfather made my grandmother for an engagement present in 1905. The top has an inlaid border and the inside has a tray that lifts out. It is a little scarred and stained. Poverty struck so it didn't get to hold very much jewelry back then, a watch, an amathyst necklace, a ring. Also a coral necklace that my mother got for graduation that I got for my graduation. It was always the magic box when I was small and still is in a way even though I never knew my grandparents. I'm a little sad that there will be no one to pass it on to after my grand daughter as none of my grandchildren have chosen to have children so far.

I was walking through the park on Sunday on my way home and the wind picked up and this one tree had a lot of leaves fly off of it.
I was thinking it was to early for That to be going on, but I guess it isn’t.

Have a good evening.
Hugs

Enjoy your apple picking. Too hot here to go anywhere. 103 yesterday. I must be getting used to the heat; I woke up because I was cold. Looked at the thermometer and it said 70.

I hope you had a successful and fun apple picking time! We are still having oppressive heat and humidity every day and it is miserable to be outside for much of anything.

September has also been hard as my brother passed away from cancer last Sunday and my other brother is declining with heart failure which has been difficult to treat. There is a possibility of some help with a stent in the Aortic valve but doctors are not sure they can actually accomplish that safely. My bother is being referred to another well know cardiac doctor at a different hospital in Boston. Please keep him in your prayers.
