This is one of my favorite months of the year. I hope you in the southern tier get some cooler temps this month. We are starting our first week being in the 90s. I hope it is our last week of these temps. I an ready for some Autumn fun!

I love this cute photo!! No cooler weather for us through next weekend, but it is nice to turn the calendar page and know that a new season is slowly and quietly moving into place.

Happy September! Wow, I can't believe the summer is almost over. I do love fall but .... seems it was a short summer.

Did recently come back from vacation in Newfoundland. OMG, what a beautiful province. Stayed mainly in Canada park, Gros Mornes National park. It is designated as one of the darkest area on the globe. The night sky was amazing. It's the first time I saw the edge of the Milky Way. What beauty. I can check that off my bucket list. Gazing at the night sky was amazing. So many stars!

I did go whale watching and saw these magnificent creatures in action. Did get some great shots with my 35mm. Quite choppy, it felt like we were going 15 feet up in the air in between waves in our zodiac boat. It was a wet day and I enjoyed every minute of it.

My camera is full of photographs from my trip. I haven't taken the time to look through them. School started!

Just thought I'd pop in for a few minutes.

Catch you all later.

Carole, so good to hear from you! You summer sounded like a wonderful time.

We managed to dodge the big impact from, Hurricane Idalia last week and we all were very grateful. The storm did a lot of damage to the Big Bend area where it hit and I feel for all of those people who lost homes, businesses, and now are facing a huge cleanup and whether they can rebuild or must move.

I am happy that September has arrived even though Fall weather won't be arriving anytime soon. At least this morning we had temps in the upper 60s for a change but that small bit of cool weather quickly dissipates by 9am. I have been pulling out some fall decorations little by little. It is just hard to motivate myself when it has been so hot all weekend. This coming weekend we are invited to a friend's home near St. Augustine area. It has been a few years since I have been to the beach so it will be nice to see to and hopefully see some pretty sunsets and sunrises.

It sure has shaped up to be a busy September. We have some thing on the calendar every weekend this month. I intended to get my fall things out but still haven't been able to get to it.

We went to our town's Popcorn festival on Sunday afternoon. So fun to learn more about the place we now call home. Lots of food and artisans selling their wares. I did find a gift for someone for Christmas. Never too early to get started on that.
It was a much bigger area covered than we thought but it was a wonderful way to spend our afternoon. Next weekend is our church's semi annual baseball game. The following Saturday is the local Apple Festival and that Sunday will be our International dinner at church. I am doing the US and will be making apple desserts. Definitely pie will be one of them. The following Saturday will be our eldest granddaughter's birthday party. She will be 18. Hard to believe we are here already. We have had a wonderful visit with her and will be a little lonesome when it is over. But I'm sure we will see her again as soon as we can. Hope everyone has has a great week.

Denise the photo of Winifred Tarrant was so cute!! I loved it since my real name is Winifred as well. It is rare to find a Winifred much less to see her featured in a card. I am going to look her up and learn more.

Whew! Just got back from a 2.5-to-3 mile walk. Ed and I walked 1-1/2 miles on Wednesday and Thursday, but today we walked 3 miles RT to our local Walgreens pharmacy (inside our Brookshires grocery store - yes, Walgreens inside a grocery store) to pick up prescriptions. The weather has gotten a little cooler, not enough yet, but has been comfortable in the mornings and evenings.

We are walking more for a couple reasons, but the most important is to build up our walking distance and stamina for our Middle East trip we just booked for November/December. We are taking an 18-day Overseas Adventure Travel trip called Suez Canal Crossing: Israel, Egypt, Jordan and the Red Sea. We also tacked on a 5-night extension to Holy Jerusalem & the Ancient Ruins of Masada. OAT Travel trips are for only 22-25 people, so a smaller group will be very nice. 6 days of the trip is on an 89-passenger ship and the rest on land in 5-star hotels. When we booked they asked if we could walk 3-5 miles a day, because there is a lot of walking - on sand, uneven ground, up steps, etc. Well, we did a lot of this on our China trip 4 years ago, but not as much lately - so we are building up our stamina. LOL!

The signts we will see are Israel: Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Haifa, Golan Heights, Jerusalem; Egypt: Suez Canal, Giza, Luxor; Jordan: Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Petra, Mount Nebo, Dead Sea; and Allenby Bridge Border Crossing. This will be quite an adventure for us.
