I finally finished my poppy scarf by Marie Wallin. I do enjoy colour work. It is not blocked, just not in a tidying mood

Cheers!

Beautiful, Carole. Wish I could do that intricate knitting like you do. I stick to the easier things. I have some yarn I've had for 12 years and I want to make a sweater for my new grandson. Trying to find a nice easy pattern.

I've been making Dish drainer quilts, Microwave (or Ice cream) bowl potholders, microwave baked potato bags, recycled denim aprons, and other items for sale. Sold quite a few at a Saturday sale at a friend's house 3 saturdays ago and at the church Conference sale the 20-21st. Need to find another local place to sell items.

My latest project. Finished today. I looked all over for one and they are pricey so I decided to make my own.

Nice drawer unit, Denise. I love the white decopage. Where did you find the unit that you painted? One of those thrift/antique malls we went to?

WOW! You made all the drawers and everything? Is it 5 sets of 4 drawers? Glued together? What are you going to keep in it? Your crafting supplies?

I didn't make the separate drawers. I glued the outer boxes to each other first one at a time then in sets of two, took those and glued each of the rows together. Then I stained each drawer inside and out. Once those were dry I decoupaged the fronts and added the library type handles. Then once the boxes were dry from gluing I sanded the sides, top, bottom and back and stained the whole thing inside and out. Once everything was dry I put all the drawers in where I liked the design of papers. Using in my papercrafting area to replace a set of plastic drawers normally used for nails and screws etc. That is what it will be used for now as we have been cleaning, decluttering the garage.

That has been a huge project but is almost finished up. So much nicer when things are organized and tidy. At least for me. My brain doesn't like chaos. I think that is always an ongoing process to stay on top of things but for me I seemed to do better when doing big projects all at once. It has taken us 2 Saturdays to get the garage done so far. There are still a couple things that need finished up.
My plan is to do each room. I still have things in boxes in closets so I am going to start in the guest rooms and go through each room over the summer.

Love it, Denise! Great job on the drawers! And great job on cleaning up the garage.

I wish I could get Ed to clean up his Shop/Garage. We've been here almost 4 years and it is still crowded. He cleared enough space to make room for his truck when we bought it 2 years ago. Of course, I get blamed, because an antique table/chairs and armoire of "mine" are there taking up space. I hate reducing the price more than I already have, but may do that to get it out of there.

The garage will be ongoing when JT does any projects because he has never made cleaning up after a habit.

I filled up my little drawers and put it in its home. I really need to go through my craft stuff and downsize AGAIN.

Must be! Though I know a few who are quite neat about caring for their tools.

Here are the things I have been creating lately. So far, 2 knitted cowls - large yarn and large needles. The Cream and burgundy are both made with Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick. Both still need to be blocked.

The cream has an attached scarf, made separately and then attached at an angle, on size 35 circular (cowl) and size 13 (scarf) knitting needles. Pattern is District 12 on Lion Brand website. It is also available for crochet, but the crocheted cowl has popcorn stitches, which I don't care for in this large yarn. The scarf hangs bulkily and I have an idea to help it hand more easily. Note: in the pattern picture they have hidden that fact. LOL!

The burgundy is called Stockinette Bandana Cowl by Ashley Lillis. I found this pattern for free on Ravelry.com.

Ed cares about his tools, he just hasn't organized the his workshop areas since we moved in. He seems to be able to find them when he needs them, though. LOL

Jt cares too but he is really bad about petting his tools away. So we did one side of the garage in pegboard so he actually has a home for each of them and the garage doesn't have a dozen different toolboxes lying around in the way. Both cars can be parked in therewith room to walk around.

I haven't started my craft stuff yet. The grandkids want to go to the pool so I willwork on it this weekend.

I am almost done with another knitted cowl that is basically a small scarf that buttons. It is not a thicker yarn as those 2 above are. I hadn't knitted in a while - had been doing mostly crochet - but am finding the knitting relaxing.

I also have a crocheted sweater that is over half done - I need to finish that.
