Prayers requested for my DIL, Michelle. She had surgery last Tuesday to remove a spinal pain stimulator that had moved and had caused problems for her for over a year. Last evening she went to the ER because she was in pain and could not sit down very well; they found an abcess infection that happened as a result of the surgery. She was transferred to a local hospital when a room opened up this morning and now they are waiting to transport her to a Dallas hospital for surgery. The doctor who was going to do surgery at the local hospital is conferring with 2 other surgeons in Dallas.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Just wanted to let you all know Karen is doing well and going home. Her and her husband stayed in a nearby hotel a couple of days after she was released so she could rest more before taking the 4 hr trip home. I'm continuing to keep her in prayer for recovery. She has about 6 weeks. I'm not sure if they are still at the hotel or have headed home.

Hugs and prayers for Karen's quick recovery.

Additionally, our family members are getting hit hard this week. More prayers needed.

Please continue prayers for Michelle. Michelle had 2 drains put into the 2 abcesses this morning. She cannot lay on her back. She has blown 3 IVs so far; they are putting in a port so they can give her heavy-duty antibiotics today. She isn't sure how long they will keep her in the hospital. She works in the hospiital in the supplies ordering department so she knows many of the doctors there.

Prayers also needed for 2 of Ed's cousins (in fact, brothers). Paul lost his wife on Sunday morning and Ed has been up in Colorado since Monday for support in this difficult time for him. Ed and Paul were like brothers growing up; their mothers were identical twins and the boys were born just months apart.

Then today, Steve (one of Paul's brothers) and his wife, Leah, were diagnosed with COVID and they both have additional health problems. They live in Indianapolis and COVID has been hitting hard there. Two days ago Steve had told Paul he and his son would be up to Colorado for the funeral; then yesterday he said he wasn't feeling well so wouldn't come. Then today they found out he has COVID.

Also, Ed's sister, in Grand Rapids, has a cyst the size of a large melon near her ovaries. Today her doctor said that they have scheduled surgery for Wednesday, the 20th, for an almost complete hysterectomy.

Ed and I had planned on going up to GR for her surgery, but now it looks like the funeral for Paul's wife will be Wednesday. Ed and I have doctor appointments scheduled for Wednesday, so I have to cancel at least Ed's and not sure if we will go to GR right away.

So much going on.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Michelle was released on Sunday and has been home until tomorrow when she can return to work at the hospital.

Ed's sister's surgery was yesterday morning. The cyst was larger than they thought it would be and the surgery was successful to remove it. They tested it for cancer right after its removal and it was negative. I spoke to her this morning and she was doing well; they got her up to walk a bit and that went well, too. Also, she is feeling much better now that the cyst is not sitting on her bladder. She is hoping that the removal of the cyst will also alleviate some or all of her back pain. That would be great.

Ed's cousin's wife's funeral was this morning. On Saturday Ed is fying from Denver to Grand Rapids to spend a few days with his sister.

He left 11 days ago and will be gone another 4 or 5. Boo hoo!
